The Official "TPR Japan Trip 2007" Thread
Sunfire replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I want to ride Blue Sex Fall so much! I've ridden Drop Zone at Great America, but it's only 224 feet tall. I'd love to ride Blue Fall in real life! And when it comes to Coke and Pepsi, I prefer Coke. While I like both, Pepsi tastes way too concentrated. Coke has just the right amount of sweetness. -
Yay! Under 250, that's awesome! And hooray for Hobbit feet!

^Is it just ironic that your username is "thefitness?" When it comes to Thanksgiving, it's always tradition for my family. But instead of just one family making the entire dinner, everyone makes something else and brings it, like a pot luck. Looks like tomorrow I'm gonna gain about 100 pounds.

^Give me your lunch money Jahan! Lol. That is cool that you're helping Robb. It's always easier to accomplish your goals when others support you! Okay, so I probably couldn't even come close to beating up Jahan. I'm too much of a weakling.

OMG, I remember 7th Portal and Smash Factory! I remember going on the 7th Portal, and I thought the 3d glasses were so cool (I was only about 9 years old). If I remember correctly, before Delirium was put in, that space was used as switchbacks for the FX theater! I can only imagine how long that wait would be... The other one I remember was Smash Factory. When I rode it with my dad, I was laughing so hard, and my dad was laughing to tears! I'd love to see these films return. While Spongbob is a fun simulator, it is getting old.

^I think 2007 was a quiet year for the park. Yes, we did get the wave pool for Boomerang Bay, but I don't really count that because it's not open for the whole season. 2006 was bigger because of Survivor, which of course has been a hit with the public. But for sure, 2008-09 will be very big for the park, what with its extended hours, new ice show, Halloween Haunt, and the two best things: Firefall and GCI wood! I can't wait! By the way, does anyone else notice that Cedar Fair has been trying their best to preserve attractions from the Marriott era? For example, they saved Orleans Orbit from being closed when Paramount would have torn it down, and the GCI will not affect the Pictorium or the Sky Tower. I like that CF is being creative!

Perhaps you could put masking tape around your hobbit feet. Anyways, the progress you've made so far is awesome Robb! You've inspired me to start eating healthier. I've been eating way too much junk food, and my body is paying the price. Most people don't see it, but I feel like a morbosity! I want to get all this flab off of me!

Demon at Cali's Great America has one of my favorite headchoppers: the rock right before the double corkscrew. It looks like you're going to hit it, but you're not in any danger. Thanks Arrow horsecollars!

Most rides in a day?
Sunfire replied to texcoaster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I've never ridden a coaster that many times in a row. But I do recall riding Tidal Wave at Great America about ten times in a row. It was a blast, seeing as I was about 9 years old. And recently, I was able to ride the park's Vekoma Invertigo about 5-6 times. I'd have ridden it more, but those things really pack a punch! I was too lightheaded at that point. Why, you may ask? -
Roller Coasters in the RAW DVD
Sunfire replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
That's hilarious! I love how the word "uncensored" covers the sexy twist on Abismo. I wish I had 10 dollars, but I'm broke. If I did, I'd buy this in a heartbeat! This dvd looks like we'll all need tissues when we see . -
Let's go back to talking about the worst ride name. Now I think the worst name for a coaster has to be Loop Screw. What the heck is that? "Yeah, let's go ride the Loop Screw!" It just sounds stupid.

^BTW, "Sky Buckets" is not the Delta Flyer skyride. It is the Triple Wheel, which was originally called Sky Whirl. Who else here LOVES Great America Parks? I learned so much about both the Santa Clara and Gurnee GA's back in their Marriott era. I'm partial to the Santa Clara park because I've gone there my whole life, and my parents met there in the 80's.

Game: When was the last time you...

A week and a half ago at Great America (Drop Zone, 224 feet). When was the last time you got a new credit? -

A couple of weeks ago when we had to replace our sink. When was the last time you went to the movies? -
No "Mile High Club" for the Airbus A380
Sunfire replied to robbalvey's topic in Random, Random, Random
I don't think many couples are going to follow this rule. If the A-380 has double beds in it, of course couples are going to have sex. It's almost like they're asking them to join the mile high club, only now it's so much easier with beds. -
Thanks to the TPR ASSistants, this forum is much better than a lot of others I have been in. When I first joined this, of course, being an immature 14 year old, I thought it was way too strict. But now, a year later, I see that these posting rules help so much. I may not have the biggest post count, but at least I can say the posts I have made contributed to the topic.

I think one of the reasons Tidal Wave was removed was not enough guests riding. I remember riding it about 8 years ago, and whenever I rode it, there were always little to no lines at all. That must have been it, it wasn't popular enough with the GP. But if the FX theater was not added, people would have been able to see the coaster, and it would be more popular and it would still have remained. So the FX theater is also at fault because it obstructed most of the ride from sight. I wish Paramount hadn't made some of the decisions they did. When I first heard that Cedar Fair was going to run Great America, and I heard about how they don't theme, my stomach turned to see how they would destroy the park. But from what I've seen, they're actually making a lot of improvements! If C.F. continues to run the park as well as they did for the 2007 season, then I believe that good things are in the future. Look at their plans. 2008: Firefall, new ice show, longer hours during the summer, and Halloween Haunt. 2009: a GCI woodie! I can't wait for the next two years to come!

^Aw man, my deepest sympathies for you. It's always sad to lose someone, even if they weren't your best friend ever. Today, I feel a little bit better with chemistry. I got a B on my unit test! Though I'm still annoyed with my teacher's methods, I know I can make it through. As long as I try my best, that's all that matters to me.

These posts do make sense about Stealth. The fact that it was a prototype should have spelled the end for it. At least now I understand why it was removed. Besides, the waterpark is more popular with the families and is a hit during the summer. Now, if Paramount could explain why they removed Tidal Wave AND Triple Play without replacement rides, my mind would be at rest. That's two Marriott classics gone that will never come back.

^That's good advice. I myself am not sure what I want to do when I get out of high school. But for now it would be nice to get a job in a theme park. I'm not expecting to become the CEO of Cedar Fair or something huge like that, just a smaller job such as ride op or landscaper.

What gender is the toothy fairy?
Sunfire replied to America Sings Freak's topic in Random, Random, Random
The tooth fairy has always been a female for me. But now I'm pretty much open to either gender after seeing the male tooth fairy in Family Guy... -
I love cheese. It's so good. Espectially Monterey Jack!
