TPR Compact Contest Winner
jarmor replied to dr.gumbo's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
aww thanks guys! I feel we are all winners who participated in the contest. We are all winners for taking the time and making an awesome design, but I guess not as awesome as mines ! Seriously speaking, it was fun and my only wish is that more people participate and follow thru with their commitments when they say they are gonna do the contest. But enough of that rant...I can go on for days about that but my only wish is that more people would step up to the plate and put nolimits to work! I mean you already paid for it...USE IT!!! -
Euro-Fighter Contest [NL]

This isnt ballroom dancing! Whats with the scoring sheet? It has soo many gray areas one being that a coaster can be perfect in all catagories but be very lackluster but then you have one coaster that has some yellow g's (meaning its borderline super intense but its just right). I think every coaster should be judged based on that coaster and not a points system. The only way I see the points working if everyone did the exact same thing and the points are to just how well it was done by each individual. I guess i'll download all coasters and give my views... -

My how time flys when your getting ready for a new park season! I have some great news. Although several companies considered taking on the not-so-finished coaster project only one firm actually came thru. Steelworx, Inc proved to Six Flags over No Where they had the skills and professionalism to take on the assignment. Steelworx, Inc is a firm that is responsible for such greats like Dogwood lake park and the soon to open "Aftershock", the worlds Longest, tallest and fastest X-coaster! "When Steelworx contacted us we knew we were dealing w/ a strong based company," Explained Daniel Snyder, CEO of Six Flags Inc.. "We advised them of what we needed and were looking for and the very strict deadlines and they have yet to let us down and so that is why we decided on them to finish our coaster," he continued. Below are some progress shots of what is to come when the season opens! Enjoy!!! The contest is now over since DBru is the only contestant who consistantly met the challange requirements and so by default he is the winner of the grand prize. What prize is that? A 10.00 dollar certificate to get anything from the TPR store...and that means since the 10.00 sale is still going on he can walk away with a brand new roller coaster DVD...all for doing what he enjoys, and that is making great coasters! Entire construction area! Tight turnaround. Over-banked dive. INtense helix out of MCBR. -

Hard Rock Park update & review
jarmor replied to CedarPoint6's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
What!?!? No mention of "lost in the 70's" (well you mention the attractions but made it seem like it was all part of british invasion ) But on a serious note I really did enjoy reading this. But what I dont get lately is people calling this park "the first of it's kind". No matter what theme it might be it is still the bones of a regular, typical theme park. SO can someone please explain the "first of it's kind" thing to me because I really dont see anything that would make it that. -

Hard Rock Park - Max RPM (backstage media tour)

I kinda figured from my day at the sound check whenever I asked someone about it everyone was like ! Some said it was having problems and some gave the "its a prototype blah blah" answer. My thing is being a protyle isnt an excuse. Its just more reason to start construction earlier so you can work out the kinks. I personally think the park got on a high horse and "knew" it was gonna work perfectly and now in a delima. The park gives no other reason but to think this. they are acting like the ride doesnt exist. And personally I think for today being the official "opening" day for the park they should want atleast all their attractions up and running. Heck Life int he fast lane open w/o audio but eventually that night it came on. I just dont see myself paying the entire 50.00 when the park isnt fully operational. It would be different if the park had like 20 rides and only one isnt operating but its only like 11 rides/coasters in the entire park and it seems to be kinda a big deal to make sure everything is up and running. Ok enough of my babble. I still think the park is great but should keep the public in the loop so they can know when to plan their vacations. -

I dont think he sould be eliminated for that. I mean it could be just a design flaw. I actually get his point as it being only one block and under normal circumstances it would only be one train in that block but also under that one chance of a malfunction it could be distaster. I think since he did take his time to create a coaster he sould still be in the contest. -

There no such thing as never in the real world...in the real world coasters are designed so that there is 100% clearance on all track sections. You just never know what may happen. -

I'll let the screenshots do the talking... I understand what you are saying about no track can be seen inside of the other tunnel however there is a major clearance issue. Suppose there was 2 trains running on the track at one time and they happen to be on one of those really bad clearance spot and someone sticks their hands out...talk about a law suit! I think the bottom line with the tunnel test theory is that absolutely NOTHING can and should enter the tunnel even another tunnel! finally it's over Yowsers! I wasnt expecting this! Im kinda getting use to it now... Yikes... It's all over! Sweet mother of God! DUCK!! ohhhh dear! oh sh!t....
