This past December was my parents 30th anniversary so they decided to take all their "kids" on a Mexican Riviera Cruise. The stops were in Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan, and Puerto Vallarta with 3 freakin days at sea. I am not a fan with days at sea since this cruise ship wasn't really that big and there wasn't much to do after the first day at sea. I got a new camera for Christmas since my other one decided to crap out on me at Cedar Point earlier this year. Most of these pictures are me getting use to the new settings on my camera. Enjoy Boarding the Ship and Day 1 After finding out from Cassie's parents that it snowed earlier in Tucson we headed to the ship to head to paradise. My mom always likes to get to the ship earlier so we can check it out before all the huge crowds of old people show up and slow everything down. On to the pictures for more of the story... The sun sets over the ocean, the green flash appears (if you don't know what the green flash is than wikipedia it) and next stop Cabo San Lucas That was our Day at Sea #1. Very exciting. Here's dad looking for whales (which we saw quite a few) Checking on the rest of the group...yep, still wine tasting While Cassie and I walk around the ship. Wine is not our cup of tea...actually I wouldn't like tea either. Give me a beer any time Meg watching to make sure she gets enough wine Day at Sea #1 starts with wine tasting! That's the end that night...Next up, a day at sea Jeff's having a good time with his very very dirty Martini Like Father like Daughter. Scary! It was disco rama Night that night too. Dancing Queen! Yes, I just quoted ABBA and no, I have not seen Mama Mia even though it played 3 times a day every day on the cruise. No one can tell us to behave at dinner! The real family picture The first night was Formal Night. Why? I don't know but they made us dress up The sunset to darkness...eerie ...two people have already dranken to much champagne As the sun slowly sets in the West and a light house can be seen in the near distance... Good bye port of LA, you suck Cassie's first cruise ever...let's hope this goes well. And me, when I'm just glad there are drinks to be had Cheers! I'm looking for the real drinks behind our very own wet bar. Bon Voyage! Let's get the hell out of LA before we get shot Our room was so cool, we could talk to the captain since the bridge was right next to our balcony. The captain was from Hungary Walking back to the room Jeff had to use a tissue from this very large tissue box Meg very unpleased that her brother doesn't have a life jacket. At the drill. Yeah, I didn't have a life jacket in my room so if the boat were to sink now I would have to pull a Jack from Titanic and tough it out. Titanic, another great film to watch before a cruise! The proper way to wear a life jacket Cassie getting ready to the stupid "Here's your lifeboat and we are taking roll-call" Drill View from our table. The ceiling reminds me of Posieden Adventure when the ship flips over and one guy falls of a table and into lights on the ceiling that look like that. Great flick to watch before youtake a cruise...along with Speed 2:Cruise Control Here's our dining room. Take note people: Second seating is usually better because the waiters don't feel as rushed and if there are extras of anything they usually bring them out to you. I got 5 servings of escargot one night and three servings of some fancy desert. Second seating is the way to go! Meg chillin in the Theater waiting for Dark Knight to start playing in about 8 hours Here's the Theater where the best thing in here is that they played Dark Knight at 12am everynight. Other than that, the shows usually really suck hardcore Checking out another lounge and dance floor in the back of the boat Take a note: You tend to lose your mind when visiting the Casion on Cruise Ships These slots are about to get a workout. People pulling on their shafts and slapping the sides of their faces and screaming profanaites at them. It's an all out orgy once these slots open up Time to check out the Casino when it's not filled with smoke or people losing money Jeff posing with a very happy looking jester Pretty amazing piece of artwork if you believe in Santa Claus Cassie checks out the gingerbread houses Looking down in the centrium. They still had Christmas displays out for those that celebrate Christmas and are not Jewish Looking up in the centrium Smoke Stack for all those smoke stack enthusiasts The Viking Crown lounge where the was much dancing and booze to be had later Shuffle Bored...yes, spelled that way for a reason Alright, enough of our awesome room, time to check out the "little guy" ship View from our balcony Cassie testing out the piano. It works! You could even set it to play music for you and it moved the keys just like in the Haunted Mansion BTW, there was a working grand piano in our room complete with a mirror on the ceiling for when youa re playing some awesome solo's Balcony with a beautiful view of Los Angeles harbor and the smell of fart Jacuzzi Bathtub and shower with 3 shower heads. which you can turn on all at once (which is how everyone should take a shower in the morning) This is half of the bathroom. The other half had another sink and the crapper. This portion had two sinks, 3 cabinets for towels, jacuzzi bathtub and shower with three shower heads Another view from the master bedroom looking out to the balcony and main room The Master bedroom compete with mirror on the ceiling just like those "fancy" rooms in Las Vegas More of the suite and Cassie running away to check out more of this huge room Here's our room. We styaed in the Royal Suite because we have connections unlike Big Mike says he does. Here's our ship, it's a midget compared to the one Robb and Elissa were on. Or to be PC, it's a little guy Here we are getting on the ship. Dad, Cassie, Me, Mom, Meg and Jeff

