Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

Your not the only one. Mean Streak is actually my favorite woodie at the park. Considering there is only 2...... Mean Streak isn't that bad, layout wise, but it seems every time I have been there it just squeals so bad it hurts your ears. The running joke the year I worked there was that there was more oil in Lake Erie than there was on the rails of MS!!! -

Poor Comet is going to get an inferiority complex. I can't wait to see how these 2 interact once they get in full swing!!! -

^ Mufflehead Muncher.....but we would shorten it to muff muncher!!!!!!! -
http://www.civ211-cv-00987-gllclass-tixnotice.info/ This was in an email from the regular Sandcastle mail I normally get. Mostly it is just news about upcoming events and whatnot, but this took me by surprise. I am sure there are quite a few on these forums that fall into this category. I am hesitant to release my personals to these people without first looking into it. If it is not a scam, what he hell, it is a free ticket!

Carowinds Discussion Thread

I don't really think in all my visits over the last 30 years that the place (KD) ever ran "efficiently" or up to max potential. I visited Carowinds once on Labor Day weekend a few years back and was quite impressed with the whole atmosphere and operations of the park. I think it has to do with being in the "South". There seems to be a more relaxed aura down that way. -

Ok, here goes my best.....The red X marks the farthest back/right side of the parking lot away from I-95 if you are standing at the front gate with your back to the park. The red circle is the campground. They have shuttles that transport you to and from the park. I have never stayed there, but have at the hotel right at the park entrance. We got to ride through the campground to pick up people and it looks very nice. They have cabins that I think we might try to utilize the next time we go down that way. -

Hershey really needs to get some kind of transportation ride back into the park. I believe it is more of a hike around that park than BGW. During ECB my wife took one of those walking thingies with us and we hoofed it over 15 miles that day. Bring back some type of triangular skyride with stations placed in the 3 farthest corners and add a stop to the Monorail over near the backside of the park. -

Nope, not at all. If anything it just makes us look even geekier than we really are!! -

20/26 I thought this was a pretty neat quiz. Had to guess at a lot of the foreign models though. -

I thought the station was to be built on top of the existing bathrooms at the far end of Comet Hollow? This has it right alongside the Comet entrance. My God this is going to be a clusterf*@k after the rope drop in the mornings! -

I don't think Spring Creek is all that deep or fast flowing. It just kinda meanders through the middle of the park. I really don't see a problem as others have stated. -

Cresting Lightning Racer's lift hill at night looking out over the field at the sea of twinkling lights outlining the ride is like a religious experience. Magnum would look awesome out by the lake with the same kind of package. -

Insanely glorious!!! This thing is going to haul some serious ass and is going to be even sweeter when all the trees grow in around it! -

So, exactly how is this larger ride going to incorporate the seemingly small footprint of land that housed the Pittfall? Are they going to adjust the walkway around the chute ride so as not to take peoples heads off?? -
Shane's Amusement Attic

That is correct, my year working there. Ironically they seemed to have just as many technical issues with that as they did Shoot The Rapids before they finally got it right. -

Yes, but it is more or less just a brochure with a couple of coopuns in it now. That would be sweet, I also worked there in '93. -

They also came with awesome coopuns for the park. I get one every year, but they sure have chinced on the quality of the mailing.
