Now that you mention Nauta Bussink I am pretty sure that was the booth this model was displayed at. How come no one has come up with a list of defunct rides from the V-A-C-A-T-I-O-N video...let me get you started. Worlds of Fun: Orient Express Cedar Point: White Water Landing Dorney Park: Flying Dutchman -

V-A-C-A-T-I-O-N If you are like me today you are sitting at home, in frezzing cold weather, reading theme park review and jonesing for the coaster season to begin. It's called the off-season blues. Well here is a little something to lift your spirits and get you excited for summer V-A-C-A-T-I-O-N. See how many rides or attractions you can name that are no longer around [coastertube]http://www.themeparkreview.com/coastertube/play.php?vid=ext_3boh[/coastertube] -

Here's another one from Six Flags Elitch Gardens. I never understood the addition of this coaster. To have an Arrow Shuttle Loop and Vekoma Boomerang in the same park seems a little redundant. just simply Boomerang at least they didn't give this coaster the horrific name of Boomerang: Coast to Coaster. -

I don't think it could have been arrow...they were long gone before the inverteds came about. ...actually I think the inverted coaster was the final nail in their coffin -

Well you just never know what you will find up in my amusement attic. I just came across this interesting find. How many times have we all designed this exact coaster in Roller Coaster Tycoon? This model was on display at one of the IAAPA shows, but I am not sure whose booth it was in. I think it would have made an interesting ride. A lot of great amusement ideas never make it off the drawing board to the parks. -

That is a great find. Thanks for posting it. I always have a soft spot in my heart for the Arrow shuttle loops. I heard the reason the Roaring Tornado was removed from Magic Springs was because of low ridership. People were too afraid to ride it at the time. The park didn't get the return on their investment they had expected and had to sell it to cover the cost of the install. -

I must admit that the new colors look nice and new paint is much needed on that ride, but I don't think the colors fit the name of the ride at all. I think colors of coasters should some how relate to the images that the name conjures up. I think they just went for the "in your face approach" rather than trying create a "experience" that the name and ride should deliver. Carolina Cobra is another example of this. The colors in no way relate to Carolina or a Cobra. They just picked some bright colors that really stand out. I'm just saying.... -

They used to also have one of these at World of Fun in the Aerodrome section. I think it was called Wing Ding -

^ WOW there is something NEW I just learned. I never even noticed that turntable loading station. What a great way to operate a two train coaster. They should do this type of loading system more often. Thanks for pointing that out -

Joey are you telling me that Disney worked with Pinfari on those two projects? I had never heard that. I am still trying to understand why Disney would go to Pinfari to build them a coaster...but then I look at those lame spinners at Animal Kingdom and Crush at the Paris Studios and there seems to be no wisdom in Disney coasters. Thanks everyone for the kids words on this thread. I do enjoy sharing my collection and appreciate when there are great comments and stimulating discussion about each and every post, plus I always end up learning something (ie Pinfari & Disney...I am still stumped by that) -

A postcard from the beloved Six Flags Elitch Gardens. The relocated Sidewinder from the original Elitch Gardens. Originally relocated from Magic Springs where it was known as the Roaring Tornado. This is the only Arrow Shuttle Loop with the simple loop supports rather than the typical lattice structure. -
