Yahoo released the top 10 viewed trailers for 2009 today. Only reason I am posting this is a HUGE surprise at number 8, which happens to be extremely TPR friendly. I never knew there was a trailer for this. http://movies.yahoo.com/feature/2009-top-trailers.html

I'm going to see George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic on January 15th. I got a chance to see them in 2000 and it was probably the best show I've ever seen. They played for 4 hours not letting up one bit.

Agreed 100%. My biggest problem from the Colts resting people is it had backfired on them pretty much every time they've done it. The only time they won it all was when they played out the entire season. As for the rest of the AFC, thanks to all the mediocre teams for hanging around and making week 17 very interesting. There are so many different scenarios that can play out for a bunch of teams to get in as a wildcard. -

^ That's cool for free tickets, they are the best. My wife and I had free tickets for Broncos - Chefs at Arrowhead a few weeks ago, also in the end zone. The only bad thing about sitting in the end zones, is sometimes its tough to tell yardage gained. The one thing I did was watch where the line judge would run to spot the ball since they always stand on the sidelines where the yards are marked. Speaking of the Broncos, I'm going to go ahead and say the season is done in 2 weeks. I just don't see them going into Philly and winning there, which is now a must win. Also, say what you will about Kyle Orton, he may not be the best QB, but he knows that system very well and has exceeded everyone's expectations. I think Denver still needs a lot of work on the defensive front. The secondary is not so young. They also need work on the offensive line. Other than Clady, there is no standout lineman and they are all injured way too much. Losing Ryan Harris hurt. -
The Chisox did get Juan Pierre, perfectly logical to switch.

^ That would be cool, as long as it wasn't on the beach. Robert Edwards could have been a great back, but some rookie sand flag football game destroyed his knee. As a serparate rant, I really don't get why the Colts are hinting at resting players. Everytime they have done it backfires and they come out flat in the playoffs. There is always a risk of getting hurt. Would you sit Manning in week 1 or 5? -
I'm actually not too thrilled about the whole Halladay deal. I think the Phils are giving up too much for basically a swap of Lee and Halladay. I really like Happ and Drabek is supposed to be the Phils future, but one of them is probably gone. If the Phils are going to pay Halladay 20 million per, what the hell was Lee asking for?

^ I would love to see that, but I think he's too laid back for it. Phillip Rivers was all over him on the field and all he said was "I don't like that guy," and moved on. I think he's more likely to have a Vince Young type breakdown only worse if the fans turn on him. -

The Dan has never gotten it for the Redskins. That guy treats his team like a fantasy football team. Just go out and get the big names, all will fall into place. -

That is definitely true about the line and receivers, they aren't helping Cutler at all. I'll admit I loved his bravado as a QB when he was with Denver, but that bravado would kill them more than help them. Orton has absolutely benefitted from a good line and much better receivers. McDaniels system is also catered to the type of QB he is. Its not that far off of what he ran at Purdue. Which proves the point again, you can take an average QB and make him look great if he's in the right system. -

Best stat of the season. Jay Cutler leads the NFL with 17 INT's, team is 4-5. Kyle Orton 26th in INT's with 4, team is 6-2. Welcome to the Jay Cutler era Bears fans. He could be a great QB, but his stubborness in relying on his arm strength on impossible throws will forever plague him. -
Sabremetrics... 60% of the time it works everytime.

What can you say about the Yankees except, at lest they aren't from Canada.

I would much rather have a pitcher hit, that leads to more strategy near the end of the game when you have to pull the pitcher. With a DH the manager just has to keep the hitters in, no juggling of the lineup and double switches.

What Was the Last Beer You Drank?
bigstevet07 replied to robbalvey's topic in Random, Random, Random
Ok, I need a little help from fellow beer drinkers. I am going to be in New Castle DE next week until Thursday, then Hummelstown PA until Sunday. I am wanting to try some new stuff that you can't get in Nebraska. I already know that I am going to try some Troeg's and Dogfish Head, but where are some good places that I can try some microbrews and get some good grub too? Any info would be appreciated. -

Denver is 5-0 fo the first time since 98. This is crazy, I think I might start drinking a little of the orange kool-aid now. They should go at least 10-6 this year. I guess Mr. Brady truly isn't magical after all. He is now 1-6 (including playoffs) against the Broncos. His only win was a fluke game where Elam got hurt in the 1st quarter and Denver had to go for it on the 30 multiple times, which left points on the field. Only thing I can take away from the game yesterday is Orton > Brady. -

Ok, I'm going to make a quick response on the whole Brady thing. I'm going to leave it at this since I don't want this thread to head right back where it was a while ago. Satch, you need to take off your Patriots blinders. If you were a fan of the Ravens and saw the other QB clearly pout and throw a fit for a very borderline call, you would have been beyond upset. I'm not a Brady hater, I think he's one of the better QB's in the league. I don't think he's magical (sorry Scott), I think he manages the game extremely well and keeps the team in position to win. My problem is the way he is treated by the media and Patriot fans as he can do no wrong. He gets a free pass on everything. He had a quote about 4 years ago saying he thinks QB's aren't nearly protected enough. Now there was a little blurb on ESPN about it, but if some other QB in the league, barring Manning were to say that, they would have been vilified and taken through the ringer by the media and fans. Brady got a pass. That is all, I won't say anything on Brady, other than I'm looking forward to my #1 scoring defense and Elvis Dumervil getting a crack at him. -

Yeah he was probably 3 yards in the end zone on the ground when the guy hit him. -
Just started hearing about this hip hop group a couple of weeks ago. I'm definitely feeling this group. They all can actually flow, and the beats don't sound anything like what everything else does. I'm eagerly waiting for their first major CD release. Hip hop fans should do yourself a favor and check out Pacific Division. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yIqCCYwYO9s&

Yeah but that shouldn't matter. It should actually make it an easier call since once he crossed the goal line the play is over. I do feel that defenders get away with late hits on the ground all the time. You always see that one guy make a diving hit when the play is pretty much done. -
Bud Selig just threw up in his mouth a little. MLB definitely doesn't want two small market teams in the WS. While it would be a nice change of pace for baseball fans, it would be a nightmare for MLB. That being said, I'm obviously pulling for the Phils. Lee was fricken amazing yesterday, and Hamels (who's going today,) has been awesome for the past two months. The Phils should be up 2-0 today.

Phillies get the Rockies again. The Phils have much better pitching than last time though and they will roll to the NLCS. As for TBS, thank you for screwing me the 3rd year in a row by giving the Phillies day games during the work week.

Agreed, unfortunately my parents thought a 1990 ford escort with 95,000 miles and no AC would do the trick. But the sparkomatic tape deck that came with it was awesome. It would play at least 4 songs before slowing down and then every song was sung by Barry White. As for the poll, I would probably go with the Mazda. The Civic is the #1 stolen car every year, and I think the Mazda looks a little nicer as well.

Flyers open up the season tonight against the Canes. I'm not quite sure what to expect with the additions of Pronger and Emery. Hopefully the defense will be much improved.
