  3. I am not done with my Colossus postcards yet... I love this shot without Goliath standing over Colossus
  4. Theme Parks A Go-Go: Part 2 Today's episode includes Universal Studios and the Paramount Parks. [tprtv]http://www.themeparkreview.com/coastertube/play.php?vid=ThemeParksagogopt2_1[/tprtv]
  5. Theme Parks a Go-Go Part 1 Yes what a stupid name for a show, but the show is actually pretty good and features a host of washed out stars desperate for attention. It is a 7-part series. While this next mini-series is not as good as Kid's World (IMO) there still is some great footage, including a whole segment on Drachen Fire. Tune in everyday to see each exciting part. -Shane [tprtv]http://www.themeparkreview.com/coastertube/play.php?vid=ThemeParksaGoGopt1_1[/tprtv]
  6. Sorry for the delay in presenting Theme Parks a Go-Go. there seems to be a little glitch with downloading to TPR TV today. (or maybe it is my internet...either way something is not working) I hope to have it posted later today. If not we will have to go with the youtube version. Either way It will be on here tonight around 6:00 (mountain time) So please check back then. Shane
  7. Kid's World rides The Beast I am sorry to say that this is the final installment of the Kid's World series. I hope everyone has enjoyed it. We will continue on for the next 7 days with our "Welcome TPR TV" super series...Theme Parks a Go-Go. A show from the E! that star such celebrities as the guy from Baywatch, the guy from Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, the girl from Facts of Life and a bunch of other "has beens" Now sit back and enjoy The Beast as the Barbara Walters of Kid's World procures the coveted interview with Beast creator, Mr. Charles Dinn. 8. Terry does NOT speak on behalf of all us gays. I say stick up for you opinion, if you straight men give in on this and everything else, in a matter of a few short years us gays and women will RULE the free world...Is that really what you want??? Imagine a TV with only Lifetime and Bravo...No ESPN
  9. I dunno man, I personally thought the night ERT was the highlight of the event! They gave us *ALL* the coasters to ourselves for what, 90 minutes? I ended up getting so many solo night rides in because the group was so spread out. And then having the Sky Tower open at night with all the execs up there it was like having our own private party up there! That really kicked a$$. I have no idea if they'll be able to do that same thing for us again this year but I really think that ERT session was one of the best I've ever been to. I think only our 3 hours at Liseberg where they gave us beer, hard liquor, hammers & nails to pound into Balder, marks to write our name on the wood, and a cherry picker to get photos from 90 feet up in the air is the only other ERT session that TPR has had that comes close! --Robb That was my plan for last year. Do the morning ERT but head out before the night ERT. Miles convinced me to stay for just one ride of the evening ERT. Needless to say we stayed until the end of evening ERT. It was the best, not to be missed. WCB was so fun last year that I have found myself actually flying in to attend again this year. Magic Mountain has gotten good enough to justify the price of airfare!!!! Looking forward to seeing friends and meeting new ones this year!
  10. Kid's World and the Revolution Matthew Miller is back, and this time he rides the Revolution at Magic Mountain. [tprtv]http://www.themeparkreview.com/coastertube/play.php?vid=KidsWorldRevolution[/tprtv]
  11. OMG when did "the rapids nerd" get a job at Gatorland???
  12. ^That Colossus logo is just awful! Colossus seems to be the theme of the moment so I am going with it. This postcard is pre-neutering with those great NAD trains with the Thunder & Lightning themes. Now this is a LOGO!
