lol @ wonder coaster. Its nothing special and the more I look at it the more Im "meh" but itll have to do. Maybe with more supports done. I hate showing rides without supports. Ive done it before but not so keen on it now a days. -

Gotcha. Well it prolly wont work then since part of its enclosed and the other half not. Been awhile since Ive done anything like that in NL, so I couldnt remember if the engine would render that or not. I bet the whole thing has to be covered or it wont work period. -

Usually in contests I wouldnt disqualify for a breach of the rules, just a penalization based on severity. It levels the playing field. BTW DBru, how did you get your ride to act like it was nighttime (as far as the coloring the shadows went) without an environment? Because I tried enclosing my ride in the catwalks and the regular light still lights it up like a christmas tree. -

Nice to see some Toledo Love. I am from Oregon, the city on the east side of the river. Im about 5min from Packos. Interesting you remembered enough to stop there. But business is so crazy there (despite Toledo pretty much being run into the ground) that it has been cleaned up. Theres even a second Packos next to the new ballpark. -

my neck hurts just looking at that drop. Definitly not even as smooth or properly shaped as in RCT. -

Pay attention? Little harsh... Anyways, I was. On page 6. I didnt have a need to search 6 pages and read every single post. Especially when its late at night after spending like 5 straight hours building this coaster. As you get answers like that Eric, just update them to your first post. Itll make things like this a lot easier! -

For the sake of techincality...by entire station do you mean in the SIM or in the EDITOR. As in, the track piece itself inside the box or the entire station inside the box? -

So if I were going to build a coaster for this, does the entire station have to fit in the box? Or start in the box? Using a peice of track just long enough for a 6 car train pretty much maxes out the box at 19m. -

Your exit of the Immelman feels like it should unbank a lot quicker. Seems like Id gues maybe pulls around 1.0 on the lats in the outer seats. IT doesnt carry much speed out of it so Id expect a faster unbank. Decent design though. -

Unless BG handed them 50mil + whatever the coasters cost for that. Its marketing. You own the rights to a specific ride, you market that and people come to YOU instead of the competitor. -

But lets hope its everything MF should be and isnt. AKA Actually have airtime, directional changes and overall less boringness. -
There is an easy fix...always work with track segments that have similar lengths. Or split track segments so they become similar. Or, AHG your track to have like 10ft segments, then reprofile and bank as needed. Make sure the filter isnt very high either to retain your original track shaping.

Heres to hoping this ride has improved trackwork over your last few. You obviously have some skills in 3d modeling, texturing and video editing. But your trackwork has never been too hot. Vekoma Flyers, not that easy!

Eric, my GForces have been altered to be more realistic. I use a config file that makes the colors accurately represent real life. Could you please give us actual numbers instead of colors? Because whats red on my machine isnt on yours. So for the sake of both realism and for rating, could we have some numbers? Like... Verts +5.5 -1.2 -+1.2 Lats Those sound reasonable. Makes the ride realistic but with room to spare. -
[NL] Mission: Escape
Real replied to DBru's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
OK. Heres what I did: Cut out both the pre-mcb section and the post mcb section. Took down speeds for entrance and exits of those elements (for AHG purposes) and then got to work. Where I felt you were going for a certain...shape, I made sure to tell the AHG to stick to that banking. I had to alter the banking some since the last time you ran it through the AHG kinda botched it up. But that was simple. I also made sure all of the airtime segments were color coded as well so they didnt flip on me. I also made sure I kept the entrance and exit bankings exactly the same. I then added 0.25 of a heartline to your first half. Why? The transition right after the first turn where you bank hard to the right, the heartline showed a "hump" at the apex of that banking transition. Ideally, you want that to be a straight line, but yours moved upwards. If you wanted that, sorry, easy fix but adding the heartline removed it and made the transition have less laterals. I rinsed and repeated that process for the second half, adjusting banking for the second loop as it looked like you wanted a traditional banking loop. My first run through the AHG without touching that turned it into a Maverick-esque roll because of the shaping. So I had to rework the banking, color code it to save it there and then add a high filter so it would smooth out the banking a lil. What I have is a much cleaner, more revised version that took me all of 5minutes. WIth the original, it would be even better. missionescape_493.nltrack
