That is great advice for fansites to learn from and for me since I plan on starting a fansite. Too bad that website didn't base their material off of that. At first, the site looked like any normal fansite, but after looking at some of the forums and blog posts, it shows the lack of moderating in the site and following through with spelling and grammar.

I've actually started videotaping some of the trackwork. Most of it is looking at the coaster from above though. -

Don't wait until July. Finish it. I have no plan on stopping. I just mean that whatever extra I want to add to the coaster, I have until July to come up with more ideas to add them to the coaster to display. -

1/11/09 A tremendous amount of progress has happened today. The coaster is 85% finished and completion could probably happen next week, then the fun happens (you'll find out more farther down in the post). Today, I got the track to line up and run parallel to the lift hill. The coaster then drops down a hill after the turn and into a nice airtime hill. The track then flattens out when it passes the lift base where it will pass through a tunnel. Even though it's not built yet, the coaster will do another airtime hill, a steeply banked turn, another airtime hill and steep turn and then into the brakes. The station and pre-lift section have been built, but I plan on going back and adding the friction wheels and lift machinery later as well as modifying the station to allow the trains to flow though the it easier. I plan on finishing the trackwork next Saturday and here's some other tasks I plan to get done over time: -Add and test running (X-mas) lights to the coaster. -Get new trains and since K'nex doesn't make them anymore, I'll need to find some on eBay. -Add tunnels and maybe some scenery. Remember! I have until July to finish this! I do have the time to get creative with it. -Contact the people in charge of the carnival to get permission to display this (I'm sure they'd allow me to display this since the had something 10 times the size of Sandstorm displayed last year). By the way, someone generously made a logo for the coaster too. More Soon... The whole Sandstorm coaster so far. Next week, trackwork will be completed. The pre-lift. The tunnel section and adistant view of Sandstorm's station (under construction). The airtime hill. Mmm...tastey. The completed crossover and crossunder. Something looks different... -
BeemerBoy, you're right. My friend Matt built the old Hersheypark Crazy site, but overtime he became to busy to run it. Then overtime other sites started failing such as HPOnline and HPSlappy. The only reason why I'm building this site is because Matt is interested in bringing the site back and with some new and the latest info. I'll talk what you said over with him. If the site does continue, it would be smaller and more scaled back. I believe I did take this a little too far.

The forums were abandoned for a few years which caused them to be taken over by spammers. As far as for not posting a link, I apalogize because right now I am posting from my ipod.

I said earlier that the site you guys are talking about is the wrong one. Google Hersheypark Crazy and it's the first site on the list.

A lot has happened since July. The person who planned on helping us get an updated site up had backed out which caused us to make some changes. In October I purchased a web design program and started immediately on the site. At the beginning of December I was a quarter of the way through with the site when I got an idea to make the site more attractive. So for the past month I have redone what I had already done on the site and a lot more. The site is now Boardwalk-themed since the Seaquel is opening this year. Right now I have most of the main pages up. The timeline, and rides pages for all the rides in Founder's Circle, Comet Hollow, Music Box Way and half of Minetown done. I still need to finish the rest of the pages, work on the removed ride pages, add the food, shops, entertainment, and Boardwalk pages. i also need to get the forums up, purchase the hosting, and domain name. I plan on finishing the site sometime in February or March just in time for the summer season and Springtime in the Park. If anybody wants to donate some of their photos to use in the site, just drop me a private message. The navigation bar. The bottom of the removed ride list. The Removed Ride Database. I still need to make pages for the rides. The bottom of the timeline. The Park History page.

