  1. I'd just like to say thank you to Robb and Elissa for allowing us to meet up with the East Coast trip at Hersheypark yesterday. It was another great day! We even made a little side trip to Dutch Wonderland and rode the famous Lady Gay. And that night ERT session on Lightning Racer was amazing. One of the best ERT sessions I've ever had. My ranking of Lightning Racer shot up several slots after last night as that coaster seems made for a rowdy group like we had last night. The interactive nature of it, the taunting and jeering of the opposing train, made it just a blast. Several people were still laughing in the bathroom after they shut down the ride! Thanks again!
  2. Haven't tried Mantis in the front, but it beat me up so badly last time I doubt it will get another chance.
  3. Kind of answered your own question there. Like socialized medicine, that won't happen. The government likes getting interest-free loans from most people that they don't have to pay back until next year as a tax "refund".
  4. Nice memories of Canada's Wonderland. Despite the overall questionable nature of Wonderland's coaster line up, it really is an excellent park. Great atmosphere, well-kept. Probably the nicest Cedar Far park I've been to. Throw in an Intamin coaster or two and you'd have something quite special. It could happen. Their maintenance director told us he's "not scared of Intamin".
  5. ^Many years ago at a Taco Bell here in Cincy, one of their workers was busted for creating an E. coli outbreak by crapping in the Tacos. No lie.
  6. That's what you get for wasting valuable Great Adventure time in line for that hunk of junk. Ka is a "one and done".
  7. Thank God! I don't think I could handle being lied to by Billy Dee Williams:
  8. Because accountants need jobs!
  9. This isn't the most eloquent way to sell progressive taxation. Kind of the problem with declaring oneself "liberal" or "conservative". Most people don't tilt all one way on each and every issue.
  10. ^Someone should start selling PMW wrist bands.
  11. Yeah, I dunno. Holiday World seems to be doing quite well for what they do, but a large Swiss steelie sounds a bit out of their price range. While I'd *love* for them to be the first US Intamin Mega Lite installation, I doubt that's what's happening either. I'm betting against a coaster this soon after installing Voyage. Probably some sort of water park addition or flat ride. And not a mega flat like the Huss Giant Frisbee because HW could build another woodie for about what those cost.
  12. ^That Snopes link is hilarious. Juxtapose: with Because there's no politics in calling Obama "Hussein". This kindergarten crap makes me want to lose my lunch.
  13. Annoying is a better way to describe it. They start campaigning way too early these days. The race really began last year and the media was covering it extensively even before that. It's like a never ending circus. Seems like as soon as they finish one presidential election you're already hearing about the next one in the news.
  14. I think what Robb was suggesting was that the performance of the parks is influenced by the performance of their coasters, usually the biggest draw in any park. Of course, it's not fair to boil it all down to that because a coaster is just an inanimate object and it's ultimately up to management to see that people come in through the gate by hook or by crook. However, there are a lot of examples of newish CCI coasters that have gone completely to hell. I rode Villain last year and it was easily a bottom 5 woodie because of its roughness. Is this because of park neglect, a poor product, or some combination of the two? I'm still blaming the Gerstlauer trains. (Happy Robb?)
  15. I really hope this is in jest. It's been a long, brutal campaign. I'm no Obama supporter, but it's obvious that this comment was made because the guy was exhausted. Of course he knows how many states there are.
  16. Yeah, the Tom Cruise episode told the Xenu story in its entirety. I watched that for the first time on the bus on the Europe trip and it was AWESOME. Shaft is a great album. If you haven't checked out Curtis Mayfield's Superfly soundtrack, I would highly advise that to accompany Shaft. It's amazing.
  17. Ha, I had a problem with the glasses from the vinarium at Tripsdrill. I had them wrapped in a shirt in my backpack. I forgot about the glasses, pulled the shirts out of my backpack, and the glasses shattered all over the floor of my room in Hotel Colosseo. I got more than a few cuts on my feet from that little stroke of genius.
  18. Yep, it was most likely fall out from the Tom Cruise episode of South Park that prompted Hayes to quit the show.
  19. No, there's plenty of opinion/value judgments mixed in with your posts. You should learn the difference.
  20. I finally got around to seeing WALL-E and it was spectacular: Technical wizardry mixed with copious imagination driven by a pretty decent story. I loved how it managed to be very unique despite its constant references to sci-fi classics. The interactions between WALL-E and EVE were just plain magic. My favorite Pixar film.
  21. Well, I guess if you're the type that prefers two big helices over airtime and great laterals, then maybe yes. But, otherwise nope. Also, EGF has much, much better restraints than Ride of Steel (Darien Lake) does. Thanks for the answer, did you ride both of them? Yessir. I rode Ride of Steel (Darien Lake) last year and EGF this year.
  22. Holiday Park at least has other attractions that are decent: drop tower, flume, dark ride, star flyer, etc. At Beech Bend the only decent thing is KY Rumbler.
  23. +1 I love Xcelerator. It's my favorite Intamin rocket and favorite launched coaster in general (not counting Maverick). But, yeah. The rest of KBF basically sucks.
