**2004**

The park isn't doing too hot right now. Attendance is down and they are having maintence issues with several of the original rides.

The park has also been forced to sell pieces of the land, making them add a parking lot closer to the park.

For 2004, the park added SWAT, a high speed inverting thrill ride. Here are some pictures:

Mind Eraser sure has been kept up...

Swat

The new parking lot

I think Geboldi would have at least added some trees

More soon!

I really like Batm....I mean Mind Eraser's new colors. It makes it look fun Rather than that stupid Turqiouse and Red, Six Flags usually paints them. Anyways the park is looking good. Maybe (now don't everyone attack me for this) the park will turn out to be to its full expectations! (Did I just say that, omg!)

***Announcement***

PARK CLOSING FOREVER!

Six Flags announced today that one of their newest parks, Six Flags Memphis, will be closing its doors forever at the end of this season. Due to land prices rising and lack of profit, Six Flags has decided it will be best for the community.

This comes after only a few years of the massive legal battle between Geboldi an Six Flags over who really owned the park. When asked to comment on whether Geboldi would buy the land, a Geboldi spokesperson said, "even Geboldi cannot save this park".

The park had been struggling with attendance ever since the park opened. Six Flags invested on repairs, but not as many new rides as hoped. Six Flags will be scrapping the historic Screamer coaster after searching for a new owner since the park opened. "We never wanted the coaster," a Six Flags spokesman said"but we were forced to bring it back to life after a grant from a preservation organization, now, even they don't want it."

The park plans to send Medusa to Six Flags Astroworld, which was spared from closing due to Six Flags Memphis. Acrophobia will be sent to Six Flags St. Louis and Mind Eraser will be sent to The Great Escape. No word on the other rides.

Deconstruction will begin at the end of September, the park has cancelled their Fright Fest events.
