  1. I liked that cartoon, but the show in general sickened me. I feel like it's becoming more and more like MadTV lately, which is a terrible thing. The O'Reilly Factor sketch wasn't bad though.
  2. I've always loved 1984. A Farewell to Arms and The Great Gatsby we read this year, and I liked them both tremendously. I've loved most of the stuff we've read in English this year. "Self-Reliance" is an EXCELLENT essay by Ralph Waldo Emerson that a LOT of people would benefit from reading. Right now, I'm reading The Mismeasure of Man for chemistry class. It's heavy but quite interesting.
  3. ^ Hey, they showed the Hartford, CT wal*mart in there. Are you saying the ENTIRE city of Hartford, CT has only one Wal-Mart? If you are, you should feel quite lucky, and enjoy it while it lasts. Actually, I'm probably one of the luckiest. There are no Wal-Marts within 30 minutes of me. Of course, My radius is less than half of a circle because the ocean is about 100 yards to the east.
  4. TwistedTrack, in response to your question, I'd have to say yes. I think the best part of both episodes is when Kyle gets dropped off in Hollywood, and the driver says something like, "I mean, I know it's just joke after joke but I like that. At least it doesn't get all preachy and up its own ass with messages." That proved to me that the South Park writers do NOT hate Family Guy. That was probably more of a dis to their own show than anything in the Family Guy Episode. Don't forget, all the insults to Family Guy came out of Cartman. When the writers want to really make a statement, they always use Stan or Kyle. "Don't you know anything about manatees? They're the only mammals that aren't affected by terrorist threats."
  5. Memorial Day...I don't see how that's possible. Yes, the construction is going fast, but doesn't it require like two weeks of testing once the course is finished?
  6. So first I got Mean Streak (and was all WTF?), but then I went back, and discovered that whichever number I picked for the last question was the coaster I was going to get. That's lame.
  7. I'm still uncertain how I feel about the EU's policy of NO CAPITAL PUNISHMENT. Cases like this make me question whether it's really necessary.
  8. Yea, and as usual this year, Six Flags has removed two more flat rides, Taz Twister and Rodeo Stampede (but apparently we are gettin ONE new one, a Rockin' Tug). I hope '07 is a flat ride year. Like what SFOT got this year. I actually did ride the Jump once, and saw it run on several other occasions. I remember in '99, they hadn't even made a true queue for it, they just roped off some space next to the arcade. I remember it was a pretty fun ride, but at one point my head just SLAMMED into the restraint forcefully. After that, I was done with that ride.
  9. SFGAdv is my home park, so I certainly remember the 25 new rides in '99 (about 12 or 13 of which are now gone), and the ride that opened the least was Evolution. I saw it open ONCE in its (I think) four years at the park, and I was too scared to ride it because I was 10 or 11. I understand it actually runs now at SFSL. I'm wondering... So what IS this ride? Who made it? Is it fun? Does anyone know why it never ran at SFGAdv?
  10. Everyone who has not seen Mean Girls always gets skepticals when you mention it, just because of the concept of a movie about high school girls. The thing is, it's one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. It's written by Tina Fey of SNL, so that definately proves it must be AT LEAST decent.
  11. A few. USA Canada Bahamas Dominican Republic Haiti Jamaica Scotland England (after this summer, I'll have added) Spain France Italy Croatia Greece
  12. To catch your attention. Yea, I heard about this a few months ago. On my birthday, my aunt was going to give me money but I asked her to donate it to this instead.
  13. I want to mention that my all-male Catholic high school situation is not THAT scary. Couple things that help... 1) I'm in all honors and AP classes, so all my classmates are smart enough to treat me like a normal person (that's also my motivation to keep my grades up. If i slack too much, I'll have to take standard classes with people who hate me.) 2) It has got several teachers to like me. Last year, when I was first coming out, I told my English teacher. From then on, she LOVED me because she was so liberal and feminist. It was a nice perk. In math this year, for the first few weeks, my math teacher made TONS of gay jokes. Then somehow (because the topic never gets old), in one of my teacher's other classes, a kid told him that I was gay. From then on, he started treating me like I was his favorite student. Like, some other kid would ask to get a drink of water; he'd say no. Then I would ask; he'd say yes. My friends and I agree that he DEFINITELY feels guilty about the gay bashing in the beginning of the year.
  14. Nitro about a week and a half ago. As great as it is, sometimes I wish it had a theme.
  15. Not bad. I found this thread after only two posts. Anyway, my name is Evan. I'm 16, I live on the Jersey shore (the beach is a two minute walk). I've lived here forever. I've been on about 80 coasters, and way too many of those are steel. Like way too many other coaster enthusiasts, I'm gay, BUT, i'm skinny as a pole. I'm 45 minutes from SFGAdv, and starting next season, I'll be driving there constantly. This is my last season where I need rides . (The emoticons here confuse me. They're all really similar.) I'll defend New Jersey 'til the day I die. . Non-coaster related... Hmmm... I know! I love photography, writing poetry, prose, and occasionally drawing. That's about it.
  16. I am a gay male. Known it since I was about 10, came out soon after my fifteenth birthday. Ready for this, now? I am the only openly gay person in my all-male Catholic high school that has about 1000 students. I'm a sophomore, and every sophomore and junior at my school knows who I am, along with a good amount of freshman and seniors. I don't think this is the place to tell all about that though, just because it's a bit long and complicated.
  17. (First post here) I went to this park last summer. I actually thought it was really nice for its size. The rapids ride was pretty cool. I thought Hurricane was a lot of fun, despite what has been said on this thread so far. Eh, it is pretty sad to see it go.
