ParkTrips Posted March 31, 2006 Posted March 31, 2006 www.sixflags.com has changed a little but is still pretty much the same content past the home page and the park indices. Park examples: http://www.sixflags.com/texas http://www.sixflags.com/georgia *fixed Perhaps this is a sign of change? That would be good, because their websites pretty much suck, but this all goes back to the new guys' marketing prowess one would have to think. Some parks, like Magic Mountain, remain the same (for now, I was just on the site this morning and it was the "old" site so it could very well be "new" by the time you read this) Thoughts? I personally want them to redo the whole site and add more useful info and content, not to mention make it look better - the red doesn't match the blue to well, IMO. The new flash objects are nice, but how about a lo-band site for all those dialup folks too?
mb425 Posted March 31, 2006 Posted March 31, 2006 The new main park pages look good, I like them better them a lot the old ones. Now they just need to update the rest of the information pages to be consistent with the rest of the design.

Now they just need to update the rest of the information pages to be consistent with the rest of the design. That and do something about the banner ads, some of them look pixelated. Also, I just noticed that ALL of the park's homepages have been redesigned. And a much needed one too!
TheGreatOne Posted March 31, 2006 Posted March 31, 2006 I won't consider their site updated until they remove Astroworld...which has literally been removed from Houston.
captain_dl Posted March 31, 2006 Posted March 31, 2006 Have you noticed this change ... Family Fright Fest October 1 - October 29 Fri/Sat/Sun in October – Your favorite characters and performers are back for another year of frightfully good fun. This year the entire park transforms into a family-friendly wonderland that's fun for all ages.
Damien666 Posted April 1, 2006 Posted April 1, 2006 Let's all hope this Family Fright Frest is only during the day. Because if they have at night, we might have a problem with the scary Fright Fest clashing with the family kind.
ShoubraStreet74 Posted April 1, 2006 Posted April 1, 2006 The SFMM main page looks pretty much the same. It's a step in the right direction but even with the new front pages, the six flags sites are generally lacking. I would like to see updated pages for the rides with some decent pics, and a few other changes. However as I said this is a step in the right direction and I remain optimistic that it will hopefully only get better.
robbalvey Posted April 1, 2006 Posted April 1, 2006 Let's all hope this Family Fright Frest is only during the day. Because if they have at night, we might have a problem with the scary Fright Fest clashing with the family kind. When we did the ITL podcast from SFMM about a month ago the PR manager did say that this year Fright Fest would become "Family Fright Fest" focusing on something for a younger crowd. It sounded like what WDW tries to do with "Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party." California has nothing like that, and they already have one halloween event that pretty much dominates the area (Knott's Haunt) so if SFMM could pull off something like it might be good for them. --Robb
lapseofreason Posted April 1, 2006 Posted April 1, 2006 ^What, does that mean they're going to get rid of that dude on Log Jammer that swung out on a rope and scared the crap out of me last year? I also don't see any changes on the SFMM website except, woohoo, a bluish background color, which clashes horribly with the red tables. -Amanda "I need to freaking go to school for more webpage design skills; some of these sites need a lesson" V.
okinawaboy11 Posted April 1, 2006 Posted April 1, 2006 Mmmm Me Gusta. They almost got an Interactive feeling to them, minus the park when you click on the link it just takes you to parts of the old site.
mb425 Posted April 1, 2006 Posted April 1, 2006 Wow, now I'm really impressed! They are actually using real pictures from Wyandot Lake for the main page instead of the stupid stock photos! (Although I would hardly call the Sea Dragon a coaster with "white knuckle twists and turns")
