  1. Not to mention that a national health plan would inevitably be a complete cluster in this tax-adverse country. Medicare/aid are underfunded disasters. No sense in giving Washington more control over health care when they can't run what they have properly. It's election year. Whomever gets away with the most lies wins.
  2. Well, I guess if you're the type that prefers two big helices over airtime and great laterals, then maybe yes. But, otherwise nope. Also, EGF has much, much better restraints than Ride of Steel (Darien Lake) does.
  3. I'd say Alan Greenspan was most directly at the helm. I don't really support either candidate: Barack Obama is too mixed up with the likes of New Age Oprah and creepy racist Rev. Wright for me. McCain is way too hawkish on Iraq for my tastes.
  4. Yeah, this is a real loss. His cameo in "Don't Be A Menace To South Central" remains one of my favorite comedy scenes ever. I always thought he was heavily underrated and hilarious in everything I saw him in. He seemed like the kind of guy who could be funny tying his shoes.
  5. Although I'm not really a fan of the restaurants, I'd rather see a rock themed park than another movie park.
  6. Yep. You can ride as many rides as the Q-Bot will let you schedule. You could ride nothing but one coaster all day. It doesn't care. When I went to Great Adventure last year, I scheduled El Toro at least 12 times.
  7. Yeah, the operations were pretty tight. When Liz and I went to board the rapids ride the goofs in the raft didn't leave us two seats next to each other and wouldn't move. So, we started to walk towards the next raft when the operators stopped the rafts in the station, asked us what was up, and then went over and made the people in the original raft move. This process took like 10 seconds top. It was pretty amazing.
  8. Thanks for sharing the pictures again, Chuck. Hotel Colosseo sure was a winner. Any hotel that gives you an assortment of fresh fruit when you check in, sells great ice cream until midnight in the lobby at bargain prices, and has vending machines that distribute Coke in glass bottles is a winner in my book. The place rivaled any of the Disney Deluxe hotels in Florida.
  9. Wow, this was a really horrible show. A drunk 4-year-old could check facts better than they did on this show. The Cedar Point segment was especially awful. They went to Great Adventure for "one reason and one reason only" and it wasn't El Toro. EPIC FAIL!!!
  10. Yeah, when you compare the quality of, say Mind Bender at SFOG, to anything Arrow built in the 1970s you start to wonder why the HELL there are so damn many Arrows out there. Arrow did make a few good rides along the way, but they never had the consistent quality that Schwarzkopf had.
  11. Yeah, Kings Island desperately needs a very solid, re-rideable coaster. A mega coaster fits the bill 1000x better than a one-trick Strata coaster. It would be especially dumb considering that TTD is just a few hours drive away from Cincinnati. There is no B&M mega coaster in Ohio, nor is there one in any of Ohio's adjacent states. It'll be a very fresh concept to the vast majority of Kings Islands patrons.
  12. Vortex did make me a little bit dizzy after 5-6 rides, but I think I could have stayed on Behemoth all night. We rode all the way up until the end and wanted more! It was running quite nicely during the night session.
  13. ^^^Is Elissa covering her head in shame of riding yet another kiddie coaster? Have fun on the East Coast trip everyone!
  14. This is great news! I love Q-Bots. I'll definitely get one next time I make it out to Magic Mountain.
  15. Fixed. Ha. That's actually what I originally typed. Now if you'll excuse me, I've got to go bid on a piece of Raging Wolf Bobs track. $250 seems like a steal for a termite-infested old piece of lumber.
  16. Anyone who has to buy a $1,200 plane ticket in order to ride their favorite coaster. Aka the situation I'm currently in. I'm just being Cap. Obvious and pointing out that no matter what they build there's going to be complaining because you can't please everyone. And, no. I've *never* wondered why people would look askance upon enthusiasts.
  17. The complaining is just part of the game. If they went with Intamin, people would be complaining about reliability and how a B&M would have broader appeal. Etc. For me personally, I'm just lazy. I wanted Kings Island to build the new #1 steel in my back yard so I wouldn't have to travel far to ride it. Also for bragging rights. Yeah, I know Kings Island would NEVER do such a thing, but I can always dream.
  18. If you have just as much fun on crap rides as you do on fancier rides, then why bother traveling to Cedar Point at all? Just go to Kings Island and save a ton of money.
  19. Do you also read Playboy for the articles?
  20. Inner City "Good Life"
  21. Wasn't there already a thread about this? I *love* Mind Bender, but I just don't see this as being that big of a deal. I mean it's got that hideous vomit green paint job as it is. A little NASCAR isn't going to make it that much uglier. Besides, consider it theming, Georgia style. BTW, that's a really nice action shot of the ride. It really illustrates the white knuckle fun of it.
  22. Diamondback. It doesn't have any airtime. You can tell by the POV.
  23. Since it's Intamin, be sure to book your tickets for August and not opening day.
  24. QFT. Someone please end the US's Intamin woodie/hyper drought.
