I Was also at Alton on Sunday and had a very wet but brilliant time. All the ride ops and staff where fantastic and very helpful. The best part was Repeat riding Corky for 2 Hours with no Q I must of got on about 15 time then it was straight to the bar to recover ... I only have one good photo from the restricted area hope you like it ? The famous Corkscrew

It started at 7:30 in the main Station where the motors are that run the cables for the whole of the Sky ride. There is also toilets under the station and I think there is also a electric substation there as well. As the ride was closed I don't think it would be the Motors over heating and as the area was open to the public don't think someone could start a fire in the toilet with out someone else noticing.

Just heard that the Sky ride station in Forbidden Valley has been on fire. Alton was open because as they are running Scarefest where most ride are open until 9:00 pm. Luckily during Scarefest the Sky ride closes at 4ish due to low lighting level. The fire has spread to the surrounding trees at the top of the Valley by the Station. As soon as I get some more news I'll post it

Great update Robb but your video of The Voyage made it look soooo slow since the last time I rode it ( media day 2006 ) especially on the brakes before the triple down .

I wanted to do the media day as well but down the southwest on holiday that day Think we need to do a unofficial TPR meet up some time very soon.

It was announced to The Roller Coaster Club of Great Britain that Alton Towers would get a new Woodie for the 2008 season, it would be on the same par as Megafobia. Having been to Alton lots this year so far there looks like no sign of construction work in the park. They did announce this about this before all the buying and selling of Tussuad's which make me think they have but the plans on the back burner for a while.

Lets hope they put some money back into the parks and buy a new Woodie

That's the one think I hate is to see a Train with empty seat and your stuck in the Q for Two hours. Alton Towers have single ride Lines on some of there rides but most of the time the ride OP just ignore you and send the train out with empty seats

Think its just a Funnel cloud which we do get lots of in the UK.

Robb if you can get the trims turned off on EGF put my name down now for next years trip
