  1. Is Shamu Express being torn out for this? Or just re-themed in the area?
  2. So how about that new coaster?... that was supposed to open in March. Anybody hear any updates on when they're planning on opening this up? Has there been a rescheduled media date yet?
  3. Roaring Rapids is also the most wooded part of the park right now. It would be a bummer to see all those trees leave. But that is some valuable space that happens to be adjacent to the dilapidated Cyclone Bay...
  4. Sorry Robb. I figured because the video was filmed from inside the park by employees (that all had their cameras out) that they were given permission or authorization to do so. It looks like someone is getting in trouble at CP...
  5. Yeah! It looks like the Wildfire hill, but banked to the level of Outlaw Run's first element.
  6. This place is an enthusiast wet-dream! They're legit trying to have the best line-up in the world I still don't quite understand how they're affording this. Their business model is certainly... unique. I've heard rumors that they're publicly funded through the EU or something? I don't know, but either way it's amazing news for us! I need nothing else in 2020, but to visit Poland
  7. First off: Here's a picture of Hyperion. Possibly the longest sustained ejector hill in existence Second off: They announced the world's tallest wooden coaster (MASSIVE F**KING RMC) and a Vekoma doubled launched coaster for 2020
  8. About a month ago, I remember folks here mentioning that Dollywood got ride of the night-before-offer for day-tickets. I can't confirm, but there's no harm in calling guest services.
  9. A little personal speculation, but I feel like Knott's might have strategically used the phrase "Grand Opening" to leave the possibility of a soft opening. Other SoCal parks have done soft openings recently (Wizarding World, Transformers), Knott's may continue to follow example from others in the market. Six weeks seems to be a VERY healthy buffer to get everything buttoned-up considering all the testing, commissioning, queue-building, and landscaping they've done to-date. Even GhostRider soft-opened on 6/3/16. That was more than a week before the official "Grand Opening" on 6/11/16.
  10. Lol. People put rcdb on a god-like pedestal, but it's not like they have some insider info - We know as much as they do when it comes to predicting coaster opening dates (nothing)
  11. ok. Have you ever tried T3, by chance? That coaster destroyed my thighs way more than Skyrush ever did.
  12. They have. They added extra padding and implemented a slight hydraulic release on the brake run. Little known fact: Enthusiasts are almost ALWAYS bigger complainers than the GP and are pretty wimpy when it comes to "comfort."
  13. The comment thread on this post of Wonder Woman testing: "Looks bizarre and unnatural. Not a fan already."
  14. [twitter] [/twitter] The last lap on this thing will be crazy. Immersed within the structure for almost the entire time AT RMC-LEVEL PACING Head-choppers f**king galore.
  15. 6' 1" - 175lb. I've ridden Skyrush around 20 times. I don't find the restraints noticeable, but not uncomfortable. I actually find the straight bar thigh sections of Maverick, I305, and Storm Runner to be be more uncomfortable.
  16. At IAAPA, Gerstlauer said that this will have OTSRs. The Eurofighter lapbar trains have mechanics that interfere with the LSM mechanics on the bottom of the trains needed for this ride.
  17. It's very similar to Mitch's methods. We're specifically trying to avoid heavy bias towards popular coasters. I'll have a more detailed write up of exactly how it works when we release the results. Excellent, that's exaclty what I wanted to hear!