Cruising with Theme Park Review 2008!
JimmyBo replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This update makes me more excited when we go on our Mexican Riviera cruise over New Years. That ZipLine looks way better than the one we are going on but think I'd rather trust a Haitian ZipLine of that size than a Mexican one any day. Can't wait for more updates and especially updates from THE MIDNIGHT BUFFET! -

Robb, wouldn't you think that your wings would make you have explosive diarrhea therefore you should lose more weight the more wings you have? Jimmy "I'm just giving you an excuse to have more wings" Bo -
If you guys need any extra help with camera shooting then send me a PM. I would love to help you guys out since I'm down in Tucson now. Jimmy "Love the first hoodie movie and can't wait for this one" Bo

Eric's 2008 Theme Park Adventures Updated 4/5
JimmyBo replied to live2tell75's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Great reports so far Eric! I'm enjoying your Texas stuff because it reminds me of the trip I took a couple summers ago. Was the Mexican place you went to Rita's on the River? That's where we ate when we went there and they had amazing Margarita's! It was also nice to see stuff inside the Alamo since we went able to walk around it too much. Great reports! -
Six Flags Magic Mountain Terminator Salvation: The Ride
JimmyBo replied to robbalvey's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Having one large concrete slab footer DOES take time off of construction, planning, and engineering. Image having to place a lot of squares for each and every footer around a site rather than just pouring the whole damn thing with concrete. Also, I'm assuming while designing the ride they don't have to worry as much about where a footer is placed because the whole thing will be concrete. And it's not like this is a terrain coaster like Thunderhead. Maybe they will have giant Terminator robots stuck in the concrete slab by the first drop...who knows? Or they might have inflatable Rock'em Sock'em Terminator robots as an upcharge. Only time will tell! Jimmy "Not sad about Deja Vu being closed" Bo -
I have stock in Cedar Fair and it isn't worth sh*t compared to when I got it. And frankly, I enjoyed Paramount's Kings Dominion very much when I visted there before the evil Cedar Fair took it over so don't go bashing Paramount Parks before the Cedar Fair take over. There may be only a few but some people enjoyed them a little bit more than they are now.

Roller Coasters in the RAW - A new TPR DVD!
JimmyBo replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I have some old footage you might be able to use Robb...I sent you a PM. Also, I just realized that I have some footage of Hypersonic XLC and King's Dominion the last year it was open. I forgot to include that in the PM but I didn't see it on your list of rides. I think it's great that you guys are going to do a defunct RAW because I know, at least for me, I wished I could have gotten on some rides before the wrecking ball destroyed them. I think it's a brilliant idea! Jimmy "Can I order RAW 3 now?" Bo -
^Don't worry about it Robb, it happened on the previous order I made with the first discs working fine but then the second ones not working. I think it's just my DVD player since it is getting up there in years. The DVD's play just fine on my computer and my friends DVD player. I just think my DVD player decides to go EMO every now and then just to piss me off. Great DVD's though Jimmy "Can't spell tonight" Bo

