Hey everyone!

Since we've gotten so busy lately with the UK trip, our new DVD, and other random updates we could use some help from all of you with adding entries to the calendar. Here is what we are looking for:

- Park opening dates

- Coaster Club Events

- Any other official organized significant event or meet

It's VERY simple to create calendar topics but I do ask that topics that are entered MUST fall into one of the above categories. So please DO NOT post something like "Hey do you want to meet up at SFMM on Friday" as a calendar topic, those can go in the normal TP, RC, & D forum.

When you are creating calendar topics, here is a quick instruction guide.

First off, take a look at one of last year's calendar months to get an idea of how it worked. March 2005 is good example:

http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/calendar.php?start=20050301&fid=Root

STEP 1:

First you need to create the topic in the "Coaster Events - Calendar Topics" forum:

http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=5

STEP 2:

Click "New Topic"

STEP 3:

Create the event and date in the topic title.

Your "Subject" should be the event (in this example Lake Compounce Opening Day - 2006) and the "Description" should be the date (May 13th, 2006). Here is how it should look:

STEP 4:

Add the date to the calendar.

Using the drop down menus next to the "Calendar Event" option, choose the date of the event. You do NOT need to enter anything in the "Event Time" or "During" (duration) boxes, but if the event covers more than one day, for example Holiwood Nights, you can enter "2 Days" under "During" (duration). Here is how it should look:

A couple other things to remeber.

- Whatever you are entering please CHECK THE CALENDAR FIRST to make sure the event has not already been submitted.

- When adding park opening dates, please CONFIRM the date with the park's website!

So that's it! Thanks to everyone for their help!

What if it is already in the forum but not on the calender...do we make a new post...or should the original poster edit it?

Thanks for showing us this...I thought the mods had to add the calender events.

^^Good Question. If it's someone who's 'known' around here and posts a lot, let them go ahead and edit it. (Maybe even send them a PM)

If not, go ahead and start a new thread.

Actually, I was wondering something a little along those lines. I'm planning a birthday thing for myself (I know, conceded) but anyway, I was wondering if I could post it on there to see if people would like to go. "Jay Willis Birthday Bash" at Lake Compounce would sould about right.

You can post about things like that in the general roller coaster board, but we prefer not to have those kinds of things on the calendar. With 10,000 members, if even 1/4 of them posted about a random meet, the calendar would be cluttered with lots of "un-official" meet ups, and that's just not the purpose of the calendar.

So to remind everyone again:
