  1. Why do people feel the need to complain about "complaining"? Is it just so they can post something without actually needing to have anything useful to say? The new "new ride thread" meme should be six people whining about how everyone is complaining before anyone actually does. Criticism does not equal complaining, and discussion is why we're here. What, should we all just Paul Reuben all over ourselves every time a new ride is announced? Labeling people who disagree with you as "complainers" seems to me a rather cowardly defense. And busting out the rather obvious statement that everyone should wait until they ride something before judging really just seems like a fancy way to say, "OMG, it's gonna be awesome, shut up!!!1!" Yeah, it might be awesome. Or it might not be. But if we can't speculate, then why even have a thread? Just go read Screamscape instead.
  2. I was on the opening crew for GhostRider (you know, when it was really, really good). One day, at Greeter, I asked a woman who was waiting why she wasn't riding with the rest of her family. Her answer was that she's already ridden it at Magic Mountain and hadn't liked it. So there you go.
  3. At the risk of being labeled negative: "Terminator" is a great name; "Terminator: The Coaster" is a Japanese name. Seriously, this might be a great ride, but it's all wrong, theming-wise. I mean, a 20's-style wooden coaster themed to robots? WTF?
  4. Thanks for all the Knott's stuff. I have, or had, a lot of that myself. I grew up in Southern California, and I worked at KBF during the time Cedar Fair came in. It saddens me to think of how much Knott's has lost under their regime. If I don't have to limit myself temporally, then Knott's would still easily be my favorite park. (Of course, it would be a Knott's with the Haunted Shack, the Tampico Tumbler, the Sky Jump, etc.)
  5. Nice TR. I don't think I've ever seen that place before. Thanks.
  6. Lot's of cool entries. But, for me, I don't think anything is going to beat StormFreak's "Rick On Roll-er Coaster." If for no other reason than that it's actually within the realm of possibility to RickRoll Aerosmith's ride! Difficult? Well, yeah. But possible. Like, with a team of ninjas or something. Or if you were Micheal Eisner. Look, the point is, it could be done.
  7. So the little canoes swing from side to side, right? Kind of like a suspended coaster, except maybe not as wild? It still seems like a step in the right direction to me.
  8. Not really sure about the plot of land (The Pavilion, maybe?) But I know an Idiocracy reference when I hear one. Thanks for the photos. I suspect this park will be long gone before I get around to it.
  9. ^ Indeed it is Crown Colony House. Your turn.
  10. Yay! How about this one?
  11. ^ It is indeed. (Although, it's actually in Turner, Oregon.) Your move, Mr. Bond.
  12. Cool. How about this one.... Obfuscate
  13. ^ We have a winner! Doesn't much look like a Disney park, do it?
  14. That's not too reassuring. Wasn't it your picture? Oh well, I'll put up the one I started to before....
  15. True. Somehow, I always manage to put my TR's up when everyone is on an official trip. And I agree with Robb about the need for a story. But it doesn't necessarily need to be a crazy story. It could just be a certain, you know, flow. (But even random can work if you accentuate the randomness.) In any case, page views might be more important (and heartening) than actually replies. I try to respond to TR's I really enjoy, but there's not always very much to say, beyond "Nice TR."
  16. Edit: I had posted a picture, but since mousch is back, I'll save it for later.
  17. Pretty impressive pictures for a cellphone. What kind is it?
  18. Um, how could they not make "stunning profits"? They sell something completely evanescent for real, actual money.
  19. ^^ Yeah, that'll show 'em! You know, I've actually been to this place. Rode the coaster and everything. But I remember almost nothing about it, even after looking at this TR. Thanks for trying to jog my memory, though.
  20. Thanks for the report. Lot's of good photos in there. I really need to get to Timber Falls. In a way, it almost looks like my perfect park.
  21. See, the way I figure it: Since all Boomerangs are basically the same, and I've been on one, then I actually get 58 credits for that one ride. Of course, I've actually been on more than one, so.... In all seriousness, it's all meaningless anyway. I mean, who really cares how many wacky worms you've been on, other than you?
