The only thing that irks me is the separate admission. Normally parks that have it, I don't go in the water. Not that I don't like water parks, which I do, but I don't see a reason to pay extra if I can get wet on rides in the park. I'm guessing that they don't want it to get too crowded right away. Ummmmm...there is no separate admission.

I feel carowinds wants the water park to have a different atmosphere from the regular park. More tranquil, so to speak. Can't do that?with a coaster running thru it every few minutes.

Rode shockwave for probably my last time. I just don't wanna go thru that again lol. Been marathoning the drop box slides, just love them!!!

I don't want them to copy Cedar Point or Carowinds. It needs to be unique to the park. Well they don't have to copy them but they're overdue for a new entrance as well. But I think kd needs to step up their game because carowinds seems to be getting all the attention now that they have fury and since they're the "cedar point" of the southeast. i'm surprised kd haven't lost most of their attendants. Hopefully this will change by 2020. KD is a much nicer park though. Carowinds is kind of dirty, their operations aren't very good, and there' s no theming whatsoever. You gotta be trolling right now . . . Carowinds has a themed water park an awesome themed carolina boardwalk area with a boardwalk down the middle, a great themed planet snoopy. The food at KD pales in comparison at carowinds and let's not talk about operations, 6 minute intervals between cycles on the flyers yesterday. Just look at how csrowinds is doing their beer and bbq festival compared to kd's. Not trying to start a fanboy flame wars but those statements were kinda incredulous to say the least. Anyway, I'm gonna be at the park today for some last rides on shockwave, look for the black guy with the red/orange/yellow hair (sounds a bit much I know lol)

I just have the best of luck! Even today at six flags america, everything is basically a walk on! Ok, so I left my season pass at home and this is what guest services gave me to get in lol . . . Needless to say, that didnt work. Then I was given this . . . I'm finally in . . . This area wasnt here when I was last here . . . This line seemed like it took forever. I guess its the first thing people see. This thing . . Ahhhhh, wild one! Just look at that line! Brb, gotta ride! That took no time, thanks to this line. Kinda rough, but isn't that how woodies suppose to be? Speaking of rough . . . It looks great but one ride was more than enough. Let's ride a good coaster! It appears I have shorten in height . . . It may be one of the older ones but that launch still packs a punch! Haven't seen one if these in a long time . . . I wonder why more of these weren't built? Same with this one . . . No line! In case you're wondering, that's airtime . . . Didn't even bother . . . The crowds are unbearable . . . kinda like that. Any reason why this was left? Let's get some more shots of apocalypse . . . Let's head over to the best themed section in the park! Which is home to the worst coaster in the park . . . They look happy. Maybe something changed. Oh dear! That's not a good sign. Ugh! Just as I remember it. That was bad. Moving right along . . . I've never stepped into hurricane harbor but since I was done with the park I figured I might as well. Looks like it scared the crap out of someone hahaha. . . I've never experience the tornado slides being that its almost guaranteed I'm a party of onebut they look like a blast! Hummmm . . .carowinds? Looks to be a good amount of space behind the fence. The lone family raft slide . . . Not too many normal tube slides. But plenty of drop slides! Well, that's it! Until the next trip . . .

I feel brave today . . . I'm smiling now. Let's see if that will change.

Yes I have. I said *good* wood coaster. A unique B&M looper, in my opinion, is something more unique than a basic sit-down looping coaster found at nearly every park ever. A flyer, dive, or even a wing coaster is considered more unique than a floorless. . . . until they become found at nearly every park ever. Regardless if you want to admit it or not, KD has a good coaster line up. Lots of parks out here will KILL have to such a line up.

Isn't Intamin responsible for Escape from Gringotts track system? It has the tilt track and the motion base feature in the track vs the vehicles.

Seems that the usage of water will give you more of a water slide feel getting you wetter . . .

So . . . This uses water to propel up the hills vs the LIM's?

What night are you doing scary farms? I'm going that Sunday night as it is generally the slowest. I did the dinner before and that really helped out getting into the park before others as well as getting the pre assign ticket for the zombie maze since most of the tickets went within 30 mins of opening. I always start at the back with a ride on xcelerator then Houdini's.

My honest opinion: Rent a car. Try Enterprise. There is one on Beach and Orangethorpe roughly 2 miles North of KBF, and they will come PICK YOU UP from where you are if you want them to. Are you a Costco Member? Even better. Reserve the car through there in advance and it's even less. I've rented cars for a WEEK through Costco Enterprise, and it was $90. No joke. Screw public transportation, save or spend a little more, and you can save a lot of time and heartache. Yeah...with the flights looking cheaper flying into LAX i'm leaning towards getting the car for the entire trip and drive my way around. I gotta see if and how much parking is at the hilton universal city...if its too much im gonna just bus it from LAX to universal and the next day get the car at LAX. Thanks guys for all the imput...

Well...a lot of people wrote off carowinds on facebook that they will never return after TR's closure...guess they meant it lol.

I don't think they are not as smart of some of you are making out. We may know what is going on but we don't KNOW what it all entails. They want us talking and that, we are doing. Just like we knew it was a coaster last year but didn't KNOW what it entailed...

lordy lordy...look who won't be turning 40!!! I was able to secure some original pieces from 1975 as well as recent year. Starting prices...1,700.00 lol.
