Firehawk we're leaving out (as there are always exceptions to the rules). As for the clones, we've done it that way on purpose. If all the S&S free spins are the same to you, just mark the "clone" entry as ridden. However, some of our casual users might love The Joker at Six Flags Great Adventure but not know that it's an S&S free spin. So, we leave both options open and we will combine them together when the results are tabulated. This also means that people who ranked all their "clones" individually last year (before we put the aggregates in place) can keep their entries where they are without having to worry about it.
 -
Thanks for that. Can we have some other users confirm whether marking rides as ridden is / isn't working correctly? Like on Safari, Firefox, Chrome on Windows, etc? We'll get this resolved as soon as possible.
 -
Can you tell us what browser / OS you're using?

If you voted last year, click the yellow "Not Done Yet" button. Then drag everything in, and click the green "Done Ranking" button.

Here are some Frequently Asked Questions regarding the poll. How does the poll work? The way coasters are ranked is based on whether riders prefer one coaster over another. The more that one coaster is preferred over all other coasters, the higher its individual rank is. It's not just about how many votes a coaster gets. How did you decide which coasters to include on the poll? Generally, any coaster that is the size of a wild mouse or larger is included on the poll. However, there are exceptions - a few smaller coasters are on the poll, and a few larger ones aren't. Selecting the cutoff based on size means that we can be objective about which coasters are included. In addition, we require that coaster has to have operated for the majority of the season to be considered. Are large traveling coasters such as Olympia Looping included on the poll? Yes! Search their names or find the park called "Traveling". I've ridden so many coasters that I don't feel like individually ranking them all. What happens? You can rank your coasters in batches if you want! For example, you can give your "best" coasters all tied ranks of #1, then your "awesome" coasters all tied ranks of #10, "good" #20, and so on. Or, you can just choose not to rank coasters you consider as "okay" or "average". Or, you can rank your top 50, and then give your "middle" coasters all tied rankings, and then rank your bottom 10. It's up to you! The poll cares about how coasters compare to each other, not just which ones are ranked first or last on peoples' lists. I can't recall which of the Vekoma boomerangs I've ridden is the best. Does it matter? For "cloned" coasters such as Vekoma boomerangs, B&M Batman inverted coasters, and the like, we have "aggregate" entries. You can search for the word "clone" and they will all show up, or you can rank a cloned coaster individually. All the appropriate entries will be averaged together and the aggregate entry will be the one that gets ranked in the final results. We have done it this way so that casual users can search for the Hersheypark Sidewinder without knowing that it's a Vekoma boomerang, for example. My favorite coaster is missing! Why is that? We've gone to great effort to include every major coaster on the poll, but we may have missed one. If it meets our "rankable coaster" guidelines, and there is enough of a desire to include it, leave us a comment or a reply to the TPR Forum thread and we'll look into it. Will I be able to see other peoples' ranking lists? No, we won't be making any users' ballots visible. We understand that previous polls have done it this way, however, we value privacy. If you want to publicly share what your top coasters were, great! However, we won't force that on anyone else. If you have any more questions, please don't hesitate to ask!

