  1. That was a total guess, but it makes sense. It's something like that and a slower belt. The line is physically painful with one drop track.
  2. I don't know if this is the case right now or not, but considering it's a slow time and the park would have 100% expected it to be a slow time, it's possible that they're refurbing a drop track on Hagrid's right now. When they're down a drop track, that line crawls.
  3. Incredible news! Hey Carowinds if you need help hauling the world's-most-hated Christmas decoration to the dump, let me know.
  4. I'm not arguing with you. I'm laughing at the park.
  5. Yeah, it would be pretty problematic to have an event like this in an area with fickle weather. This was yesterday by the way…
  6. They run 10 coasters and only the RMC has any type of temperature cutoff. Even that is extremely low. We’ve been to the park (I think) twice this year so far. We’ll go to HITP more times than we’ve gone the entire rest of the year. The park just feels different. It feels like a family park. The people who go there are nicer and friendlier. The people who work there are the same way because of it. The atmosphere is better. It’s all great. I really don’t like Six Flags in the summer. It’s totally not my vibe.
  7. I think basically everyone agrees with you on that. It's stupid, but it's so stupid that I've grown to love it for being so stupid.
  8. Book a refundable flight and refundable hotels. We go in February a lot but that's what we do. If it's below 50 (not 40, 50 at Fiesta) or too windy, they won't run much. Otherwise it's great.
  9. I cleaned up a bunch of crap that has nothing to do with anything. Can we please talk about all the exciting things going on at Worlds of Fun lately like uh.. ... nevermind.
  10. If this works well at KD, they might try it at KI. It's colder, but it's also a park with MUCH more demand.
  11. Honestly, I have a Great Adventure pass only for HITP.
  12. Any park not located in Siberia should do a full Halloween event. This park is dumb, get creative. I don't even care if you open nothing but coasters and mazes like BGT does. Pay $30 an hour if you have to. It will still absolutely print money. It's not like the mazes have to be good to get hordes of people to show up, Six Flags has proven that time and time again...
  13. I have less confidence in this working out here than at Carowinds, but I'm glad to see them trying something bold. The climate is fine for it, but is the demand there? BGW is a very different park that appeals to very different people and has a lot more to offer on a day with sub-optimal weather. PS: Watch them "Cedar Fair" this up and not run Flight of Fear for some reason.
  14. This probably says more about renewed confidence in their ability to staff Cedar Point for Halloweekends without appealing to MA employees to go and work there than it does Michigan's Adventure. This is great to see on all fronts.
  15. This format is weird because I have legitimately no clue if I should read this as a serious post or sarcasm. I hope it's the latter. I'll assume so. As for the last part you've made your stance on this clear before and I'd bet that many people here including myself agree with you, but you really don't need to inject politics / major issues into a discussion about a new coaster at SeaWorld? The mental gymnastics that people go through these days on the internet to search for a roundabout way to make LITERALLY ANYTHING into a political argument is astounding. Please let's not do this so we have to go through later and clean up the thread from the flame war that's almost guaranteed to ensue.
  16. I'm already looking forward to the "But Kraken is right across the park, do you think it would be weird or would it be different enough since it's launched?" posts for the next 10 years.
  17. People like different things. I'd much rather go to a park when it's 35 (if coasters are running) than go to any Orlando park in the summer. You can dress for cold.
  18. Six Flags and Cedar Fair just entirely switched places over the course of one year. It's so weird.
  19. Nothing is confirmed unless it’s confirmed. As for the future. The industry changes all the time, new CEOs with dramatically different ideas come in all the time. I wouldn’t expect anything next year, but no way I’m predicting anything anything beyond that.
  20. Yes. Manta is absolutely my favorite ride in that park.
  21. The Universal annual pass an incredible deal when compared to the day ticket price. It’s an absolute no-brainer.
  22. (I mostly agree that these two parks do not belong in the same conversation, but lets not get crazy)
  23. To be fair, Top Thrill Dragster did make an amazing case for why it's important to have great insurance.
  24. Yeah, something like this is going to be chain-wide because other parks have to be able to scan it and apply it's nonsensical benefits.
