  1. That's just what Disney does. They match the building color to the visible surroundings. Here's Guardians at Epcot, matching the lower trees, taller trees, and the sky. If you're in the park and actively looking for it you'll see it but otherwise it fades into the background.

  2. Ah. Analytical tiers. I have that too. Tier 1a: I like this coaster. Tier 4c: *I really like this coaster. Tier X: *I don't like this coaster. Tier 0 shits: *Let's go get a beer, people watch, and ride the antique cars. I guess I just take things a little more seriously than you.

  3. Okay, so I've been complaining about this for a while, but I am genuinely curious to see if anyone knows the reasons for this. American parks seem to have an issue with buying from Vekoma nowadays and I don't understand it. Back when the SLCs and Arrow looper knockoffs were trash, American parks couldn't buy them fast enough. But now that Vekoma has been producing really top-tier loopers in Europe and China for 5 years now, it's crickets in America. Other than WDW, the only other American Vekoma coasters of the last decade have been family suspended coasters... and there are only 3. Is the company difficult to deal with? Do they have a bad reputation for service? Considering they have 30 year old Boomerangs still running all over the world, I feel like the answer to that is no. Are they more expensive now than they were? Or are sit-down loopers just too retro in America and not marketable enough without a record and/or gimmick?

  4. Ding ding ding, we have a winner. Sometimes things just go wrong. Yes, negligence had a hand in this but the ride op made a mistake as they were going through the motions. Some people act like the ride op actively tried to ensure the child was thrown.

  5. There's really nothing preventing that from happening. Not like there's contracted ownership of those empty storefronts. Screw it. Build a long, meandering coaster that races through the mall area tunneling through the walls. That would be a blast!

  6. Youre not understanding the burden of proof necessary and what they have to prove. Basically what theyre saying is that while mistakes happened, they didnt rise to the level of a crime occurring. Which is reasonable. It was a tragic accident. If the ride op tugged on the belt, it was already latched and it wouldve been tight because she was sitting on it, so other than not noticing the strap wasnt over her lap, there would be no indication that it wasnt properly secured.

  8. Wonderful news! If a ride is being run like dog shit and you're looking to La Ronde of all places to do it better then you need to let that dream die.

  9. I've worked for both companies for many years (not just a seasonal employee.) Busch USED to be amazing. When the Busch family owned the parks, there was a level and quality and service unmatched elsewhere. Once they sold to Blackstone, things went downhill fast. This past summer, Cedar Point celebrated its 150th with tons of show including a MASSIVE one with a cast of over 70 people. This past Christmas, Sea World could not be bothered to bring back "Oh Wondrous Night," their award winning Christmas show and instead got groups to fill in on weekends. It was lackluster and cheap and showed how different these two parks are in their commitment to entertainment. There is just no comparison between the companies and their two philosophies. Cedar Fair has been around for 150+ years and is an ENTERTAINMENT company. Sea World is owned by Blackstone, an investment firm. They just see the parks as money makers and way to make dividends off of their stocks. And until Sea World Orlando can retain a president for more than one year, they are in no business to be buying other properties.

  10. No, Cedar Fair ripped out Wicked Twister so they can build a rooftop bar on it’s grave where I can go and scan my Busch Gardens pass for a discount on huge Funky Buddha drafts.
