  1. Alright, I've been busy as hell with a huge concert tour (K-pop, Seventeen, come see it, there's explosions and flamethrowers) so I've been a bit out of the loop. I'm on a day off in a rainy Houston, though, so here's my input - Y'all people complaining about this coaster are goddamn morons. The media they've released make it look like a great mid-size woodie and the POV convinced me to finally visit WoF for the first time next season. You goofy bastards need to calm way down.

  2. Chicago, and Illinois, is going down fast. After a lengthy investigation involving the majority of the involved parties being uncooperative, the shooters will probably get 3 hard months of juvenile detention center time, where they watch movies and attend counseling sessions. They may even get a couple months of probation after that, before this gets expunged from their record. That's really not even a joke...

  3. Wow this thread has been active recently, reminds me of the good old days when everyone was still happy with CF and VF. Regarding recent comments, I figured I would provide a little of my own story to justify opinions. I have not made the trip out to Valleyfair at all this season. Nor am I sure if I plan on going at all this season with no new rides or Haunt. In all honesty, the monster truck event is the only thing they have going for them in my opinion. Next year I plan on going down to Adventureland and Lost Island since they will have a fair amount of new rides to try out with Matugani and the log flume/ coaster at Adventureland. So from an enthusiast perspective, Cedar Fair has definitely been loosing fans, such as myself, to local competition. Now I will say, there definitely are loyal Minnesotans that make going to VF a tradition every year, but in my opinion, Cedar Fair has grown way too comfortable with this audience and, as a result, has been unwilling to give any large investment to VF knowing they have loyal fans that will continue showing up every year. I personally have stopped buying a Gold pass, and will not get one until they get a decent addition. Regarding other comments, people really need to stop buying into the whole TikTok rollercoaster teaser. VF's marketing team loves to capitalize on the fact that the park is often neglected by CF. Remember that last year they posted frequent troll teasers on their social medias. Heck they even deemed Valleyscare as the place where rides go to die a few years back. Yes Valleyfair is very much so due for a new coaster, but will it actually come, most definitely not. Just because we can build above 300 feet now does not mean that we will be getting anything that tall anytime soon. With that being said though, optimism for the future of VF is still good and it always brings some good discussion to this thread.

  5. As much as people hate Six Flags, you would think that they would be happy to watch this guy burn the whole enterprise down.

  6. It is physically impossible for Six Flags to cycle rides less than they were.

  7. I wouldn't say on the right track. I agree with the business strategy, but the execution was shit.

  8. He'll have to make some adjustments for sure. But I think he's on the right track. The company needs a shift, and perhaps it needs to happen more gradually, but I'll give another year to see how/if his long term plan works out.

  9. While I personally feel this coaster would've been a much nicer fit at Dorney Park, that's just the dorky coaster nerd in me who pays attention to "well-rounded lineups" and crap like that. I am still absolutely stoked that WOF is finally adding a coaster after 14 years. Cedar Fair finally threw one of their small parks a bone and I think that is something to be excited about for sure. These new coaster announcements are fun, it finally is starting to feel like pre-COVID now that most of the COVID-delayed rides are now open (looking at you Aquaman). I think Cedar Fair killed it with announcements this year and the fact that they made all of those announcements when Six Flags was presenting their Q2 earnings call is just.... kinda hilarious. Already looking at a WOF & SDC trip next year!

  10. YOu can gradually raise the price while you are gradually improving the product. Charging 30-40 is not gradually improving the parking experience when you don't offer trams, shade or even an eveningly paved lot. Look how long it took to add a restroom near superman and batman at six flags america. Too many things that would enhance the guest experience have been too long ignored and you just cant say ok we want to consider ourselves in the league of disney and universal so pay us more and we will provide new benches. I just feel dejected because it feels six flags is making it seem like they parks have become city dumps due to the customers while they turned their rides into advertisements, tapped IP's that interest teens and ignore creating a family experience like they use to before they started buying up parks and lost their way.

  11. I really like the overall picture of keeping unruly kids out, and offering a higher quality family product that comes at a higher price tag. Which swimming pool do I want to go to? The public pool for $2 a person? Or, the $100 a month private pool family membership, where everything is well maintained and the people respect each other? If you act like a shit, your membership is revoked. Better product. Higher price. I get it. I want it. But, typically that would come with improving the product first, then raising the prices to meet the improvements. They can't hike the prices and justify it by saying they're offering 'less' shitty food, and less people will be at the park. "We planted four new flower beds, painted the shitters, and took away a family event. Pay more and come to our park!"

  12. Worlds of Fun has announced their new for 2023 roller coaster, Zambezi Zinger, a tribute to the original Zambezi Zinger that used to stand at the park! https://www.worldsoffun.com/new-in-2023/zambezi-zinger The new Zambezi Zinger roller coaster will take guests on a thrilling journey above its galvanized steel and wood hybrid frame, dropping guests from an iconic spiral lift hill into a low-to-the-ground track that races through the trees and terrain of the African Serengeti.
