  1. At angles of roll between 135 and 180 degrees on either side, your body is more upside-down than it is sideways.
  2. It doesn't make sense to me either, friend. Sorry.
  3. This is interesting. I know that Ferrari has been trying to position themselves as more of a "brand" and less of a strict "automaker" lately, but the last I read, that rebranding wasn't really working.
  4. What's fun is that sometimes people sit down in the trains and start talking to each other, and then they don't realize that the operator has already put the bar down. This is Disney magic, people!
  5. Isn't there some crazy gondola / cable car system being built?
  6. You -might- have some trouble early in the day, but once they start running double trains on the wooden coasters things should move smoothly, even if the queues appear to spill out of the station areas. Opening weekend is always pretty heavy but they manage it well. If you're concerned about "doing" everything, you should have little trouble if you stay for the entire day (which you should).
  7. Hey, that's my line. I'm fairly certain that when this coaster debuts and it gets all of its good press we'll see it in the gallery of the "LSM coaster" on Intamin's website alongside Cheetah Hunt, iSpeed and Nefresesck...whatever. EDIT: Nefeskesen.
  8. I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR ROCKY MOUNTAIN TO SLIP UP. I'd rather have a smooth, late opening day than a glitchy, on-time opening day, regardless of who builds or owns the ride. Having to delay a ride is much less reason to distrust a manufacturer's ride system compared to, I don't know, boats tipping over upside-down.
  9. Generally I haven't had any issues going during Spring and the earlier part of Autumn. When you get closer to Halloween it can get a little iffy but I haven't had a "bad experience" in either season yet.
  10. Or you could go anyway and enjoy the park regardless if Lightning Rod is open or not.
  11. My favorite coasters have to be laugh out loud fun. Not OMG CRAZY, not tear-inducing. I have to want to ride them over and over again not because of the sheer experience, but the sheer enjoyment.
  12. Five meters? That's an insanely small space. To put it in context, not even a Larson drop tower could fit in there, its required footprint being over 7 meters in diameter not including queue space. Now if the tower itself is less than five meters in diameter (much more feasible), then you're likely looking at an elevated platform, as mentioned above.
  13. Simulators and 3D Glasses rides definitely make me motion sick.
  14. No. Disney knows that their guests' time is important. Most vacations typically last a week, but when you take travel into consideration you only get four to five days of actual vacationing.
  15. Yes, [ORCT2] is the tag. If you post a project make sure you include the build version.
  16. Great guy, great cause, great coaster, I'd definitely consider it even though my own finances are pretty tight.
  17. Not necessarily, they likely wouldn't want day guests seeing testing because that would give off the false assumption that the coaster is open.
  18. It's not just the general public though, you can be a roller coaster enthusiast even if you've only been to one or two parks in your life. For most enthusiasts who enjoy the parks and enjoy the culture but don't painstakingly watch over every park like the majority of us do, it becomes less of an "aww, we're getting a cloned coaster" and more of an "awesome, we're getting that cool new coaster that _________ got".
  19. Can you guys please stop copying and pasting thread titles across forums? We don't have a [REL] category here because we don't work that way.
  20. Um, a pretty good old-school B&M, a classic Schwarzkopf, a historic wooden coaster, a kick-butt Intamin launched coaster, and the best set of racing coasters in the US aren't good? My goodness, you're picky.
  21. Remember, you get a few hours to play in the park on the night before your ticket is valid.
  22. You got it! Pretty much all Six Flags parks and most Cedar Fair parks are regionally-oriented. Some people, like me in regards to Knoebels, will spend most of their life making visits to one amusement park - the closest one from their house. "Cloning" coasters is advantageous to theme park chains for several reasons - One, locals consider every coaster / attraction in the park to be completely unique considering that the park is the only one they have consistent, affordable access to; and Two, those that do visit other parks in the chain on occasion get a sense of familiarity when they run into a coaster / attraction that is a "clone" of the one in their home park. In my opinion, Hershend and SeaWorld / Busch do the "clone" thing the correct way - installing the same kind of ride across several parks but designing each with an element of uniqueness. Examples: Montu / Alpengeist, SheiKra / Griffon, Forest of Fun / Safari of Fun, Waterboggan / Slidewinder, Barnstormer / Giant Barn Swing, Outlaw Run / Lightning Rod, you get the idea.
  23. This is a huge misunderstanding, and we're the only people who are choosing to blow it out of proportion. I can't even remember most of the ads I hear on the radio, and I drive rental cars twenty hours a weekend as a part time job.
  24. Wurstelprater is an insanely ideal location for a coaster like Olympia Looping. That would be cool if the coaster did a rotation between the Hamburg fairs, Oktoberfest and then Prater every year. I remember hearing some rumblings of the coaster being difficult for the operators to keep around.
