  1. I was really hoping that "Marchenpark" would finish higher. I loved how much they got of a non-coaster video.
  2. The top spin was closed I am planning on hitting the Swamp Fox tomorrow. After the whole "Closed hurricane" thing, I am hoping that it makes up for it. // The spookhouse at the Pavillion is the tits
  3. PNC Park is an awesome park. It has a great view, excellent ticket prices, and where other stadium server Primanti Sandwiches! My least favorite is most likely Tropicana in St Pete. It is just horrible! I liken it to watching a game in an airplane hanger.
  4. Since the hotel next door was kiind enough to donate some internet connectivity (wireless is a beautiful thing), I though I would post a couple little small updates from the road. Shore Drive. This is where our condo resides A shot of the "Place at the Beach" complex. The hotel that I am stealing my wireless connectivity from The entrance to our place for the next few days Of course we had to stock the refridgerator ourselves After we settled in, we headed to the pavillion for a couple hours. Unfortunately, Hurricane did not get the message that I would be in town as it will be closed for the next two weeks. Catrina and Ang pose for a shot on the midway Brandon and Ang pose for a shot on the Little Eagle Number 203! Cha-Ching The pavillion is one to one of only a couple Caterpillars operating with the canopy Not the best shot, but I had to grab a picture of the Mad Mouse (Number 204!). This ride is a little bumpy, but that makes it a lot more crazy than the typical mouse. With it's carnival type atmosphere, the Pavillion has a real traditional appeal to it. More to come!
  5. No. It was a grind-core/noise/jazz band. We were called ... The Queeves Here is an interview with our lead singer: http://cornzine.com/interviews/matt_welsch-vs-sean_goddard/ Warning: Super bad language
  6. .... and you brag about it here! Do you realize that Robb has a very good relationship with many parks and doesn't want you airing the guerilla camera BS on his forums. I .... just .... don't .... care!
  7. Another funny pic from the old days I am a Rock Star
  8. another one for me: http://www.myspace.com/makeshiftallstars
  9. Sometimes it just can't be avoided. Typical Flame Process: 1. Someone voice personal opinion 2. Someone disagrees 3. Person who voiced original opinion fires 4. Person who disaggrees fires back You have to have all 4 of those step to constitute a flame war. That means to prevent one all you have to do is eliminate one step! Examples: 1. If someone disagrees with you just simply say "that is just my opinion and your allowed to have yours and I respect that" 2. After the person fires their first shot, just simply ignore it Hope this helps. Sometime you just have to turn the other cheek and walk away. Your not going to lose any man points for it.
  10. ^ It will definately be a looper. I have seen the parts in person and talked to John and Dick. // nobody believes me
  11. ^ Are you camping at RRC?
  12. I bet that Wet and Wild is really pumped up about this
  13. You need to look at your history a little bit. You can't just pull-out. Once you have started, you have to finish. // That sounded bad Anyway. What kind of resolve do we show the rest of the world, when we pull out of Iraq and watch it become a fundamentalist government. If you think that Hussein was crazy, what do you think a Islamic Fundamentalist would be like with all of that oil money in his hands. Don't forget that a road trip with a pocketful of money to the former USSR will net you all kinds of good stuff. Hussein might not have flown the plane into the Twin Towers (and if you didn't care, then surrender your US citizenship now), but he had the money and resources to aid a terrorist in planning MUCH worse attacks against the US.
  14. Many years ago, Bisch Rocco created the greatest ride known to man. They created a center spinning amusement with metals arms and 8-10 tubs hanging from cables. To further display their love for the park enthusiast, they put fins on the tubs that would allow 1-2 people the ability of changing the pitch of the tub as it rotatated. With this clever creation, the "pilot" could now control the ascent and descent of his tub. Soon the public discovered that if you fly the tub to it's extreme capabilities, you could create slack on your trip down and store that energy for your next climb. When the tub would fly back to the top, the cable would snap drawing the attention of everybody around. Hence, "Snapping" was born. Over the years, many of these creations have been bought up by "chain" amusement parks and some have just closed forever. Knoebels is one of only a handful of parks that run the ride how it was meant to operate. Every October, enthusiasts from around the US make the trip to Knoebels for a park sponsored event called Phoenix Phall Phunfest (PPP). Over the years Phunfest has become "The event". It is a time when all the enthusiasts say their goodbyes for the summer season. In the mid-90's, a man named Todd Long organized a camp consisting of mostly people who regularly post to a newsgroup RRC. At the top of the campgrounds, you will find them every year. Camp RRC created sort of an un-official side event to PPP called flyer fest. During these precious moments, some of the best Flyer pilots take the controls and the crowd watches in amazement as they witness the Flyers do things they have never done before.
  15. ^ Forbes Ave. Home to the funniest bums ever. I swear some of them are building mansions with the money they hustle off PITT students.
  16. I never really realized that you could make the tub collide till the last time I rode behind Todd. I was bracing myself for impact. // Less than 3 months till PPP
  17. Great TR! I really enjoy reading everyone's Knoebels experience because I love the park that much. If you go to PPP and watch Todd, Tim, Walt, Punk, and Steve you will hang up your Flyer shoes forever. Well maybe not, but it is a trip.
  18. Martins must be the most "driven by" park of all time. I have drove by it about 6 times and I still haven't stopped. I promise to stop next time.
  19. Who am I to deprive the Mantis and Iron Dragon fish of a decent meal.
  20. Congratulations Memphish. Actually, I voted you #1 also.
  21. I was going to be my usual "Smart-ass" self and post this, but ....
  22. It is messy as hell, but here is my work desktop.
  23. Knoebels isn't getting a Chance "Rock and roll" or whatever they call them. They are getting the REAL DEAL. An original Herschell looper. These things are rarer than straight ACE members over 40! I can't wait. Herschell Looper - From Dave Althoff's Site
  24. If the bet is "There will be a brake block on the straight track", then i will wager a beer the first time we meet.
  25. Another location diagram. http://www.coasterfanatics.com/files/hw_voyageplacement.jpg Ok ... so i got bored at lunch.
