  1. I would have to add DJ Red Alert, Kid Capri, and possibly DJ Cool Herc. They all got their fame from spinning records on tracks for MC's. Can't forget Spinderella and Kay Gee from Naughty By Nature.
  2. Maybe they should re-theme the ride to a dairy farm instead of a vineyard now.
  3. Inglourious Basterds was great. I would put it up there as one of Tarantino's best. Its not as good as Pulp Fiction and Resevoir Dogs IMHO, but it is not far below them. Brad Pitt was great, as was the guy who play the Jewhunter for the SS. I could see the guy who played the Jewhunter getting a best supporting actor nod. I really loved the fact this wasn't a pointless, lets go out an brutalize nazis for 2 1/2 hours. The story and plotline was great.
  4. Its just amazing the talent they have traded in the past 6 years. Here is what could be their starting position players. This could easily be a playoff team in the NL Central, barring horrible pitching. C Jason Kendall to A's 1B Adam Laroche to Red Sox 2B Freddy Sanchez to Giants SS Jack Wilson to Mariners 3B Aramis Ramirez to Cubs LF Jason Bay to Red Sox CF Nate McLouth to Braves RF Xavier Nady to Yankees P Ian Snell to Mariners
  5. Sorry no pics, but last week we were in Geneva IL visting a friend. I had a Bell's Oberon Ale at Country House. I thought it was an excellent summer beer, midly fruity ( not like Leiney's Sunset Wheat which I think tastes like Fruity Pebbles,) and had some good spices with it. I just wish Beertopia carried Bell's here which they don't. Also had dinner the next night at Nick's Pizza and Pub in Elgin. I had the Nick's Golden Ale which was basically a standard pub ale. Refreshing but nothing too exciting.
  6. Fixed, other than Ron Santo. The only reason Ron is so bad is because he is the biggest homer to call a game. My favorite McCarver line... "Innings with a lead off home run statistically score more runs than innings with a lead off walk." I would have never figured that out. LOL at 14 straight division titles with one championship. Another great report Scott, even if it took 2 months for one. You can send that Phillies media guide to me anytime.
  7. My uncle was one of the guys that helped design that park. He can get tickets to a game anytime he wants, and he's gone to opening day and that's it. That is how bad the Pirates are. It is a beautiful park though. I do agree that being a small market affects them, but scouting talent has to play a role in how bad they have been. Obviously there are numerous small market teams that have managed to have some winning seasons before having to get rid of all their young talent. Plus being the 3rd team in a city (Steelers, Penguins) will always affect them.
  8. Man I miss Philly. Tony Luke's is cool if you want something other than a philly. But if you want a philly, you go to Geno's or Pat's. I think Geno's or Pat's are pretty equal. The only difference is whehter you want your cheesesteak chopped up or not. How could you do a musuem/slash culture tour and hit up the museum of art? Its only where the most famous stair running scene in the history of movies was filmed.
  9. I would say the the Phils are there for now up until 2011 or so. That is when Howard and some other big names will be FA's. I'm not really looking forward to what could happen after that. I do think the Phils are tapped out though. If they somehow land Halladay and extend him, they may make a move to be able to fit him into their own set salary cap.
  10. I saw .38 Special, Styx, and Reo Speedwagon last night. It was a pretty good show. It was the last stop on the tour so they did some goofing off. Styx and Reo came out in a conga line during .38 Special's set. A guy from .38 Special came out in nothing but a towel and brushing his teeth during Styx set. The roadies and .38 Special came out front row center with the crowd during Reo's set. Personally I thought Styx was the weakest. Maybe that's because they couldn't play any of the song's written by Dennis DeYoung. Overall it was a good concert definitely worth the price (free).
  11. As a Nationals and Zimmerman fan, I agree. Zim is having a good year, but Sandoval deserved it. Although Victorino was the 2nd best choice (congrats to him.) My question is how the hell did Brandon Inge get voted in before Adam Lind? Inge was part of a campaign with Victorino called vote Bran Torino. Thats how he got in. I kind of feel bad with Victorino winning, because he was probably going to take Beltran's spot anyways.
