  1. So it's a twisty airtime hill that dives into the structure! We're still following the old overhead path!
  2. These two coasters a few weeks ago! Both are super photogenic so I included both
  3. I posted it just to spite you, RollerManiac. It worked
  4. Woah Edit: ^He beat me to it and it made the guy below me upset. The previous users post wasn't there when I posted this.
  5. ^First, all wave turns have those horizontal ledgers like that (look at Joker's Breaking Wave). Second, I don't think there would be enough speed to have any RMC intensity if it did make it back to that height. In other RMC Mean Streak news, while I was studying this picture and this picture, I noticed the ledgers framing the drop off the MCBR in the distance. It seems to be a flat left turn that straightens out into a surprisingly steep un-banked drop. It bottoms out with a tight headchopper left turn into the double up we've all seen. There should be crazy airtime down this drop!! Here are shitty paint renderings of how the track will lay on the ledgers framing this drop:
  6. Oh right, gotcha now! Yeah, that's def a possibility. I, too, am curious if they're going to feed it through the structure (like ending bits of Wicked Cyclone), but Mean Streak's structure just seems so dense, like you said. I'm also curious if they will continue to not deviate from the original overhead path of Mean Streak. So far they've framed around 70% of Mean Streak's old layout without deviation (VERY rare for these IBox RMCs to not change path). Overall I think it's even more exciting for new pictures to surface without knowing the layout at all (vs an announcement already)! This element of surprise is keeping us continuously intrigued! Everything is being slowly revealed, and it's much weirder/cooler than I would've predicted (It's like watching Twin Peaks )
  7. We're talking about the ledgers under that. Look at the steel beams that will frame the track beneath that. There's a right-banked upward bit that isn't clear how/where it'll continue
  8. What in tarnation... It looks like a downward-stengel-stall if I'm not mistaken Also, take a look at the new ledgers in the bottom middle of this picture (banked upward right) - Where on earth is the track going to go next??? Green: Ledgers Red: Track and ledgers
  9. They just need to honestly redesign their old ball-busting seats/restraints and they're all good
  10. I didn't use any logic, I simply went to Google Earth, drew a polygon around the outline of Accelerator, then had Google earth tell me the area of that polygon. I'm FAR more inclined to trust Google Earth's measured size of the ride's footprint than your "feelings" regarding how big the you think the ride should be. I neither know nor care what the size of your garden is. I also fail to see how the size of your garden has anything what-so-ever to do with the size of the footprint of Accelerator. You can't argue with the actual footprint of the ride, it's not an opinion.
  11. Banshee?? Great?? It's decent, but it's not by any means great. I can agree with that. I can name like 5 other US B&M Inverts I prefer - I think it's overrated compared to what some people say, but I also don't think that coaster is "forceless" or a "snoozefest"
  12. I think the intensity, speed, and airtime are all reasons that I strongly prefer I305 to Fury, MF, Skyrush (or whatever besides Lightning Rod)... But I guess I can see why some babies don't like I305? Whatever
  13. I agree. Saying all B&Ms are "Boring & Mild" of whatever is such a worn out meme at this point. Especially since coasters like Fury, Mako, and Banshee are all forceful and/or great!
  14. As well as Spinning Dragons and Timberland Twister (now Fairly Odd Coaster). Nickelodeon Universe has never had any association with Cedar Fair though I never said they did. They operated Knott's Camp Snoopy at Mall of America up until 2006. Have a source on that? As far as I can tell MOA shared licensing with Knott's Berry Farm in 1992 (Neither KBF or MOA was owned/operated by CF at this time). In 1997 Cear Fair bought Knott's Berry Farm and used the Knott's name at several SoCal waterparks. They also acquired Peanuts licensing in 1997 with this purchase. Then when the licensing (for MOA) was up for renewal in 2006, Cedar Fair chose not to let MOA keep the Peanuts or Knott's branding, so they re-branded everything. But I don't see CF having any operation/ownership of MOA from 92-97 or 97-06.
  15. As well as Spinning Dragons and Timberland Twister (now Fairly Odd Coaster). Nickelodeon Universe has never had any association with Cedar Fair though
  16. Buying a ride last year IS a relationship, wtf are you talking about? Not saying any of the coasters will be Gerst, but you can't so sure of yourself... You don't know anything.
  17. You always have the best sarcastic posts! EDIT: I know you're serious with that list, but I think putting those two coasters over Lightning Rod is hilarious I get that opinions are opinions, it's cool to have them and everything. Lightning Rod is just objectively better then them in every measurable way. I also wouldn't consider your 7-10 in my top 25, but people look for different things in coasters I guess? I just know you've been on Skyrush and I305, so it's blasphemous to see any of those looping B&Ms ahead of those two. *IMO*
  18. New track and new ledgers! Green: ledgers placed Red: Track placed (That missing section of ledgers may exist, but I haven't seen pictures yet)
  19. Framing for the Stengel dive back through the lift after the upward roll. It will end in a double down and then hop/turn into the mcbr. The ledgers placed so far are indicating this as the layout until the mcbr (obviously the drop is speculated)
  20. Getting a lot closer to all. Currently 10/11 Read about my opinions here 1. Lightning Rod 2. Outlaw Run 3. Medusa Steel Coaster 4. Iron Rattler 5. New Texas Giant 6. Twisted Colossus 7. Joker 8. Storm Chaser 9. Wicked Cyclone 10. Goliath
  21. Saw this online. No idea where it is (or if it's a legit Wiegand ride), but HOLY SHIT. This is dangerous as hell!
  22. I mean, their "ultra specific" plan also has a clone of X-Flight (which is never mentioned in writing). That whole document seems more like a proposal of possibilities for expansion instead of literal plans. It very well could be an impulse, Intamin is apparently building a new one in China, but I wouldn't be sure on that being one of the four coasters quite yet. The only thing we know for sure about CGA is it's location in the park (which happens to have an impulse in one rendering, to be fair). But if Cedar Fair starts working with Intamin again, that's a great thing! In my personal opinion, I think it would an impulse would be a strange choice for CGA considering their only competing theme park has had one for 15+ years (but that didn't stop them from building a GCI, so *shrug*?)
  23. There's this: I think the new info from the conference call brings up a lot of possibilities. Obviously CP and KD will get RMCs. It seems CGA and Knott's are the contenders for the other two coasters. I think I'd be happy with anything either would get! But "Ledge" sounds like a name for a KBF Coaster (Mack? Intamin? lol)
  24. http://ir.cedarfair.com/investor-home/default.aspx Cedar Fair Quarterly Earnings Statement, Confirms 4 new coasters for 2018 Big details: -California's Great America already has markers showing up for their 2018 addition. Plans should be finalized by beginning of next year. -First of its kind coaster coming to the chain. -RMC Mean Streak hinted at, along with RMC Hurler -Previous Manufacturer is coming back for a project. Plenty of options to choose from (hopefully Intamin). -Demographic studies completed at 6 of their parks so far and has helped increase satisfaction and attendance at those parks as well. -No confirmation on what parks will be getting hotels just yet, but at the moment they want to roll out the sports complexes quickly. It's not posted in the media release, but was discussed in the Conference Call which is connected with that link for the Q1 earnings report. "completely new type of coaster, a dramatic transformation of two of our historical wooden coasters and a renewed relationship with a manufacturer who we have worked with in recent history that will add another coaster and deepen our pool of ride manufacturers." -From Matt Ouimet
