  1. Folks, I need to have my head checked, but in response to a void on the west coast and a number of other reasons, that if you are interested in reading I can share later, I am announcing the West Coast Haunters Convention. May 20 to the 23 2010. We have a great line up of speakers in the works, and super vendor pricing, We are working to make this trade show and workshops a big success. you can check out the beginnings of our work at www.westcoasthaunters.homestead.com ( I should have a dot com in a short time) Please feel free to get in touch booth space is limited to 30 this first year, if we do well, and I think we will, I have a plan in motion! We will move to bigger digs in 2011. I hope to have hotels on board in a weeks time and at least one tour set up by the end of the month, gosh is it december already? Thank you for reading I hope to hear from some of you soon. Ed Roberts Oregon School for the Deaf the Nightmare Factory West Coast Haunters Convention!
  2. Drove past the park today to see that the Ripper is being dismantled and moved to god knows where. I will find out as soon as I can, rumor was that a state fair in either Texas or California bought the ride, but I can not confirm this rumor. Sad to see it go, it was the reason I worked at Thrill-Ville to start, then I became manger... I am glad to hear it has been sold and not for scrap! I will update when I learn more.
  3. ^ It is, but it doesn't make less distugsting while trying to eat dinner. Try the capt. Crunch chicken stips, darn good.
  4. She has been there forever then... Good for her, man I really need to get down to SFMM before she decides to retire.
  5. Wonder if Marsha Cantu is still there, she was our super... Great lady.
  6. Mystic lake! I used to work at Mystic lake, started off in the Timber Mill then got promoted, well they called it a promotion, to carts, then to the ice cream stand, colossal cones. then to he lake where I had the pleasure of selling coke products to those poor people baking on those aluminum seats. What a crappy job, that one was.
  7. Me working the NIghtmare Factory at the Oregon School for the Deaf. This is our 21st year. Me and my monkey! Haven't always wanted a monkey?
  8. Keep: Buzz Space Mountian Star tours monorail subs autopia Move Jedi Academy into the Inoventions building and retheme the space to a star wars universe. For god sake get rid of HISTA, please. put in another crowd eating show, but not this dated thing. Bring back the night time shows that were in the Jedi sage after you move inside. Someone here had some great marketing ideas for robot store and gadget stores, grat idea, sell those led tee shirts and other nerd goodies. Keep the build you own light saber store, move it to the new star wars universe building. I'm telling you Disney you need to do this, have you seen the number of people that crowd around that little stage four or five times a day! Inoventions is a sad excuse for a show. Bring back the people movers, another crowd eater. I have mixed feeling about the astro jets being there at all, Disneyland has two rides that are the same. Getting rid of one is not a bad idea. Or just move it back to the top of the people mover.
  9. What a classic, great find. thank you for posting this!

  14. Found this gem on youtube just now!
  15. james, sadly Thrill-Ville shut its' doors two years ago, so now they get along just fine. During my time as GM at the park I had a good working relationship with the Toftee family over at Enchanted Forest. We got along, but much to the dismay of Enchanted Forest, the people I worked for did little to theme the park, or make it more than it was, a collection of old school rides on a paved lot. We did have a lot of lovely trees around us and we did have some nice grassy bits. There was just no real lay out to the place. Ove time the park became vastly better, at first there ws very little pavement, it was all gravel and dirt, a real bear to clean up. I think Mr Tofte would be glad Thrill-Ville is gone. BTW there are still a mess of great old rides for sale, including the Ripper and little ripper coasters.
  16. Vancouver is such a great town, get over to Graneville Island for some good eats and some fun shopping. If you have the time get over to Victoria island and see the gardens, they area amzazing. the ferry ride over is nice too. There are so many things to see and do while you are there, oh if you do get over to the island and can afford it eat at Murchies, mmmm. The zoo is nice, the museums are great, but I can't say enough about Graneville Island in the center of the town.
  17. This was used in the original version of ' the Shining'. I love this piece.

  21. ^^ I haven't this confused in a long time.... did she even say anything? Great find.
  22. Choc-o-bacony goodness. Man look at it... all the fat and salt all in one yummy bite. In Portland there's a doughnut shop, Voodoo Doughnuts, that sells a bacon maple bar. Never tried it, but hmm sounds to die for. Every fair I have been to has at least three or four hot tub vendors, I have no idea why either Great report, really enjoyed it.
  23. During the day they are sad, but I am sure at night they'll be all lit up and stuff!
  24. Been busy, Losing weight and keeping on the right track! As of today I have lost 44 pounds and am starting to feel the differance now!
