  1. This was great! Beast front row in the dark should be a bucketlist experience for anybody. Kings Island is a funny place because they pride themselves on having these awesome coasters you MUST night-ride, but then they're hardly ever open late enough that it's actually dark. Or if it is, you only have time for one dark ride. I think it's where the park is situated in the time zone sunset in summer is like 9 and it doesn't get dark until 9:30 or later, but it's pretty unfortunate. I still want to try Mystic Timbers and Banshee at night. I guess I need to visit on one of the 7 days the park is open until midnight (Saturday's in July)
  2. Jesus Christ they really decimated that section of the park with construction... That looks horrible.
  3. I don't think the park opens until the 28th
  4. Twisted Cyclone's looking better than I originally thought!
  5. That's funny, because that sluggishness is what kept me from really enjoying Monster - the pacing felt off. I really wanted to love it, but it just didn't go as fast as I wanted. Monster's drop was great though
  6. Here's a link for folks here. April 24th - Less than a week!
  7. ^ Also flooding is like a non-event. SFOG and Knoebels heavily flood like every other year. Coasters half submerged
  8. SeaWorld San Diego just pushed up their opening of Electric Eel a few days. May 10th is the new opening day! https://twitter.com/ClydeSeaWorldSD/status/986316117609205760
  9. Thanks for the update! I suspect once concrete is poured they can finish installing the final pieces of track, yeah? My first visit is in late June, and I'm really hoping I won't have to miss out on this one
  10. Any update on the status of Valkyria? Is the tunnel finished yet?
  11. Final train on RailBlazer installed (Yellow) https://www.cagreatamerica.com/explore/live-video
  12. That's been the prevailing rumor for the past couple years. But even if that's true and it is too far gone, RMC can still do magic when replacing a lot of the structure. Look at Twisted Timbers, 80% of that whole coaster is built with brand new wood. I think I've heard RMC say that a large cost-saving aspect to their conversions simply comes from reusing the old footers (which I'm sure are just fine on Gwazi).
  13. Spray paint markers have shown up on Gwazi's supports. This is the same type of marker that was painted on Georgia Cyclone, Mean Streak, Hurler, and others.
  14. ^ That's quite a reaction. Like, you could engage in the discussion instead of working yourself up and posting that, but you do you, man.
  15. Yeah man, RMC is getting so stale. Why don't they try building coasters that aren't top 10 for once?.. IMO, a Topper Track RMC (ala Lightning Rod or Wildfire) would be perfect in Kennywood's lineup. Kennywood essentially pioneered the terrain-based wooden coasters with Jack Rabbit and Thunderbolt in the 1920's. It would be so incredible to see RMC create a modern take on KW's classics and complement the parks rich coaster history. Especially if they're able to use that huge valley that was recently purchased.
  16. They called guest services and they told him April 28th. How is that not credible?
  17. Did you guys see this? Cedar Fair filed this in the US. My first thought was Carowinds! Here's a map of the Copperhead region: Cedar Fair parks within this range: -Carowinds (Hmmm) -Kings Dominion (Not likely for 2019) -Dorney Park (lol) -World's of Fun (just made it, but already has snake-themed Mamba) -Kings Island (barely on the edge?) Maybe the region doesn't matter, there's certainly no Diamond Back Rattlers in Ohio.
  18. First off, thank you for the picture! Second off, why would you be so sure of it not being one? It doesn't seem very fun to point out that all the ways we're not getting an RMC at all... Especially when the type of RMC they were rumored to get a while back wasn't any of those listed in that picture.
  19. Hmm... Tyrannosaurus Rex=T-Rex Velociraptor=Raptor T-Rex and Raptor are both RMC products. Prius (Latin)= Coming Before; Primary; Prior RMC woodie confirmed? Prius as in Toyota Prius, as in a "Hybrid" vehicle, as in IBox track. So it's saying it's not these 3 RMCs... What's left is the Topper Track woodie style!
  20. Quite a statement, Tony! I love how he ditched the PR-speak and talked it out like an enthusiast does! The comparisons to Twisted Timbers and Fury are interesting too. But my god... 27 seconds of fucking airtime. I still cannot get over this
  21. So I got it right? Very cool! I would still love to see that picture if anybody can dig it up!
  22. ^ Very interesting. On that post, KW said that this is not Thomas Town and said this construction is a different part of the park. Sounds like whatever's going on for 2019 is more or less a sure thing! I also heard this rumor (not sure if true), but apparently at an offseason event at the park a few months ago (ACE or something) there was a slideshow. One of the slides had the caption "What's NOT coming" with 3 pictures of a Prius, a Tyrannosaurus Rex, and a Velociraptor... Can anybody confirm/deny that this actually happened??
  23. Correct. I just brushed up on the history - Tampico Tumbler ran at KBF until 2003, when it was replaced by La Revolucion (Chance Revolution) From a 2003 TPR TR: Knott's Camp Snoopy 1992 park map:
  24. I'm glad I got to ride this for the first/last time last Labor Day - VERY fun! RIP Tampico Tumbler
  25. LOVING THOSE TRAINS!!! Not sure how I feel about the red train on the burnt orange track. I personally think it would've looked better with a green or yellow train. The third train is yellow
