FYI, track is placed for Mean Streak's zero-g. It is very large and looks similar to Iron Rattler's inversion: The track completes the inversion on the upward incline and is nearly level at the vertical peak of the element. IRat's roll is fantastic (especially in the front when taken at greater speed), so we're looking at something really great here! Also, Mean Streak ledgers following the inversion look to indicate the track will dive to the right and pass under the lift. -

We know absolutely nothing about what they're working on or the intricacies of how the ride works so your opinion is meaningless, but okay. Agreed. Who knows, maybe they figured out a way to keep it open consistently by doing maintenance for two-day periods every couple months? You can criticize their operations of this coaster, but it seems to be doing infinitely better than last year. I just hope this new system works for them in the long run. Mystery Mine has been down this season more than Lightning Rod. Also they weren't being cryptic, it definitely sounded like this was planned. Rhonda was were quick to answer me and be as helpful and understanding as possible. And I know you're saying it's peak spring break week, but over the past few days, the longest any queue has gotten was 5-10 mins. The parks seems to be empty. According to the app, Blazing Fury has the longest line in the park right now, lol. The past two days seem like the perfect time to knock out some quick maintenance. Maybe I just can't take your pessimism right now when I'm 4 days away from possibly getting on the damned thing. -

Rhonda from guest services explained to me that they've been doing quick maintenance on Lightning Rod the past two days. She says it's scheduled to reopen tomorrow (and that I'll be fine for this weekend!). Still crossing my fingers for good luck to their team - Also kudos for guest services being so kind and quick to answer me! -

Honestly it can go just any way. I've seen a few times last season where LR was down one day but opened up the very next. Other times of course were exactly as you mentioned. I did notice that the app had it listed as "TC" right after the park opened but an hour later, it was changed to "CD". Do you guy think there's a chance they may be trying to fix something early in the week before weekend crowds? I am flying across the country for a retry trip (of last years failed attempt) this weekend and I thought all was fine. Should I be worried? -

They needed a crazier finale to finally top Adventure Express and I guess they got one? lol. Robb, care to comment on the airtime? You seemed out of your seat a lot! Is it standard GCI floater? How would Mystic Timbers rank among the rest of the US GCIs? -

It's just the lighting in the photo. I was in the park working today and can confirm Maverick has not gotten painted. You're currently working at the park?! Tell us every detail you know about Mean Streak now!!! /s But seriously, if I was working at CP right now, I know exactly where I'd be spending my 15 minute breaks! -

Now that we're on this topic, having ridden 5/5 of the Gigas, I'd rank them as follows: 1. Intimidator 305 (#1 Steel. Best pacing, sense of speed, airtime, intensity, etc. - A perfect coaster) 2. Fury 325 (#6 Steel. Best B&M ever. Great coaster - Very re-rideable, but definitely not as good as I305 in any category) 3. Millennium Force (#16 Steel. Great coaster, but definitely not best at anything. Airtime is weak, but the speed is great!) 4. Leviathan (#19 Steel. Still very good, but it feels short and airtime is a bit off) 5. Steel Dragon 2000 (#26 Steel. A ton of floater airtime in the second half! Very fast and very enjoyable!) -

I think you're right. But I also think many people are blaming enthusiasts for being impatient and breaking Cedar Point's rules on trespassing to take pics, etc. The blame should be on these other people who have actual access to the park. But none of that will matter in a month anyway. I'm just glad CP has acknowledged the project. Hopefully this teaser campaign can get rolling because I know the demand for these pictures would be a lot less if we had a layout/info of what was coming! -

I don't know who is taking/leaking these pictures, but it's definitely not normal enthusiasts driving up to Cedar Point -- I just saw one floating around taken from the top of Millennium Force. And many others are taken from inside the park. Side note - There looks to be a double-up into the first inversion -

I've gotta agree with this person. It's totally the worst part of each of those rides when they end 2/3rds of the way through and spit you out onto the ground below. Who even thought that would be a good idea? You're funny. -

Ledgers also show that there's another short-ish speed airtime hill in between the giant outward banked hill and the first inversion. Directly adjacent to this airtime hill is a second airtime hill, but we don't know at which point the ride will make another loop or turn around to go over this second one. -

FYI everybody, Mean Streak's first inversion is starting formation... The steel ledgers for the next element are being constructed and show that it will be some type of inversion (Stall?, Zero-G? Dive Loop?). This is being constructed on the entrance to the turn above the lift (the same path the old Mean Streak took). -

It looks like there may be some new competition for this thread in the next year or so!! Cedar Point - Maverick/RMC Mean Streak? Kings Dominion - I305/RMC Hurler? Warner Movie World - Superman Escape/ ? -

Having ridden 7/7 of the IBox conversions, I can tell you that even if RMC Hurler maxes out ~100' (like Storm Chaser, Joker, Medusa) it can still be incredible! Medusa is the most intense steel RMC and doesn't have the most impressive surface stats. Regardless, having I305 + any RMC basically creates one of the best 1-2 coaster punches in the US! -
If you can't be bothered to spend the money on some sort of EP then you really shouldn't go. You'll have a much worse time and miss out on stuff. The park is busy most of the time now, skip two dinners out and invest in the passes! Quoted for truth. I bought passes and don't think I could've done nearly anything without them! Wonderful park though - You can still enjoy the park even when it's crowded!
