It sure is fun to poke fun at this guy...But I hate to say it, In about 10-20 years all this TPR video of us will be made fun of. It's the circle of life! PS- He does look like Will Ferrell -

Roller Coaster Addict Well it is time once again to pull something out of the Retro VCR. We've already seen the Roller Coaster Singer & Roller Coaster Expert...How about the Roller Coaster Addict? This guy, Carl, is the original credit whore...only thing is back in the 80's there weren't enough credits to be had so he decided to ride the same coaster over and over and over....... You get the picture. PS - his closing remarks are epic I am still trying to figure out the TPRTV so until then we will have to make due with Youtube. I'll let Restoca cover the holiday themed postcards while I am going to stick with the mine train theme for a bit. Six Flags over Texas -

I am going to pay my homage to Opryland next week, I decided to take my family to the Opryland Hotel for Christmas. I am sure it will be bittersweet for me. -

Here's an oldie from Six flags over Georgia. It includes the mini-mine train which has long since been gone. -

Yes, the PBS station that did that special contacted me and used some of my footage. It is kind of exciting, I have never been credited in a video before...well at least not a legitimate one...lol Hopefully they will send me a copy of the program -

IAAPA Re Cap: Mack Well it has been a little difficult trying to gete the last installment of the IAAPA re cap posted with all this maintenance going on. Hopefully I will get through this post before it goes down on me again...(hey that sounds kind of dirty) This post of the Mack catalog finishes up the re-cap of the IAAPA convention of 2008. Hope you have enjoyed it. -Shane -

IAAPA Re-Cap: Bolliger & Mabillard Well we are winding this IAAPA series up and what better way than with this great looking catalog from B&M. Would you expect anything less from this company? On a side note, I must say Behemoth was the sleeper hit for me this season. I didn't expect too much from this B&M hyper but boy was I thrilled when I took my first ride (outside back seat). I am really looking forward to Diamondback! -Shane The Dive Machine was not included in their standard catalog. It got a whole brochure to itself. -

Did you know that at the very top of both CGA's Drop Zone & Carowinds Drop Zone it bares the inscription "Shane was here"...? -

Here is a late night post for all your lift hill nerds out there. Don't have much to say about this, just thought it was something cool I saw at the show so thought I would share it here. I am going to finish up this IAAPA re-cap by Saturday or Sunday. We have B&M tomorrow, Mack on Saturday and maybe some bonus pictures on Sunday. So those of you that are longing for the original format of Shane's Amusment Attic, fear not, we will be getting back to the good old stuff soon! Chains... -

First generation Free Falls: love them or hate them...I just miss them! This one one used to thrill riders at Six Flags Great Adventure. When I rode it back in the 90's it shut down while I was at the top and I got to walk down the stairs, it was almost as exciting as the ride itself. I love evacs! Stuntman's Free Fall -

Can an amusement park make a comeback?
montezooma replied to coasterdude5's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Fiesta Texas comes to mind. Attendance at the park was continually dropping until one year when Six Flags added a ton of new rides, coasters and a huge wave pool in the shape of Texas. In that season alone attendance grew by 1 million. I would call that a comeback! -

^ I love that postcard. It may be one of my most favorite on this thread. I love to see stuff from AstroWorld, the older the better. Am I the only one that is still BITTER over the closing of this park???? Here is my contribution for the day. Just last year that was a typical postcard, nothing really anything special...well now it is a collectors item. RIP - Back to the Future: the ride -

IAAPA Re-Cap: Gerstlauer Amusement Rides GmbH Well todays update is coming a little later than usual, things have been crazy at work and I finally have a second to post this info from Gerstlauer. I am hoping to get this IAAPA update over soon (there are a couple more from Mack and B&M) then I can get back to some good old stuff. Enjoy the high-tech wood and spinnies from Gerstlauer. -Shane -
Woo-Hoo!!! I haven't won anything since my pageant days. First off I would like to thank Jesus... But seriously, thanks for all the votes, too bad I just got back from Sea World I could've used those tickets last week but I can't wait for the TPR bag of crap (wait...it isn't one of those bag of crap that you put on my door step and then light it on fire, is it?) See you all in Season 20!!!

Here are some more past rides from Magic Mountain. Notice in this postcard that of the 6 rides shown, 4 have been removed. Magic Mountain needs some more flats...cough, land of the giants, cough -

IAAPA Re-Cap: Great Coasters International Have you had enough steel the last couple of days? Well this morning I have got WOOD (get it...morning wood...lol) Take a look at this product portfolio, a close second to the Intamin Catalog. There are some beautiful shots of each gem of a coaster GCI has created. Can you really go wrong with GCI? This shot alone is enough to give you wood! -

The Electric Rainbow used to be a beautifully painted and lit thrill ride at Magic Mountain, since its re-theme is looks old and worn down. I know that is supposed to be the theme, but I think the theme rings a little to true on this ride...old and worn down. I remember riding Electric Rainbow as a kid and I could swear that the ride went completely sideways...now it only goes about 45 degrees. Does anyone else remember that or am I remembering wrong?
