Park Hi TPR. My daughter's name is Klaire. She is almost 3. This is the family: Mike, Nicole, Miranda and myself Everyone has PTR's of most of the major amusement parks and we will be hitting a few this year, I thought I dedicate this thread to Klaire doing her kiddie parks and kiddie rides. We plan on hitting a bunch of parks and traveling coasters this summer. The first park of the year took us on a 6 hr round trip to Fredericksburg, VA on Friday 4/20. Not the best decision, but it was a fun trip for the whole family. Central Park Funland is a nice FEC with a soft play area, frog hopper, indoor himalaya, indoor bumper cars, indoor coaster and many arcade games. Finally, after 3 hrs and driving through Baltimore and DC traffic. There are many rides outside, but not open as of yet, and I got no pics of them. There is also a few mini golf courses and bumper boats. Don't have many pics of the place, but here are the rest. We had a nice fun family day out and it's right off 95, easy to anyone that wants to whore it out. The rest of the Pics: Klaire ready to ride Nicole and Klaire Himalaya sign That's it, until another trip sometime in late April/May. Unless places open earlier..... robbalvey
Fun stuff! Hope to see more. One thing to keep in mind - the weekends are some of the slowest days of the week on TPR (Fri eve - Sun afternoon), so you may get a better response on future trip reports posting them on Mon - Thurs. --Robb
gisco
It is awesome that your family will put up with a 3 hour car ride to visit a FEC. We get to see a lot of the big parks but not always the little places, keep posting as you go to these places!
niiicolaaah
I live a couple of miles away from that. I don't have the credit!!!!!!
Coastinmiller
Last night we crossed the river to southern Jersey to hit Pennsville Carnival. Why? Because Skelly's Amusements where there with their Dragon Wagon. Klaire got to ride, but I was denied b/c of a height restriction. Couldn't get on no matter what. There weren't too many rides, but it was a nice night to get out and change up the home routine. Klaire and I on the slide mini train Nicole and Klaire on the carousel Klaire likes Thomas the Train, especially the Mystic Island episodes, so when she seen the "shaky bridge" she had to go up and try it. It was one of two funhouses. We were going to do the other one, but the slide out was a spiral and fast. On the way over we saw a 3 yr old smash her face at the end of it b/c of how fast it was and out of control, so we passed on the other. Here is the one we did do: Climbing up on of the 2 funhouses. Shaky bridge upper "shaky bridge" slide out of the fun house Thanks for a fun night Skelly's. So long until the next installment...
Homeboy23
I live a couple of miles away from that. I don't have the credit!!!!!! I took my friends kids last summer hoping they would ride it so I could get the credit but that didn't happen Anyways, nice reports so far. Coastinmiller
This is going to be a double upload thanks to me breaking my $700 lens. Thankfully I had a backup camera. Today's installment is Sesame Place. Sesame Place is a nice kids park where, if you are over 36", can ride everything with your child. There isn't too many rides and they are really scattered in and about water rides. But the rides are thrilling enough for kids and fun for the adults as well since we can join in on the fun. We skipped the shows and the new parade. Klaire and John get there credit first. Going up thelift Looks like they are having fun onto the very niced themed carousel. Swings We were having a great day to this point. The picture below you going to see Klaire with a grumpy face. The story behind it is: After we got off the last free fall ride, I told her to go ride with "pop". She started to run to get him, tripped and fell. Usually with her it's no big deal, but at Sesame Place, the ground has rocks imbedded in concrete that stick out, almost like shards of glass. She cut her knee really good. So after some clean up and consoling we got her back into the spirit of riding rides again. Notice the nice raspberry on her left knee. Onto the nets. Stacking blocks It was after this we decided to break for lunch and not the only thing I broke. This is the point I decided I didn't need my lens on the camera and broke it Stay tuned for the 2nd installment with a bonus credit....
SharkTums
I love Sesame Place, that drop tower with the tiny kids on it always looks so funny!
simon8899
The lapbar on the Junior Coaster doesn't look very safe due to the size difference of the riders. As I've known all the security hustle-bustle in the US I'm surprised that this was allowed...