Pearl Island Vacation Complex
Ccron10 replied to Ccron10's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Greetings from warm and sunny Florida! It's always toasty here, but maybe that's why Pearl Island was built. I moved down here in 2000 to help with the construction of the island and hotels. Daytona Beach had had a decreasing tourist population over the last few years, so in 1999 a group of developers created Pearl Island. The first plans for Pearl Island were alsomost compared to what EPCOT at Disney World was like and what it turned out to be. Thousands of hotel rooms, many night clubs, a few rides, and clean sandy beaches. Once Pearl Island opened in 2000, the crowds weren't tremendous, but the complex held it's own. For 2001, the main hotel was finished and featured a breath-taking viewing deck on the top floor. In 2002, a boardwalk-style area was created with a decent-sized waterpark. I can still remember getting drenched while soaking guests inside the waterpark from the Super Soaker coaster! There were some big plans ahead for 2003 when the park would expand tremendously by adding an inverted coaster, kids area and teen area; but the park recieved a big blow in August 2002. Hurricane Geoffrey made landfall as a Category 4 storm just south of the island. Many of the coasters, rides and buildings weren't really built for a storm like that. Once the storm was over, the main access road to the island was gone, almost all of the buildings either were washed out to sea or collapsed from the winds. All of the park's rides and coasters suffered the same fate execpt for the Hurricane wooden coaster which, since it wasn't facing towards the sea, escaped the storm surge. With the aftermath, Pearl Island now only has one ride and was sold to a company known as Ccron Corp. Hopefully they can bring the island back better than it was before. I got a brochure today in the mail and it had this: Hopefully I can travel out there when this place opens! Too bad I'm not on the construction crew this time around! That's all for now! -

Worst Theme Park Websites
Ccron10 replied to raptor2011's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I agree even though their podcast is half decent. I think they'd be slightly more popular if they got rid of the advertisments. -
-Get in better shape. -Get 30 new coaster credits. -Be more open with people. -Hang out with friends more. -Finish HPCrazy.com sometime soon.

Most memorable coaster moment of 2008?
Ccron10 replied to TheHulk's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Right now only 2 come to mind. -Back in August I spent almost a full week at Knoebels. In that time I had to have gotten 5 to 10 rides on Twister and 10 to 15 rides on Phoenix. On the last day I visited the park I stayed until closing and got the last ride on Phoenix. Luckly the ride ops. gave us two rides in a row without stopping. They even turned off all the lights too. -My first ride on Fahrenheit because I've been waiting to ride it since they announced it. It is now my #1 steel coaster, but hopefully if I get to King's Island or Cedar Point this year, Diamondback or Maverick might top it. -
Parks Coasters and Rides in Movies and TV

They used Screaming Mummy from Pharoh's Lost Kingdom in that one. http://www.themeparkreview.com/parks/photo.php?pageid=142&linkid=1481 I think I saw that one a few weeks ago. Too bad I only saw the beginning of it. -

The Riding Coasters Naked Thread Part II! Putting the Phoenix on the moon would get interesting. -
(K'nex Coaster)Sandstorm
Ccron10 replied to Ccron10's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
I finally got my new camera and now it seems like the coaster is slightly past the half-way mark from being finished. Yesterday, I got the first drop from the second lift hill and half of the first cross-over finished. I plan on building the next couple of cross-overs next time and to finish the coaster, do a tunnel through the station, a highly banked turn and then into the brake-run. Then I will add the station track and finish the coaster's circuit. More to come. The coaster is getting massive. The first cross-over. It goes over the first drop. The first drop gradually turns. -
Are you seriously that bored that you have nothing better to do but always complain about my projects? I think it would be best if you stay out of posting in the threads unless you have something collective to say. Yes I did cancel this coaster because I really didn't have an idea on how many pieces I had at the time. If I do start this project up again, the height would be smaller.

Should I keep it or scrap it and make the coaster out of CS? -
Hersheypark 2011 [RCT3]
Ccron10 replied to Ccron10's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Fahrenheit and Storm Runner will be built without Custom Scenery! Even though the coasters had to be streched out in some sections, it is about as accurate as you can get. Only SR will be an operating coaster; FH was made with sections of different coaster track being connected together. Right now I only have a screen of FH, but expect more updates soon.