UPDATE: The bug that prevented new users from marking coasters as "ridden" has been fixed! Hey everyone! The TPR Coaster Poll is BACK! We're excited to announce that after a successful live beta test last year where we received a number of ballots on the level of the legendary Mitch Hawker poll, we will be doing the TPR Coaster Poll on a yearly basis. coasterpoll.com We have over ONE THOUSAND coasters that you can rank on the poll, so whether you've been on every Intamin coaster in the world, or only have been on the coasters at your "home" park, your vote matters! This year, we're also taking steps to promote the poll on Theme Park Review's social media channels. If you're one of TPR's followers on social media, and you're reading this for the first time - welcome! So how do you vote? Follow these steps! 1. Go to coasterpoll.com. That's the easy part! 2. Click the green "Sign Up" button at the top right of your browser window. This will be your login so that your vote will be counted, and your rankings will be saved for next year. If you are already a member of the TPR forums, we kindly ask that you give yourself the same username that you have here. 3. Search for parks and coasters that you've been to! You can use the search bar at the top right to search for a specific coaster, or use the "Coasters" link at the top left to see the the full list. When you're viewing the full list, you can use the "Change List" button to sort or filter the list out. You can view all of the coasters at one particular park, or all the coasters by one manufacturer... It's up to you! 4. IMPORTANT - Mark the coasters that you've ridden. Next to every single coaster is a green "ridden" button. If you've ridden a coaster, click that button and it should turn to a solid green color. You need to do this for every coaster you want to rank! 5. Rank your ridden coasters! When you click the "Ranking" link at the top left, you'll be taken to a listing of all the coasters you've marked as ridden. Now, you'll want to assign each coaster a number rank. You can either drag and drop each coaster to the order you want, or complete your ranking in a spreadsheet style. It's up to you! You can also give coasters tied rankings if you want, like if you can't decide what your favorite Vekoma SLC is! 6. If you voted last year, make sure you click the yellow "Not Done Yet" button to "release" your rankings so you can add the coasters that you've ridden in 2018. 7. IMPORTANT - Click the green "Done Ranking" button! When you click this button, you're all set! If you ride a coaster between now and the day the poll closes, you can go back to your ranking and click the yellow "Not Done Yet" button and adjust however you please. Don't forget to click the green button when you're done. Voting closes at 11:59 PM on March 15, 2019! Just like Mitch’s poll you will find that not every roller coaster is included, as that would be impossible, but we have included as many relevant ones as possible. See the next post down (the FAQ post) for more info on our selection process. The other thing that would really help us out... Please SHARE this link as much as you can! On your social media, on your blogs, in any videos you might produce, etc, getting as much data as possible will allow this poll to get better and better! This has been an ongoing team effort by Chase (Comeagain?), Robb (robbalvey), and myself (A.J.) and we're so happy to kick it off for real this year. We appreciate your support and we look forward to seeing the results as much as we're sure you all do. Have fun, and happy ranking!

^ When I said "scenes" I was talking more about the ride film itself, and if "a scene unique to Tokyo Disney Resort" is correct then they're probably just changing the ending like they did for EPCOT. The queue, on the other hand? Yes, that certainly looks gorgeous, as per the usual standard. -

I'm curious as to what the new scene(s) will be. One of the nice things about the current ride film is that the last scene is based on the ride location, so at the very least guests will probably fly back into the Tokyo Disney resort. Considering that the story describes that they can fly "into the future", I'd bet that most of the modern-day scenes (like Sydney and Paris) will remain. -

I wouldn't count on it. Those are just the seats that B&M is using now. -

I remember them being so excited for Over The Top when they rode that example at the IAAPA Expo... That's too bad that it didn't work out. -

Apparently Loopings.nl confirmed the other part of the rumor, which stated that Walibi's new coaster will feature five inversions. Still skeptical, but it would be fantastic on both counts if the complete rumor were to come true. -

The Official "TPR Coaster Poll" Thread!
A.J. replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
You are correct in that they're just oh-so-slightly larger, but in the grand scheme of things, we really don't think they're necessary. We would put them in the same boat as the Zyklons, and unless we were to get a huge outcry of, "oh, this poll is so terrible because the Schwarzkopf Wildcats and Pinfari Zyklons aren't on it", they're not getting added in (and even that's a stretch!). Also, keep in mind that the cloned coasters, like the Wild Mouse coasters, won't have as much of an impact on other rankings now because we'll be grouping the individual coasters together in the results. -

A.J. replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The cutoff is the size of a wild mouse coaster. Anything larger than and including the typical Mack / Maurer wild mouse is considered "rankable" in our poll. We figured, if you're really ranking stuff like off-shelf Vekoma junior coasters, Pinfari Zyklons, and the like, then you need to find a new hobby. -

Perhaps we'll see one zero-G roll somewhere, two rolls out of turns (replacing those elevated flat turns) and then a reverse cobra roll like Twisted Cyclone at the turnaround. Am I the only one that really couldn't care for inverted stalls? -

