Besides Wild One, all of the roller coasters at SFA are clones as well. -

The back row was fine when I rode it earlier this year, the front however was a different story. As soon as the train hit the loop, my head rattled so bad it was unbearable. A real shame because it's such a fun ride. -
Just got back from Williamsburg, had a great two days at Busch Gardens with two of my friends (One who's never gone before). Every visit is just a reminder why this is my favorite park, this visit was no exception. Yesterday was also the first time I've experienced a break down in a while. After the drop track on Verbolten we waited at the launch a little longer than usual, after about a minute they announced there was a delay in the ride. Five minutes later the lights turned on (which was cool to see) and an employee came to let us know that we might have to get evacuated or that the ride will continue. Eventually the ride continued but we were suck on the break run right before the station. After bringing the train in the station (Thank you for not letting us suffer in the heat BG ) they had to manually unlock our restrains. My two friends sitting in front of me were the last ones off as there seats had a problem unlocking. But during the whole thing the employees were very friendly and we had a great conversations with all of them and gave us water as we waited to be free. And of course they offered everyone in our train complementary cards for a free funnel cake, ice cream etc. Major props for the Busch Gardens staff for handling the situation well. A few other notes: -Finally got to ride Mach Tower (Which is also my first drop tower ) -I don't know what happened but Alpengeist's lift hill was unbearably loud. Last year I was able to talk to my friend sitting on the other end of the row with out yelling. This year I couldn't even hear anyone sitting next to me even when they were yelling -Longest line we had to wait both days was about 30-45 minutes for Roman Rapids. Everything else was a walk on for the most part. Overall the trip was great and we'll definitely be visiting again this summer.

Nothing about Shockwave is worth the ride. It's the only roller coaster I've ever been on to leave me bruises and I don't plan on riding it any time soon. I'd pay to see this ride get torn down! -
Going to parks alone?
mike541x replied to alilstronger's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I've done it before. My trip to Florida I visited IoA SWO and BGT for two days, by myself. I also went to Kings Dominion earlier this year by myself as well. It does get quite lonely, especially when you see everyone else with their friends and family but one good thing about visiting parks by yourself is that you're on your own time. -

Couldn't agree more! Wild One is a fantastic ride with plenty of airtime and not to mention the awesome helix at the end. -

Wow, that's pretty bad that the ride still carries that smell after 13 years, and yes it smelt awful when I rode it last summer. -

I'm pretty sure the log flume still has it's on-ride camera but I didn't pay attention last time I was there. Anaconda used to have one at the bottom of the tunnel but that has been removed recently. I remember the camera would still take your picture but the photo booth wouldn't be open. Ricochet has one if it's still there (Haven't ridden it ride in a while). -

Yes, Dale is awesome. I remember him being there when i305 first opened and I couldn't help but appreciate his enthusiasm and how much he enjoys his job. To be honest he's one of the best ride ops I've seen at any park. -
Photo TR: My First Trip to Kennywood
mike541x replied to JRice92's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Great Tr! Kennywood is one park I need to visit. I still remember watching Memories of Kennywood and America's Roller Coasters with Thunderbolt and the then Steel Phantom. Ever since then it's been on my bucket list of parks. -
QFT! Too bad my county fair hasn't had one in years.

Parks Coasters and Rides in Movies and TV
mike541x replied to spike's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
While there is not necessarily a ride or park shown, I noticed while watching one of my favorite shows It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, one of the characters Charlie, is wearing a Silver Dollar City t-shirt. -
Kumba without a doubt is on the top of my list of roller coasters. One of the reasons why I love this ride so much is the pacing, it never has a dull moment, even after the MCBR. I don't think I've been on a ride that took inversions the way this ride does, very forceful! The only part of the ride I found a "rattle" was the turn between the interlocking corkscrews, but even then it's nowhere as bad as the Hulk or Dominator.

Come to think of it, I'm wouldn't surprised at all if BGW got SUF clone. I was a little skeptical about a park like this getting one, but as someone mentioned, there isn't a ride like this for miles, which I think could help attendance. If the one in Mexico is getting a dual station I don't see why this one won't. Also, I've never been on these rides and I would like to try them out myself, regardless of the mix opinions I've heard. And the location for this ride isn't bothering me as much anymore. I think it would be pretty cool going up Apollo's lift and seeing this ride in action right next to you.

I have to agree with this. I think BGT has the better roller coasters, but BGW has a better overall experience and atmosphere. When I rode it last year, it was amazing! The only part I found remotely "rough" was the turn between the interlocking corkscrews. It's still one of my favorite roller coasters. As for this new ride, if it is a S:UF clone, Drachen Fire won't be the most hated ride in BGW history. I'm sure Busch will the ride make stand out but I will say that I think it's really bizarre that they would put it directly right next to Apollo's Chariot.

FoF's MCBR is just as bad as Anaconda's. It feels like you're coming to a complete stop where in Joker's Jinx, it flies through the MCBR. -

Now I really need to make a trip to Ohio. Banshee looks great and I'm glad to hear everyone liked it! I also find it interesting when parks leave old ride remains. I guess they use the station for haunted houses during Halloween Haunt, like KD does with Hypersonic's old station. One loss is another gain! -

Ride You Felt Was Unsafe?
mike541x replied to Mr Stratosphere's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
While I didn't really feel unsafe, I was on the Rebel Yell opening Sunday and the seatbelt was stretched out and wouldn't "retrack" so it was loose the whole time. It felt more sketchy than unsafe. Thankfully there's lapbars! -
Weird Chinese Coasters

^^You have got to be kidding me! I can't remember the name, but I recall seeing an Arrow loop, corkscrew model knock off where the lift hill was steeper than the first drop. I thought that was pretty amusing. -

Back row all the way! That is my favorite place to sit on Dominator. I completely agree %100. Especially when the train goes through the first loop. I've been riding the ride for 21 years. It was rough. I've never had a problem with Grizzly. Grizzly's roughness is mainly due to lateral forces, which I like. Rebel Yell some years has had the washboard effect, and I had back problems for 3 weeks after riding it one year. I remember Grizzly being unbearably rough in 2008, notably on the turn after the tunnel. Over the years the ride has gotten a LOT better and ranks is one of my favorite wooden coasters. The night rides are even better imo.
