Like any self respecting credit whore I have attempted to get on kiddie coasters without being in possession of a kid.

What are peoples experiences with kiddie coaster knockbacks and what scams have you employed to get that credit?

I just tried sneaking past the lady at Pterandon Flyers at IOA but I got collared, shame - that one actually looked ok.

At La Ronde I got told I couldn't ride in French and English, and I was just flat plain refused at Gemini Jr even though it was deserted, I begged but they didn't care.

I have heard with Pteradon Flyers, it's best to try right when the park opens but I'm not sure if that always works

Was it this ride that you couldn't ride at La Ronde: http://www.laronde.com/en/maneges/FTechManege.asp?Manege=27 ?

Doesn't look like there is a maximum height restrcition so it sounds like the ride ops were on a power trip

It really annoys me that some parks won't let adults ride kiddie coasters if adults are allowed to ride but only with a kid. If a park wants to say no adults then I really don't have a problem with that (like saying 54" maximum no exceptions), but if they say, anyone over 54" must ride with someone under 54", it doesn't seem right because the ride can obviously safely accomodate someone over 54" and if someone over 54" really wants to ride that badly, they should be allowed to. Those coasters rarely have a line so it's not like it's holding up the line to let a few people over 54" ride (how many people over 54" other than people who count coasters would want to ride anyway?)

The Gemini Jr. story you mentioned is the perfect example. Adults can ride if they ride with someone under 54", there doesn't seem any really great reason for Cedar Point to not allow someone over 54" to ride alone, especially if there was no one else riding

I got on Jr. Gemini because CP gave certificates to people to ride

usually Il just try to go on and if they refuse I say "screw it Im gonna go ride something else" after all you could be using the time you spend "stealing" a kid for the kiddie coaster credit in line for something better then a kiddie coaster

Yoshifan, that is the one at La Ronde, and I waited in line too. It was pretty irritating like most of the operations at the park. Even worse I hadn't done my homework and there was another credit - an indoor kiddie coaster at the back of the park I din't even know about. Worse still, I visited before they got a hyper.

I got my Pteranadon Flyers credit one day during the summer when it had been downpouring for a couple of hours. The park had almost completely emptied out...maybe I saw 100 other people in the park! So I asked the greeter if I could ride alone and in a sad vioce she said no, and I said "Oh, I was just hoping to get the credit." And she goes "Oh! You want the credit? Ok, go on in." hahaha The greeter was a credit whore! haha The ride wasn't that great, but I do have the much sought after credit.

^ Erik and I tried to get the Flyer credit. We actually said that we wanted to ride to get the credit and she just laughed at us. To this day neither of us have the credits. I guess next time we'll have to see if we can "borrow" some kids

We got the Pteranadon Flyers credit a couple of years ago. All we did was head straight to them as soon as they opened the Jurassic Park section. The guy at the front just waved us on through. It might have helped that one of the guys that was with us had a Florida Coaster Club shirt on.

One of my favorite knock backs was getting denied the Little Titans credit at Mt. Olympus. The guy just basically slammed the gate on us and told us to go ride the Pegasus and the Zeus. I personally think he was just too lazy to run the ride for us, as seems like the norm at that place.

We're actually heading to La Ronde this weekend, so I'm interested if we'll get denied the credit or not. Their webpage even has a feature where you plug in your height and it tells you what rides you are eligible to ride. The kiddie coaster is listed for people of an adult height to ride.

People can always get onto that Jetson's coaster at SFGAm... Interesting, I've never had that happen to me (although I AM 13)
