larrygator
Here are some more random photos from Wild Waves. OK, I've been a dozens of Octopus rides in my day, not sure why they require two to a car at WildWaves Timberaxe was also out of operation all day Here the view of the Klondike Gold Rusher from inside the station The green slide on the left is called the Python, not for the claustrophobic Wild Thing coming into the station I didn't take many pictures of the coasters, because frankly my camera isn't that good. Pirate ship was kind of lame, but there were boobies that I do not photograph. I do not ride these types of ferris wheels. Lumberjack Falls - this splash boat is the parks' only water ride. The powered kiddie coaster sat like this all day, never operating. Ring of Fire through the trees and from above. The park is also very hilly, not quite like Holiday World. The Falling Star (which not surprisingly requires two riders) was set in a well shaded area of the park facing the water park. Em-Z
It seems like when something breaks at Wild Waves, they're never bothered to fix it. As far as I know the kiddie coaster has been out all summer and there's always a few seats broken on flat rides that never seem to get fixed. They have a ton of space for more rides but they haven't put anything good in for a long time except the Disk-o last year (which isn't very good). Maybe they can't afford it, but it would nice to have something new and good next year.
Crazy_Behemoth_Lady_Jess
I stopped by Wild Waves on my Nor Cal trip as I was staying one day in Seattle. Sadly didn't get to go in as it was closed but from the outside, I can tell the park is pretty neglected alright. Especially the "Malaria Lake". Was the water in Lumberjack Falls just as dirty too? Â How was Timberhawk? I heard it's not that great from Corkscrew on here. He says that there ain't much airtime nor is it that thrilling. Not to mention it's rough. Is it really that bad though? larrygator
^I didn't find Timberhawk to be too rough. There were a couple of small spots of air but overall it pales in comparison to other woodies in the northwest: Coaster (Playland), Timber Terror and Tremors. Â They really do skimp in the park. In addition to the rides being down and things not getting fixed, Timberhawk doesn't even have a covering where they keep the second train, so the upholstery on the trains is all messed up. Â Also, they ran out of parks maps, oh the horror!
Crazy_Behemoth_Lady_Jess
I thought Playland was just as neglected... now I really rethink that after seeing the inside of Wild Waves like this. Â How did you like that freaky out-of-this-world airtime on Coaster? And the lack of ANY modern safety features. You got to love Coaster alright! larrygator
Next stop after leaving Wild Waves was Remlinger Farms, It about a 40 minute drive northeast of Wild Waves. Since I enjoyed my visit to Schnepf Farms and their excellent kiddie coaster I decided to take a chance on this one. Â At Remlinger, besides the coaster there are a couple more rides for kids and everything is tightly packed together, not spaced out like at Schnepf. The coaster was not nearly as wild as the one at Schnepf but you never know until you try. Â There is lots of fresh produce on hand and country items at the main store. Alongside was a restaurant where the food (especially the homemade pies) looked very good. Â In the end I'm glad I stopped by to visit the place and support the local farmers in the region. One piece of bad news for the cookie and gravy boat contingent. The coaster has a posted weight limit. I want cookie! A nice selection of homemade cookies. I actually passed on the cookies and had two apples. Lastly a farm animal petting area. This guy said "Hi, Jow" Pony Rides for the kids And coming at you! Oh! Ah! Mine Express from the rear And now what you are all waiting to see. I must have looked official. The engineer asked me if I wanted to walk into the restricted area and take a picture head on. Train ride See, I told you! Antique Car Ride Please tell me you get it! Three kiddie rides. ah! ah! ah! Two One Hay Maze and Jump - where you hope the needle in the haystack doesn't find a sensitive part of your body. Triplet Raceway - where kids race these trikes around the track There have retired vehicles where kids can play. Better get the car moving, someone is bearing down on me. Six Flags Enthuseast
I felt like yelling "It a ARM/Larson model," to the idiot next to me that kept pestering the ride op asking who the manufacturer was. That's why I don't talk to enthuseasts, they annoy me and ride ops. Â HOLY CRAP!!! I WAS STANDING WITHIN 20 FT OF A TPR MODERATOR!!! I apologize, oh greatness, for pestering you. Forgive me! (I'm not kidding, I was there that SAME DAY!) Â Overall this TR is going well. Great photos and good comments. Â EDIT: You spelled "Enthusiasts" wrong. larrygator
After leaving Remlinger's Farm I headed to Fun Forest which is a small park at the base of the Space Needle. If you haven't been there yet, don't rush. The major rides side of amusement park has closed. Â Overall the rides were in better shape than I expected and there were visitors present. I expected a ghost town. Windstorms are fun little coasters, so hopefully this one ends up relocated somewhere. I didn't take too many pictures because there wasn't much to the place. Â Fun Forest was completed in about an hour so I did go back to Wild Waves afterwards to kill the last few hours of the day. The piece de resistance: Windstorm After a 50 cent game of Skee Ball, I win a little stuffed animal. I rule the roost at Seattle Center! The Big Ol' Ferris Wheel has nothing on this next guy. Ka Ching Unless you decide to spin this one like a mad man. Their most intense flat ride The treacherous Wild River The Top Spin which wasn't operating Ah there's the Space Needle. I got to keep on, keep on, keep on moving because it's a sunshine day.

Crazy_Behemoth_Lady_Jess
Ah Fun Forest, won't be there no more after October. So glad I got my 2 Fun Forest credits. Â You got to love Windstorm's "Dive of Death" and "Headchoppers of Doom"! As for Jet Spin, it's has not been operating for quite abit of time now. Â Orbiter is a pretty intense ride indeed although I'd still say Starship 2000/Gravitron you feel the G's ALOT stronger. I didn't ride that Orbiter but I rode the ones the carnies brought into The Fair at the PNE. Â Did you find Rainbow Chaser very ghetto, rough, rickety and unsafe? It made number 5 of my "worst" list for those reasons. I actually wouldn't be surprized if Rainbow Chaser de-railed or crashed or fell apart. Jds03
I absolutely love the Windstorm there. I rode it to get the credit, and it completely blew my expectations. It is intense for a carnival ride and has awesome pacing. Â Although my love for that ride caused everyone to make fun of me for loving the SCBB model on the West Coast Trip. Em-Z
I didn't think Rainbow Chaser was much worse than any other kiddie coasters of that type. It's really old and a bit ghetto but I didn't think it felt unsafe or anything. Â So are they finally getting rid of the place this winter? Good thing I got my credits!