Most of the existing Huss Magic rides are traveling the European fair circuit. In addition to this one there's one that's still running at Marineland up in Ontario. -

Do any of our European friends subscribe to First Drop magazine? Apparently there's some reporting in there that whatever replaces Gwazi will effectively be a brand new coaster with a single 212 ft / 65 m steel-structured lift hill, and the original lifts being used as regular hills in the layout. Anyone know more about this apparent rumor? -

				40 Random Questions [2019 Off-Season Edition]
A.J. replied to boldikus's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I've been waiting for this. 3 of my favorites? Let's go with some underrated ones, Lightning Racer, Mindbender, and Tennessee Tornado. Parks I visited in 2018? Seven. Favorite visit? My first visit to Busch Gardens Tampa back in November. Favorite addition? Slinky Dog Dash and Toy Story Land. Ride that exceeded expectations? Twisted Cyclone. Best meal? The Chicken Thai noodles at the Skipper Canteen. Favorite non-RMC / Larson new coaster? Slinky Dog Dash. Park to visit in 2019? Liseberg. Best ride themed to a bird? Phoenix, of course. Get on my level. Lamest coaster I rode in 2018? Sand Serpent. Bucket list coaster? Balder, forever and always. New-for-2019 coaster? Untamed. Middle-of-road park? Wild Adventures. Orlando ERT session? Mako. Funny story, I actually had an ERT session on Mako back in October. Holiday in the Park or Winterfest? Haven't been to either. Shed or fire? Wicker Man's fire, definitely. Most recent Six Flags visit? Six Flags Over Georgia. Intamin or Schwarzkopf? Intamin, unfortunately. Kings Island or Kings Dominion? Haven't been to either. Longest wait? About 1 hour and 40 minutes for my first ride on Avatar Flight of Passage. Worth it. Most-ridden coaster? Phoenix. Of course, of course, of course. Best small drop towers? Haha, as if you'd get me on a drop tower. Maverick or Millennium Force? I'd want to ride Maverick more. Log flumes or sky rides? Log flumes. Other enjoyable home park things? Seeing shows, eating good food, and just walking around for exercise. Second favorite Cedar Fair park? Well, I've only been to Dorney Park, so... Why visit my home park? Three kick-butt B&Ms and manatee viewing areas. Launch or lift? Lift. Did I buy any line skipping passes? Nope. Least favorite wooden coaster? Great American Scream Machine. Disney fans? Somewhere in the middle. Most are really great people but others are just nuts. I was not happy when the only T-shirt I wanted from Mickey's 90th event was sold out at 8 in the morning on a Thursday when the actual event wasn't until Saturday. Best Batman themed ride? The inverted coasters. Take-home from parks? Event-specific T-shirts or merch. Best wooden coaster over 110 feet tall? El Toro, that's an easy one. Ever hit with something? Nope! Are Skywarps credits? Not in our traditional sense, but I would consider them powered coasters. So closer to a "credit" than a Larson loop. Turkey legs? Nah. Most recent B&M? Kumba, last week. Corn dogs, churros or funnel cake? Churros. On-ride photo? I don't ever purchase on-ride photos. -
I ask the question, "What's a Blitz coaster?" as a joke all the time because there is no qualifier as to what a "Blitz coaster" is. In reality, the only objective similarity between Maverick, Cheetah Hunt, Taiga, Taron, and the like is that their launch(es) are powered by LSMs as opposed to being yanked by a cable and a hydraulic system. Everything else is subjective, and it's why Intamin just calls them "LSM coasters" now because that's literally what they are. Really, if this Universal coaster gets built the way we think it will, its closest "competitor" will probably be Copperhead Strike, of all things.

The artist formerly known as "the park with lots of screen attractions" will now be known as "the park with lots of launched coasters". Kidding, of course. I saw someone do a "prediction" of the layout in NoLimits 2 and they came up with something like Linnanmaki's upcoming Taiga coaster, which looks wicked fun. I loathe thinking about what the wait times will be for a brand-new short train launched coaster though.
