  1. Isn't that every year???
  2. Oh god! The VF thread has infected the carowinds thread lol lol. Years ago matt said what? You just dropped it all. Guess you wanted to get to the meat of your argument. And years ago??? When did matt come on board at cedar fair? And cedar fair owes vf a coaster? Well vf OWES cedar fair a chain wide record breaking season.
  3. Thats odd . . . I was there on a sunday and the longest line was Iron Reef and i'm not talking a 10 minute wait.
  4. Not compared to what else they have in store for the park . . . Besides, its gonna be announced formally. They're not just gonna open for the season and people have to discover the new ride.
  5. So yeah . . . Heard the news twister was officially closing. Went to the studios sunday morning for some cheap hhn gear and decided "well its no line, might as well e?perience it again". Left, came back for HHN and saw a huge crowd hanging around it. Realized it was the last day! I admit, I never made ot a must attraction but I did like the cheesiness of it.
  6. I recently read on orlando united that they were, in fact, some footer demo going on. Saw it from doom I think.
  7. Keep in mind, this will be the holiday season so a lot of places around the world flocks to orlando for the warm temps. Are you staying on site? Park to park tickets? I would get there as early as possible. Also, at the time you would have likely 3 attractions down for good as well as 3 water rides they may be too cold to experience so that means less attractions at each park to filter the people thru. I would get to islands first, as it usually opens earlier and stays open longer, and go clockwise hitting up spiderman and making my way hogsmead. If the line is long they do have a single riders line. Dragons challenge never really has a line due to the capacity. If you wanna just walk thru suess landing, i would take a walk thru there but I would return to take the train to the studios. Get there, see how crowded diagon alley is. If its too crowded the rest of the park may not be. Men in Black has a single riders line as well as transformers. Despicable me has the longest line outside of diagon alley. But it is possible to do the entire park from start to finish.
  8. Same here Chuck. I went in with not so favorable expectations and was highly impressed. To me, it was one step below TSM over at Californias Adventure. Not sure how wonder mountain guardian is but I would not opposed the rest of the chain getting something like voyage.
  9. What are you guys doing where it will take several hours to explore both diagon alley and hogsmead each?
  10. I was thinking . . . could it be more to this than what has been brought to the forefront involving Universal? Its like this, Universal apparently had no problem with the 300ft sky coaster, the Orlando Eye or any attraction at magical midway so why this project?
  11. Soooooo . . . are their any reports of changes to the houses this year? I did notice that the first weekend, the 25th year house had random clowns in it but now its lots of jacks in it!
  12. Everything I had in the cargo compartments were safe. My other items were in my regular pockets. But I think nothing is safe on GL! Lol
  13. I can explain how my phone got out of my pocket on GL. I was wearing cargo shorts so as I tried to jump in the seat over and over, I'm sure it pushed my phone towards the top of my pocket. It fell on the roof under the lift which implies to me that was the case. As for my keys, not sure if they came out of my pocket while getting in and out of the coaster for they to have been retrieved so quickly. Either way all of these things were in my pocket, secure or so I thought. Maybe its because of these style seats as they both were my first time in those style as well as they were both a tight fit. I am also searching for stylish fanny packs as that was a reminder to me of the perils of what could happen lol.
  14. Parks requiring it? I know of only one place doing all the above and thats universal in orlando. Six flags considers loose articles as ones in your hands and not in your pocket. When most objects fall from rides the path is generally straight down as it isn't much trajectory involved. Trust me, the parks have what policy in place they feel is working. They even mention the areas where things are prone to fall into off rides. They are kinda professionals at this and have a better grasp than you and me when it comes to restricted areas and when to require more measures and not. Besides, I google that osha thing and couldn't find anything that directly dealt with theme park accidents. Care to share your osha findings od the subject matter?
  15. An old blackberry torch lol. Someone got their crushed Iphone while I got mines. Of course the battery came out, by the time maintance brought my phone back, he had popped the battery back in and was like you're good to go! I had another blackberry like this one fly off the turn after intimidators first drop at carowindd. They went got the phone, it still worked! Well, the screen was cracked so I replaced it, but it still worked after falling almost 200ft with no case!
  16. So yeah . . . Yesterday went down in history as the worst day of my life but on the good side I got to experience my first RMC coaster. The things I thought I would hate, zero g stall and the turns were the best things for me. The back seat sealed it for me! The coaster is great from start to finish. I keep seeing the word worst and this coaster being used in the same sentence. How???? This coaster is great and woe love to have ridden it more than twice but I had an entire park to experience. Oh yeah . . . About my phone. Well, it did get flung off GL but its apparently ford tough cause I'm typing on it now!
  17. To my surprise, when I went to guest service to report it they advised me of the free internet cafe with PC's to use!
  18. Not busy at ALL! Everything pretty much a walk on so far. Unfortunetly for me, green lantern took my phone and I had it deep in my pocket! Guess it was from all that jumping to get in those seats. To top it off I didn't even like the ride . . .
  19. Morning guys! I've read they a lot of tips for tackling the mountain and think I have it but I wanna clarify some things. Since its a holiday and bring a friend, the paek will be busy today? Also, since the park closes at 6 that limits the time in the park to about 7 hours. With that said I don't think I'll be able to hit everything. What should my action plan be based on that and the fact that I'm a single rider? Also, anyone gonna be in the park and wanna hang out foe some coaster riding?