^You're in the land of the KKK...should we be following you or turning you in to the police for your white sheets with eye holes that hangs in your closet? Jimmy "Still sexier than Guy" Bo -
Just watched Disc 1 for both RAW 2 and Japan-A-Mania 2! The second discs didn't work in my DVD player but I have a back-up plan by going to my friends house tomorrow to watch them because his DVD player is better than mine. First off, Japan-A-Mania 2 was freakin hilarious. Honestly, I don't think I've laughed as hard as I did since seeing the Midwest DVD. Everyone on that trip seemed to have something funny to say in the DVD or at least punch Ryan in the cock (still my favorite segment). Tom eating crap over the fence in the parking lot will never get old. This DVD really brings out what Japan has to offer and from the looks of it Japan seems like a place I really want to travel to. Japan-A-Mania 2 really delivers the hilarious atmosphere when Theme Park Review visits theme parks anywhere in the world. That being said...go punch Ryan in the cock. RAW 2...I was only able to watch Disc 1, which was the woodies, and I must say that I am really becoming a fan of the unedited, no music videos you guys create. It was great to see woodies from the first TPR England trip and some as recent as the Korea trip. These POV's really bring out what it could feel like being on a coaster. Sure, a video never does a coaster justice but I think you guys definitely made me think of traveling places to ride some of these rides featured in RAW 2. Keep it up Robb and Elissa! Jimmy "If you haven't bought these DVD's then you need to buy them now" Bo

JimmyBo replied to robbalvey's topic in Random, Random, Random
Keep up the good work Robb. At this rate, it seems like you will be bringing sexy back before Guy. Seems like he has been trying to bring sexy back for over a year now. Way to go! Maybe after this diet you can try the Spartan diet! -
Gravity Group Announces "Timberliner" Trains
JimmyBo replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I don't know what a woddie is but my best guess is that the sound system will work the same way as it does for a loud stellie. There are woddies out there that aren't as loud when you are riding it compared to when you are watching it from ground level. Same thing goes for stellies...look at Superman at SFMM. That ride isn't as loud as when you are riding compared to the ear bleeding sound when you are standing underneath it. Anyway, glad to see GG making in effort to make new trains and offer some new things to old rides. If they have a good used-car salesmen I'm pretty sure they could sell a lot of these. I still am interested in seeing a full scale version of it though. Jimmy "Buy the TPR DVD'S" Bo -
Mystery Mine...IN THE RAW!!!
JimmyBo replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Great video Robb and Elissa. I can't wait for this DVD to arrive in the mail. As I have mentioned before I really enjoyed the first Volume. Also, like your regular DVD's the first couple were ok but then they started kicking some major @$$...I have a feeling that the RAW series will become a favorite of many people on TPR in the years to come because they will progressively be getting better. Jimmy "RAW is awesome!" Bo -

Holy Sh*t! Are you serious? I used to go to Knott's every year for my birthday from age 4-8 and I remember playing in that playhouse. God Damn you Knott's and Cedar Fair! Next time I'm going to Knott's I'm only going to ride Pony Express for the credit and then spending the rest of the day at TGI Friday's to drink my sorrows away.

Six Flags Mexico (SFM) Discussion Thread
JimmyBo replied to zburns999's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
HOLY CRAP! I might actually have a reason to go to Mexico rather than drugs and cheap booze! Since AZ does border Mexico I might as well take a trip down there sometime next year in my busy schedule. Thanks for keeping us up-to-date and posting the official announcement. -

Way to go Robb. I believe in you. If I ever find a WiiFit out here in AZ I was totally going to use this as a source of exercise. You know what the monks say..."If you have more exercise in your life, you can drink more beer and it won't show in your gut." Good luck fatty...I mean Robb -
Lagunasia, Japan - A new TPR Video!
JimmyBo replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^Tom and normal should not be in the same sentence. At least he fell doing a hurdle and didn't fall when he was jumping over. He may have crush his nuts so he is lucky he fell the way he did. By the way, already ordered the DVD's and can't wait till they are shipped out -

Best coasters in Texas???
JimmyBo replied to thrillgeek's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It's all about the Texas Tornado at Wonderland in Amarillo. It's waaaaaay better than any other ride in Texas...even the Mini Mine Train at SFOT. Second to Texas Tornado would be Journey to Atlantis at SWSA. Jimmy "If you don't believe me then buy my DVD" Bo -
PTR - The old man tags along on TPR's China trip
JimmyBo replied to OldJJman's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Great pictures Old Man. I agree with Bob and I really like the night pictures of Hong Kong. That place looks amazing and it seemed weird that there were no people around the town. I can't wait to see the rest of your updates. Do you have High Resloution pics of some of the night shots? Or maybe some stiches? -
Placed my order and sending my money in tomorrow. I can't wait to see the RAW DVD as I really liked the first one. As for the ending of the video...that was freakin hilarious. I hoping he would hop over them but miss and land right on his ball sack but eating pavement the way he did was just as awesome.