  13. Kid's World: Atom Smasher or the "Cinerama Coasta" This is probably one of my favorite episodes, not due to the coaster, but purely for Franki Romanelli and her thick New York accent. The Rolla Coasta was located at Rockaway's Playland from 1938 to 1985. So when I began to post these episodes from Kid's World I wanted to give a little history on the program so I did a some research on the internet and could not come up with anything, I did however find Franki on facebook. She has turned out to be quite a looker. Like any New Yorker she now lives in Florida and she made sure to tell me that she lost that heavy New York accent. [tprtv]http://www.themeparkreview.com/coastertube/play.php?vid=KidsWorldCinerama[/tprtv] Franki today
  14. Thanks everyone for your reading and interest in this thread. Your comments and opinions area much valued and I am thrilled that I have hit the TOP 10 position of TPR's most viewed threads. I had no idea of what this would become when I first posted those early park magazine ads back on November 23, 2007. I just want to make everyone aware of PAGE 1 of this thread. It has a detailed, up to date table of content of everything posted and direct links to those threads. Check it out if you have missed anything here in Shane's Amusement Attic. Thanks!!!!! First thing ever posted back in November 2007
  15. Well lets get this page started with the same. here is something you don't see every day
  16. I watched this special and it really bummed me out that I didn't make it out there. It looks like the Great America parks when they first opened, very flat and young landscaping. I am going to go out on a limb here and say I believe this park could have survived if not for THREE things. The concept is good and with a little tweeking could have easily become more family friendly. With a few more seasons under its belt the ride lineup could have been improved (ie: Fiesta Texas) and the management and pricing can always be adjusted according to operational expenses and attendance. On the surface it looks to me like the three biggest mistakes made on this park are: Location, Location, Location. And that is why we don't see one of the corporations coming in and getting this very nice theme park at the bargain basement price.
  17. or his waist size, cause old men where their pants up above their belly button
  18. Kid's World blasts off on Jet Scream Here's a coaster that time forgot...Anyone remember the Jet Scream at Six Flags over Mid-America? Kid's World does and it is the focus of todays episode. So without further adeu I give you Six Flags over Mid-America's first venture into the looping coaster areana. Take it away Kid's World.... [tprtv]http://www.themeparkreview.com/coastertube/play.php?vid=KidsWorldJetScream[/tprtv]
  19. I cant resist posting this postcard of the Orient Express sorry don't have the back side scanned in at the moment
  20. OK you win...LZ will not work for World's of Fun. It is obvious to me now that a used B&M coaster would not work for an average size theme park that already has a boomerang. Thanks for pointing that out, I don't know what I was thinking...must have been the California sun. Moderators can you please go back and remove World's of Fun from my list of parks that could POSSIBLY use LZ
  21. Um, Orient Express has been deceased for over 5 years now... That was exactly Shane's point. It's been over 5 years now and the park does not have a sit down, looping coaster....unless you count the Boomerang. --Robb They've added both a coaster more or less in the spot OE took up, as well as another looping coaster. So since I'm someone who can't read Montezooma's mind, it would seem like an odd statement considering it was removed half a decade ago, and by this summer this fairly small, local park will have added 3 coasters in the 5 years since its demise... Let me clarify my comment. Parks that have a good coaster lineup seem to offer variations and different styles of coasters. When I was working in the design division of two of the Theme Park companies we always tried to provide a different experience with each new attraction. Therefore I was suggesting that LZ fit the catagory as a full circuit looping sit down coaster.. Back in the old days this variation was typically fullfilled by a standard Arrow looper. Today a lot of those old rides are being removed which leaves a void for that variation of ride. So with the removal of Orient Express WOF is now without a full ciruit sit down looper. Boomerang is sit down and it does loop, but it is a considered a shuttle coaster and some people do not like to ride in the backwards position so I don't consider it a replacement for Orient Express. Patriot is a completely different experience also...no further explanation needed. Therefore one might conclude that LZ would be a perfit fit, not in the exact location as Orient Express, to complete different ride experiences at Worlds of Fun...any questions?
  22. 1971-1978? I had no idea it was there for such a short time. I wish I had gotten the chance to ride the Big Bend
  23. Kid's World at Six Flags over Texas This segment is a little short, I must have run out of tape (beta) Anyways it does have some good footage of the Big Bend, Schwarzkopf Speed Racer. It was removed to make way for the Arrow Flying Turns...the rest is history [tprtv]http://www.themeparkreview.com/coastertube/play.php?vid=KidsWorldSixFlagsoverTexas_5[/tprtv]
  24. Sure thing. I would be glad to help anyway I can
