  1. The Wodan picture is pretty. I wonder if they've had a "near-miss" with both rides yet?
  2. Sorry if I missed this somewhere along the line, but is there any reason for them to avoid inversions?
  3. Something tells me Sledgehammer is a big old pain in the ass to keep operational. Looks impressive as hell though.
  4. It does look really beautiful right there by the midway. And the POV makes it seem FAST. Should be a great addition to the park, maybe I'll be able to get there after Lollapalooza in August.
  5. When all three trains are on the track and two are stacked behind the station, does the third train stop on the inclined brakes or at the top in the flat area?
  6. Interesting but it does look unfinished. The first part looks like quite a good little family coaster with some nice speed and direction changes. Hopefully they'll add to the theming a bit throughout the summer.
  7. Fear is definitely very subjective. For me, Deja Vu at SFOG scared the crap out of me on those spikes. It's a combination of the angle, the manufacturer and the oddly loose restraints. I image X2 would have much the same effect on me, at least for the first ride. Other than that, I am more fearful of rough/crappy rides than anything like Kingda Ka.
  8. Beautiful! Can't wait to hear what you guys think of the ride.
  9. That is good to see. I was afraid Ferrari World was going to Hard Rock Park itself into the ground! Doesn't the undeveloped park have a couple coasters in storage? A Premier drift coaster, maybe?
  10. Every time I went last summer Hurler had a 30ish minute line because they only run one train.
  11. She's looking good now! Looks like this will be a great ride, and it is very photogenic. Still loving that turnaround/airtime hill combination.
  12. That train looks so awesome! I assume the station has a moving floor, like for the B&M floorless coasters?
  13. ^Yes. Unless they sort of repurpose the gift shop. You know how there are those two gates by the unloading platform? Well, maybe they could add all the Fast Lane people there somehow. The only problem with that is the nasty surprise when the train comes "preloaded" to the loading platform.
  14. I think they rope off rows on Volcano sometimes when it is having problems clearing the first inversion. I hope it doesn't stay like that for long, but that sounds like an absolute cluster F. Especially waiting in the cramped ass walkway above the station.
  15. Unless the park were to open an extreme coaster and a family coaster, opening two in one season just doesn't work if the park is trying to maximize the return on its investment.
  16. If there's one thing I know it's that B&M opens their rides on time and with all applicable parts. I think that's damn near gospel at this point.
  17. I think it'll be interesting to see how the blocking on this ride plays out. Busch Gardens, at least when I've been there, is great about sending trains without stacking. I may be wrong, but it looks like there can be a train in the station and two behind it. That means two would be on the course. But, slow unload/load would mean the others stop somewhere, which might kill the pacing/story. Right?
  18. I wonder if anyone has ever ridden Dragster with "launch boost" enabled? I don't have a picture, but the panel on Volcano at Kings Dominion is pretty cool. The on-ride computer displays a graphic of the ride, which looks like a blueprint, and shows what position/block segment the train is in. I believe the track in the segment being used turns red. Does anyone have a picture of a Top Spin or Top Scan panel? I'd like to see how you operate those in manual mode.
  19. I just hope they don't remove Bizarro... I think the speed coaster, which would probably be an Intamin or the like, sounds awesome.
  20. I think this ride is going to surprise a lot of people. It'll also be a great way for Zierer to prove themselves capable of making big, modern steel coasters. With the crews that BGW normally has, I can see this thing EATING people too. They can run 3 trains on Alpengeist without stacking so 5 on this with minimal to no stacking should be no problem. Another damn trip I'm going to have to make this year...what a problem to have.
  21. Well, hello awesome. 2012 is the most exciting year for coasters in a long time. Skyrush looks absolutely fantastic. Kings Dominion is my home park and I'm STILL jealous of your guys up in Hershey. I'm going to try to get up there before the summer is over. I haven't been since Storm Runner opened.
