Robb & Elissa in Asia - 2016!

Tokyo Disney is seriously the most beautiful place! I opted to skip Disney on my first trip to Japan because I was alone and would rather experience the park with friends or family. I'll definitely be going next time I'm in Japan though! -

Damn those Chinese are savages, right? haha good one!!!! Cultural stereotypes are hilarious It's totally everybody that does this, and definitely not a small rural minority. GOT EM! There's something somewhere in the rules about having a sense of humor. Go make a scene somewhere else. Oh sorry, that's totally my bad. I forgot casual racism is hilarious. -

Best and Lamest Coaster "Ending"

FTFY. That's pretty edgy. Nice meme -
I'm interested to see what type of layout Mack will provide for an "Extreme Spinning Coaster". If it features inversions, a launch, and/or steep drops, it's sure to be pretty neat. I'd like an inventive terrain-based layout with elements like Lost Gravity mixed with Manta - That would surely get me back out to SDC in 2018! I, like others, hope that they keep the spinning mild during an extreme layout.

For nearly 450 coasters ridden, my list could be a LOT worse! The only ones I'm actually bummed about are Lightning Rod, La Feria's wood coaster/Triple loop, and Fireball in China. SFMM: Magic Flyer (kiddie) SFOT: Canyon Blaster (kiddie) KI: Pumpkin Coaster (kiddie) KD: Taxi Jam (kiddie) IOA: Pteranodon Flyers (I didn't have a kid...) La Ronde: Arrow Mini Mine Train (kiddie) Lake Compounce: (kiddie) Others: Darien Lake (2001): Ride of Steel (closed), Boomerang (skipped, I was 8) SFMM: Flashback (2002,2007 closed) KBF: Wind Jammer (2000, skipped) Carowinds (2012): Thunder Road (one side closed) La Feria, Mexico City (2016): Montana Rusa and Montana Triple Loop. Both closed... Dollywood (2016): Lightning Rod tested, but yet never opened La Ronde (2016): Wild Mouse (skipped due to an insane line...) Michigan's Adventure (2016): Corkscrew, SLC, Kiddie wood, mouse, other kiddie coaster (I had 30 minutes so I only rode the two large wood coasters) Nagashima Spaland (2016): Shuttle Loop, one side of the mouse (both closed) Happy Valley Shanghai (2016): Fireball (closed for maintenance )

I think what makes Tennessee Tornado great is the pacing! You're flying all the way into the brakes - And I love that there's only 3 inversions instead of 5+. And I love the unreasonably steep first drop through the mountain. And the airtime... Man, that coaster is just SOLID -
This thread has reminded me how much fun I had on New Hotness! My small group on the trip had a wonderful time and didn't include ourselves in any drama. I appreciate all the work you (Robb) put into making sure EVERYONE had a great time. I could never have the patience required to deal with countless weirdos for 12 days straight. I sure hope the post-2013 cleanse has made the trips a little more fun again! FYI - My personal rule of thumb: If you ever see someone talking about how terrible TPR is online, chances are they are weirdos with no social-awareness in real life!

I agree that it isn’t a rough ride, but I’m spoiled by easy access to its sibling to the south at SFOG. The lap bars are a game changer on euro fighters in my opinion. MM is fun, but it’s never done as much for me as some others, probably because of Dare Devil Dive. I do wish all Eurofighters had lapbars like you said, but Dare Devil Dive just sucks. I don't think MM is rough per se, but it's got some strange jarring elements that I don't like - I'm sure the restraints don't help. -

There is that word again. Nothing was 'confirmed' in that video. Will it open in 2017? We don't know. Will it open in 2018? We don't know. When will it open? we don't know You wanna know who know? Not us. But guess who knows. youre right. not us. Can we please go back to talking about skyrides and boats please. lol. Are you serious? The video said 2018 with the RMC hint - What more do you need? That's as close you can get to a confirmation without literally announcing it. If you want to get into semantics about the word "confirmation," you need a better use of your time. -

What's your point? Hurler doesn't already have half of it's lift constructed out of IBox... The construction timeline is completely different on these two coasters set to open at the same time. I don't think the budget of operating Mean Streak for an extra 20 days had anything to do with it closing when it did... -

I'm still firmly saying 2018 since the christmas video confirmation, but I'm still confused and annoyed by this construction timeline. Here's what bothers me: - If the plan is to open it in 2018, WHY close Mean Streak one month before the rest of the park? Surely an extra month of construction over 1.5 years isn't worth it being closed during it's last possible Halloweekends. Why not capitalize on the "spooky" marketing potential? - Demolition and track-work got started VERY quickly for having 20 months to re-construct the coaster. - You hardly ever see track go up on a coaster 19 months in advance, unless it's built simultaneously with a new park. But NEVER at a seasonal park, even with the biggest coasters! (How long did Millennium Force or TTD take to build?) - The past 6 RMC conversions we've all watched were all completed over normal offseasons. Why would track be placed 3 times earlier than any preceding RMC IBox? People need to stop saying "It's always so clearly been 2018. Why would anybody think 2017?" and admit that Cedar Point closed Mean Streak stupidly early. This is not a normal coaster construction timeline. -