  12. Everyone knows there is only one true king of the flumers... [/img] He conquered every waterslide in San Dimas
  13. Last chance to vote for Victorino! Walk off single last night and 2 SB's. Sorry Nat's fan, but no way should 2 players from the worst team in baseball be in the All Star Game. Zimmerman took Guzman's chance. Zimmerman should be the one in the final vote, and Sandoval should be in. Zimmerman is having a good year, but Sandoval has been better. Anyways, not sure if you have seen this play, but it might be the best defensive play I've seen. This is just sick, and I HATE the mets. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jG_Gc1elS1M EDIT: sorry for the quality, but it was the only one I could find this morning.
  14. The rap/hiphop list sucks. Two Black Eyed Peas songs? They belong in pop not rap. Rock Star is decent, but I guess I would have to go with Sabotage. I think they should have had DMX Party Up, perfect uptempo for a coaster. Kickstart My Heart would be a great choice too.
  15. Fixed In all seriousness though, I do like Sandoval and he's having a great year. I have him in my fantasy league. But Victorino is not only have a career year at the plate, he is going to win his second consecutive gold glove. I think Victorino really wants it. Last nights line: 4-5 2 doubles, 1 HR, 4 RBI's, 5 R's. If Victorino doesn't get the vote, Manuel will probably add him since Ibanez and Beltran are both injured.
  16. Calm down buddy, it was sarcasm. I just made a little dig at the fact Brady should be the most feared person in the NFL. I actually despise the Chefs. I love poking fun at the Patriots. Most "superfans" can't handle it. As for the Colts uni's, I like them alot. Sometimes basic is good when it comes to uniforms. Just use Oregon's uniforms as the example of less would be better. I just saw that the 76er's are going back to their old red, white, and blue design. I am a big fan of those, instead of the crap they having been wearing since then.
  17. The Godfather 2, The Empire Strikes Back, and The Dark Knight would like to have a word with you. I saw it yesterday after work. If you are looking for some deep plotline then you will be severely dissappointed. That is not Bay's style. It is extremely entertaining though. The action is pretty much nonstop the entire movie, I just felt they didn't need all the humor. Don't get me wrong, I think some comic relief is needed, but sometimes it seemed that's all they focused on.
  18. I finally went out and got Method Man and Redman's Blackout 2. Too bad this CD didn't get the pub all the other crap rap did... I.E. Black Eyed Peas. Meth and Red are great once again. Its definitely an album you can listen to from beginning to end. One of the highlights for me is they bring back Keith Murray on Eerbody Scream. Murray's verse is great as usual.
  19. ^^ Benard Pollard was terrified of that number too.
  20. Uh yeah, its only 7 AM and its already 80 in Omaha. The heat index is supposed to be around 110 today. IN FREAKING OMAHA. That's not natural.
  21. I just saw two of them right here, on TPR! (start cheap "pop" from crowd) In all seriousness, I've never seen one other than these pictures. The Omaha zoo doesn't have them even though they are rated 3rd among US zoos. At least that was a couple of years ago.
  22. What's wrong with Leeavilier? I hope no one actually purchased that. Please tell me they didn't actually wear those in a game.
  23. I have to agree on what everyone is saying about The Hangover. One of the funnier comedies in a long time.
  24. You have to cut the Giants a little slack on their futuristic jersey. They had to do something to take away from Bonds suddenly gigantic head. Here are my favorites, mostly because they are the ones I grew up watching. I know a lot of people hate the powder blues, but I was disappointed when they changed them. I also pretty much love all the powder blues in baseball and is glad to see it making a comeback in KC and Toronto. I wish they would wear these instead of that crappy alternate orange they wear now. Love the older style Duke unis. I am not of fan of the black ones.
  25. I would like to add the Gordon's Fisherman jersey. Just horrible. islanders.bmp They should have thrown fish sticks after the first goal.