Coastinmiller
Now that I got a little free time, here's the second part. Some might be duplicate pictures, but it's from my backup camera that day. John and Klaire on the swings John and Klaire on the drop tower That's all from sesame place. See you again this summer when we come back for some water rides. So after Sesame Place, I tracked down a New York carnival operator, Dreamland Amusements, and find a traveling coaster at the Neshaminy Mall. Your typical carnival, but they had this: American Flyer Credit time... Klaire and John on American Flyer The rest of rides were your basic carnival rides. disneyfan1313
Thanks for putting these TRs together in a different way, looking more through the eyes of Klaire! And random fair and carny rides are also always fun to see.
Coastinmiller
It wouldn't be a Memorial Day Weekend without hitting some parks. So the plan was to do a small loop and do Adventure Park USA, Wisp resort for the apline coaster, Idlewild, Lakemont and DelGrosso's. Adventure Park USA in New Market MD is a nice FEC with the Wildcat relocated multiple times, but the last one from William's Grove, PA. I rode it while at William's Grove and thought it was running much better here. Adventure Park USA Wildcat Some of the other rides are bumper boats Small Carousel Tilt A Whirl an Indoor Soft Play Area, which was pretty nice. They also had a small ropes course inside, rock climbing wall inside and a nice looking mini golf course and go cart track. All not pictured. Next we headed off to Wisp to ride our first Alpine Coaster. Wow these are a lot of fun until you get to the slow poke in front of you and have to brake. Am looking forward to getting some more of these this summer. Of course Klaire and Nicole got in on the action. Nicole and Klaire coming down Have to get a shot of Miranda Lifthill shot. Coastinmiller
We've been to Idlewild a few times, but always enjoy going back. I just love this park for some reason and it's especially great for Klaire. We also saw one of the most interesting/unique/genius things we have EVER seen at an amusement park, see the bottom of the post. Wild Mouse and Rollo coaster were both done, but that didn't stop us from having a good time. Looks like Rollo Coaster is starting to get retracked: Shiny new wood.... If you looking for a good kidde park, really look no further that Idlewild. Going through the cheese at storybook forest Klaire in the ball pit Klaire made a mess with the kiddie bumper cars, pretty funny to watch. We then seen one of the most interesting/unique (choose you option here) that we have EVER seen in a amusement park. What do you think about this: Yes, that is a Segway pulling a cart with a child in it. Edited June 4, 2012 by Coastinmiller
gisco
I wouldn't say the guy is lazy on the Segway. Did you notice that he is missing a leg?

Coastinmiller
Ok, let's finish Memorial day weekend, sorry for the delay, trying to get things in order and having multiple bids for refi-ing the house. The last day we hit Delgrosso's and Lakemont. It was just a quick credit stop for Klaire to get her credits and then off to the in-laws, yea!! Time for some DelGrosso's Klaire sure does love her carousels. Klaire is on the train, but she said the seat was hot so she is squatting. Miranda and I Nicole gets the mouse credit. Klaire sure is good at waiting. The it's time for Lakemont. I never fully understand how this place still makes it. It is always dead and cheap to get in, though I do hope it does, since it has quite a gem in Leap the Dips. Does it get packed when there is baseball game? Off to Lakemont! Quick ride on the cars. Klaire gets the oldest coaster credit.

eddie200330
Nice trip through my neck of the woods!!!!! Wisp is 30 minutes up I-68 from us. And no I have never seen Lakemont "crowded", even on game days. We usually go at least 1 time a summer just because they have awesome flats and it is CHEAP!!!!!! DelGrosso's is a little better though.
Coastinmiller
Been slacking again and hitting a lot of parks lately. On Father's day weekend, packed up the family once again and headed to Ocean City MD for a day of coasters and fun. We hit Baja Amusements, Trimper's Rides and Jolly Roger Amusement Park. Klaire hit her first go-karts and had a blast with them. Of course being daddy's little girl, I had to go first Then mommy gets a turn Since I seem to take better pictures then her, here's a few more Love that smile! Prices: She's getting better... Credit time Another frog hopper credit Off to Trimper's rides for a quick visit for the credit. Daddy's first Mommy's turn. Get to let her be happy and ride her happy swing Whether you count it or not, Klaire's got it. We were denied Then to finish off the day we went to Jolly Roger Amusement Park. I like this little adventure course with zip line for the kids. I have to go back when she's tall enough to do it. Another hopper FunHouse LOVE this pic! Ready for the credit Klaire? YUP!
