  1. ^ As a point of correction, it's Interstate 80. But hotels in that corridor will require you to blow right past Knoebels to get there, which I'm assuming isn't what you want. There's a Holiday Inn Express in the Frackville area (Interstate 81 exit 124A). If you stay there, you'll then drive on PA Route 61 northbound through Centralia and Mt. Carmel, then PA Route 54 westbound to Elysburg, and finally PA 487 northbound to the park. If you're going to Knoebels first reverse those directions. PA-487 S, PA-54 E, and PA-61 S.
  2. Curious, is it a noise issue? A sight issue? Creeping around on Google Street View, it looks like the only thing inside Efteling that you can see from the neighborhood to the north is the Pagoda tower. I could see the neighbors getting upset if their expansion plans included a coaster that could be seen above the tree line.
  3. Don't count on it, that "rendering" is a very obvious NoLimits simulation that someone ran the automatic wooden support generator on. The layout that we're seeing may be correct, but not the supports.
  4. Busch Gardens was always a draw to Tampa. The new coaster is a world-class addition to a park...that already has several world-class coasters. It's not about Busch Gardens suddenly becoming amazing, it's about an already awesome park getting even better.
  5. Remember that if you filled out a ballot last year, you'll need to click the yellow "not done yet" button to release your rankings. Then drag-and-drop will work properly. Once you're done, click the green "done ranking" button and you'll be locked in again.
  6. I don't think that's an issue from the passholder side of things considering that SeaWorld Parks is pushing really hard for their monthly payment plans. But from the tourist / vacation side of things, I completely agree with you, especially this early in the "traditional" season.
  7. Agreed. I think that Country Fair is the only theme park land that has successfully pulled off a "carnival" theme without feeling hokey. (EDIT: Thinking about it, Storybook Circus is on that level too) As for the train station, I feel like steam and soot are the absolute last things that guests want in their faces while they're walking through Wildwood Grove.
  8. Go ahead and "lock" your rankings before you go. Then, when you get home, unlock them and add your new coasters, then lock them again. No worries.
  9. Does anyone know of any merch location(s) where they sell out-of-season clearance items? I never got down to EPCOT a second time before the Festival of the Arts was over and I want to see if I can still pick up a shirt.
  10. Rasender TausendfĂ¼ĂŸler, Tabalugas Achterbahn, and Ba-a-a-Express don't meet our "minimum size" guideline to be included on the poll. Eurosat was under renovation and didn't reopen until very late in 2018, it will be present on the 2019 poll. Arthur and Alpenexpress are powered coasters and therefore they don't qualify.
  11. Perhaps you all are right, but please forgive me for feeling like a gigantic monster of a roller coaster would seem to be just a little out of place in a land of butterflies and happy frogs.
  12. Wildwood Grove is more than just some mild / moderate flat rides and a coaster though. It's an entire themed land, with a story, and landmark experiences that aren't just mechanical rides. It's positioned at children and their families. If they built a new major coaster in an entirely new land adjacent to Wildwood Grove, then great - but not within it (as it has been envisioned today). Personally, I would be completely fine with going back to the days when you could go ten years or more without seeing a new roller coaster.
  13. Dollywood has mentioned again and again that Wildwood Grove is meant for families. A large, extreme roller coaster for that area would go completely against its mission. In one of the other areas, or in and around Wild Eagle and Mountain Slidewinder? Sure. But not Wildwood Grove.
  14. The original concept art for the Innoventions plaza showed a completely landscaped plaza and a brand-new fountain, but I think I recall people saying that those plans have changed.
  15. You won't be able to reserve any more FastPass attractions during your Animal Kingdom / Hollywood Studios day until you've used up the three that you already have. Again, that's just how it works. So if your Rock n' Roller Coaster or Tower of Terror reservation(s) isn't (aren't) until 8 PM or later, you're pretty much hosed. The same will be true if your group leader books all of the reservations for your EPCOT and Magic Kingdom days and doesn't get certain reservations until later in the evening. You'll be fine.
  16. I am completely on board with EPCOT's new approach, and especially this new pavilion. I can't wait!
  17. Not just any log flume, but a double dip log flume. Now there are three in the world, I think? Six Flags Great America, Walibi Holland and Walibi Belgium. (EDIT: and Plopsaland De Panne, thanks Jordy)
  18. Bingo. A park doesn't just switch out for a new set of trains because there's a newer model available. I'd bet that those trains still have a long life ahead of them, and Ravine Flyer II still kicks all kinds of butt.
  19. The blue tube slides are nothing to write home about but the green mat slides are pretty fun. If you kick off fast enough you can get some serious speed on the bottom of the drop. But those slides have been around for such a long time... I think at least fifteen years or so. I recall them replacing the old set of slides only a few years after Twister opened.
  20. Yeah, I would bet that the Cedar Fair parks that are closer to the big cities (Carowinds, Kings Island, et al) probably have better season pass performance than Cedar Point. Even if you're on the opposite end of Cincinnati you can get to Kings Island in 45 minutes or less, from the east side of Cleveland to Cedar Point can be as long as an hour and a half. I personally would be questioning my decision to renew my Walt Disney World annual pass if I lived more than a half-hour's drive away.
  21. I'm still betting that we'll be seeing B&M do a two-across train for this coaster. I remember that earlier concept rendering and those clearances look tight.
  22. Single-rider on Test Track can still be pretty long. I think the last time I was there it was pushing an hour.
  23. Got it. Some things to keep in mind: Fastpass reservations for Avatar Flight of Passage, Slinky Dog Dash, and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train are just gone, they're typically booked 60 days out by resort guests. I don't know how long you're willing to wait to get the credits but expect to wait at least an hour and a half each. Frozen Ever After, the EPCOT Character Spot, Soarin' Around the World and Test Track are "upper tier" experiences and you can only reserve one Fastpass between them. The same is true for both Pandora attractions at Animal Kingdom and all three Toy Story Land attractions at Hollywood Studios.
  24. Every ticketed guest gets three Fastpass Plus reservations per day, that's just how it works. If your director(s) / trip planner(s) won't be distributing tickets until right as you're en route to Animal Kingdom, you're pretty much hosed with regard to being choosy about what you want to do. Your ability to book (and availability of) Fastpass experiences before your visit is dependent on linking your ticket and room to your MyDisneyExperience account. Based on what you just laid out, you'll have to link your ticket to MyDisneyExperience immediately upon receiving it, or book it to a Fastpass Plus kiosk. Then you'll make reservations for whatever happens to be available that morning, as well as whatever is available for your EPCOT day and Magic Kingdom afternoon. That all being said, availability might not be as bad for EPCOT and Magic Kingdom, considering you're visiting on weekdays.
