I always liked the way La Ronde looked, however as you stated, it is know to have some rough crowds. I always though Shapiro's favorite was SFNE? He is after all dumping 50 million into next year. -
SFNE Rant and Review
coastermaniac123 replied to sfne2005's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Lately I am getting fed up with Sixflags ridiculous restrictions on S:ROS and the ultimate nut squashing. I wish they would get rid of the ankle guards since my feet are size 13 and make it very uncomfortable to put the restraint down. I usually take the front row of a car, just for the extra leg room so my shins don't get bruised. Come on Sixflags, remove the damn cuffs already! -
How many hills are there that produce airtime, I counted 6 clear hills of airtime, but I couldn't tell if the first drop produced airtime and the crazy s-turn hill looks like the back might airtime. Could anyone let me know? As far as it being better than S:ROS, I have no idea, I am obviously a S:ROS fanboy, but that ride looks nuts! It would have to be amazing, because there are some days when S:ROS never lets up and just goes crazy! Is S:ROS not good to people because of it's restraint? That's just ridiculous then.

Amazing water slides
coastermaniac123 replied to FLIPDUDE's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It isn't the only one in the world, just happens to be the first indoor one. The Masterblaster is the longest water rollercoaster that's indoor. Noah's Ark has the longest one, forget what it is called. -

Best Out and Back Coasters
coastermaniac123 replied to PhillyGirl's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
El Toro is advertised as an out and back coaster, so that gets my vote. -
OMG!!! I learned about El Ave in Spanish class. It's one of the fastest trains on the planet, i believe it goes around 200 km/h. It was named after a spanish bird, which is why the logo has a seagull like graphic. I can't believe that you guys were on it. As for the drop tower, my spanish tells me that they run programs at different highs(all the way, middle, and low) and goes up and drops a certain amount of times. Probably to meet the thrill standards of everyone.

Someone talked to the managers of the park and stated that a retheme would happen. What do you mean suck! I think it is going to be one of the best Gotham Cities in the chain. Look how well the Wiggles Worlds, Thomas Towns, and SFMW turned out. So far Shapiro has proved himself to be pretty good at picking and executing themeing. It would be better than just the South End no matter what and will enhance that section.

^ Actually Shapiro has painted many rollercoasters this year. Let me name a few, Chang, Ninja, and many more, those are just on the top of my head. I do wanna adress all the comments made about S:ROS and Mind Eraser having faded colors and how B:TDK and Crime Wave are in the wrong section. First off, B:TDK and Crime Wave are in a section called the South End, they are not a part of DC Comics area. Next year, it has been confirmed that there will be a retheme of the South End into Gotham City. To back this up there are many facts, such as relocation of Crime Wave, fixing and rehabing both sides of Double Trouble, holding off on Mind Eraser's paint so they can match it to a specific theme when they paint it, and a family rollercoaster rumour. I would assume that the other coasters would get some TLC as well such as S:ROS and Flashback. I do not know wether they are going to wait to paint Thunderbolt next year since the season has really kicked off. Hope this clears any confusion at all and if you have any specific questions post in here or pm me and I will try to answer your question.

Jeez, sorry you had a bad day at the park. Your TR makes it sound like it's Magic Mountain. I have been three times since opening and B:TDK and S:ROS seem to have slow crews. My last visit showed that B:TDK was extremely rough. Cyclone has been kicking for me, everytime I go, there are some trims off it not all! I haven't experience many linejumpers yet and any smokers, and the people who don't know how to use Q-bot are complete idiots. They make you watch a video on how to visit . Last visit, I didn't get stapled once and S:ROS was extremely smooth, but after 7 years of age it is not as good.

I feel like she wasted money by using Flash Pass on a day were she stayed in the water park for most of her visit. I only want to get a flashpass if I intend to reserve the rollercoaters and ride some of the great flat rides SFNE has to offer. BTW did you venture into Thomas Land? My sister said she wanted to, but everyone was checking it out since it was the grand opening. -

My sister went yesterday and felt the warth of the crowds. If the line for S:ROS was truely only 1 hr and 1/2 then her flash pass screwed her over. She had to wait 2+hrs on the flash pass for S:ROS at 6 o clock. However when she went to Cyclone it had a 45 min. wait and Time Warp line was really moving she said. I don't know why the used Flash Pass since they only used it for S:ROS aamd B:TDK . They went on B:TDK with the pass and got a wait shorter than the line. The went in the water most of the day and enjoyed it. It was truely the most packed she had even seen it. -
To me, the slowed lift hill didn't do much, but the back half of the ride wasn't as fast as it was when I rode it last August. Usually things get "trimmed" or in this case just slows down so that the train doesn't complete the course faster than it was suppose to. Similar thing happened to Twister II in Denver, they recieved trims since the train completed the course faster than it was suppose to. However, have no fear, the shear intensity is still there and the air time is just incredible as before. The only thing I noticed was a slighty slower twister section. Then again I used to S:ROS . It seems like you like ET more than Balder now, better not tell your wife!

SFNE 6/15 - Photo TR

It used to be amazing, a #1 woodie, but it is starting to age. New wood was put up and people are saying it's a better ride now, but I haven't been on it yet. -

Yes it's true, S:ROS has been hauling through its course lately, last few rides gave me airtime equal to some of Toro's airtime! It is also smoother lately, I am loving it! -

I went earlier as well and must say TDK was a crappy rough ride, though it still was forceful. S:ROS was hauling on Tuesday, it was amazing in the front row! Sorry about Scream not running combo, when I went it was running combo, and had tons of airtime . The Thomas Town has an extra Crazy Bus, but are you sure the other ride is an exactly clone? No one can deny that B:TDK as crappy as it has been lately isn't a forceful ride. -

I am going my self on the 12th, since school for me is out, but most are still in. Hoping the crowds are minor, but I'll manage. Some of those shots are fabulous, I absolutely love the one under S:ROS of the helix. -

Does this place take SFI season passes like Darien Lake? I am heading up to Denver with my dad on business and would love to visit this park. -
Most Overrated coaster?

^^It finally got the hype it deserved, but last few years MF seemed to be the one that overshadowed it. Yea it gets some hype, but not nearly as much as MF or Expedition GeForce IMO.