  20. Alright! Next stop on the #EpicHalloweenAdventure . . . Yep . . . The entertainment capital of L.A., and also the home of halloween horror nights hollywood! I love doing both parks HHN back to back as it keeps it all fresh in my head and of course for bragging rights lol. I dread theme parks on a saturday so I was bummed when I found out the VIP option was not available so I'll do the next best thing . . . Something looks strangely familiar. First house of the night! Much like orlandos, this house lost me. Was suppose to be the. Ingest house in Hollywood history. Didn't that longer than most to me. Next up, insidious! The best house to me at hollywood! Love the energy of the scaractors. The dark areas were kinda meh. I know it was suppose to be the further but I remember fog before. Decided to do the 3D house. Guess if I had seen the movie I would understand this house more. It was fun though. Not sure why use content you have to bleep out every other word though. Well, took the tram to the backlot for the other 2 houses. I had no idea what was going on in crimson peak other than seeing the same woman over and over. I guess when the movie comes out it will male sense. Did AVP which was a carbon copy of last year. I ended up skipping Halloween due to the length of the line. Overall I like HHN hollywood but its just not orlandos just yet! Off to the next destination!
  21. Annnndddd we're back! As we all know HHN orlando is a big deal. This guy isn't letting something small like house arrest stop him from coming! I ran into some new yorkers who came thurs night and was only about to do 3 house. I took it upon myself to show them how its done and we were gonna get it all done in one night, thanks to stay and scream. First house . . . Great house! How did they manage to find all the jasons I have no idea! But they were all tall and bulky like the movies. Love the transition from crystal lake to elm street and back between each one. Let's move on to a classic. I think this is the first time in modern history of HHN that they have brought back a house in its entirety. And I'm not mad about it at all! The wolves are bigger and its even an extra one. It was cool hearing the new yorkers say it was just like the movie! Next up . . . Walking back there affords some cool shots! Let's go back In time . . . I just love this house! All the scenes blended seamlessly and they picked a good selection. Opening weekend when I came it seemed they had regular clowns. Now they've got it right and jack was all thru the house! Let's move along. Uh oh . . . 20 minutes???? Deep breath. False alarm! Ended up being a walk on . . . Or is that in? Anyway check out that georgous facade . . . Now this is more like it! And of course the facade. Let's run . . . To RUN! Here comes the contenders. Let's go! Now on to the die-in Time was winding down (park was getting crowded) so I decided to take one more stab at the walking dead . . . I just don't know. I felt this house was not good . . . At all. Has the theme reached its peak? Was last season just meh? I dunno. Time to year out, an early morning awaits me! Before I go, I ran into this celeb!!! Still looks great! Doesn't look a day over 600! Lol lol. Ok guys tune in for the next stop . . .
  22. so . . . Last night I began my #EpicHalloweenAdventure! What's that you ask??? Well, in 4 nights, back to back, I attend 4 of the nations most highly regarded theme park haunts from the east to the west coast. Every night a different park and city. Its pretty exciting and tiresome at the same time! Last night my first stop was Howl-O-Scream at busch gardens tampa! Due to the flooding in south carolina my amtrak transportation was canceled so I had to find another way down and got to the park a little late. Let me rephrase that, I got to the fright feast a little late lol. But it was still plenty to eat! I do have to say, the food selection isn't as good as years past. And no pumpkin cheesecake was not a good thing!!! After eating and stomaching that fiends show (I think this year is the worst I've seen) I decided to take a trip on falcons fury! It seems kinda slower then most but it is def the scariest of them all! Now, let's head to the first maze! I went they most of this house alone and it was quite anxiety inducing. This has to be my fav here as the theme of death is one that is unnerving to me. Lots of cool scares! Next up . . . Solid house. Loved the bungee scares! Let's move on to the only new house this year . . . Never thought I'd be walking thru gwazi again . . .this soon. I didn't understand what the hell was going on in that house lol. Lots of animal carcasses, mutated babies . . . Ok. Moving right along. I really do hope this is the last laff as this house has gotten old, well to me at least. Did the other two house now let's get some rides in! Now that's my kinda line. But . . . Kumba seems to be a little rougher than normal. Still a good ride. Let's head to sheikra. Ut first. We gotta dance our way thru this dance party lol. Fortunately I was able to twerk, whip and nae nae my way thru the crowd and up the stairs to be greeted by this! To my surprise, they removed the scoops! Caused you to enter the hill and turn with more force. Well there you have it. The first stop on my #EpicHalloweenAdventure! Its pretty obvious where the next stop is . . .
  23. **personal talk** I have a god son whom I introduced to the theme park life at when he was about 3 and from then on he loved it! From then on I created a coaster junkie like myself. He moved away but now he's back so we can go ride coasters! Yesterday, well sept 25th, I took him to SCarowinds. On the way back I asked him if he was game to head to Six Flags over Georgia early in the morning. Of course he said yes! So we headed out. Obligatory selfie . . . We headed to Georgia Cyclone and it finally hit me, we were at a six flags park . We see you Goliath! Even the train was getting tired of the wrap . . . The topper track really does help out the experience in the first half. Wonder if the rest is going to receive it? Did I mention it was fright fest? Next up, Acrophobia! Aside from Tower of Terror, this was his first drop tower. Some of the better themeing of Fright Fest. This area will look different . . . I always thought the placement of the Chutes the chute ride was pretty nice here. Lets get his first flyer credit! The slight rain really kept the crowds away. Next up, GASM. He really liked this one! Now the moment I was dreading would come up . . . he saw ninja and wanted to ride. He has no idea what he is in store for . . . I REALLY did not want to ride but I figured what the hell. He liked it so much he wanted to go again! As you see, he want alone. lol . . . I hated my one ride, of course he loved it. Heading to Gotham City, he freaked out because he is a big batman fan! After a few more rides, the rain started coming down so it was time to go! @ theme park, two states, all within 24 hours. Needless to say I was tired!
  24. I don't get it. SCarowinds is also a specially ticketed event and i was allowed to use it. Guess i'll work my magic (or not) when I get there!
