That $50 gets you a spot on Team Theme Park Review, a Polar Plunge Shirt, Breakfast, goodies, and the day’s admission into Hurricane Harbor. If you raise more money, you’ll get other cool Polar Plunge stuff in addition to your shirt and admission. As a special incentive to my Team Theme Park Review participants I will be giving out my own incentives! $50 – Gets you a Theme Park Review Pen $100 – Gets you a Theme Park Review DVD & Pen $150+ – Gets you a Theme Park Review DVD, Pen, and Shirt! It’s easy to raise the money! Ask family, friends, relatives, heck even ask people on the board that are too far away to participate but may want to make a donation! All donations are Tax Deductible! Checks should be made out to Special Olympics. You can also use a credit card or cash. All money goes directly to the athletes that I work with on a daily basis; your support is greatly appreciated. Please if you have any questions post them here, call me at the office 661-253-2121, or email me. I’d really like to get a big team together for this event. It’s sure to be a lot of fun! Erik Johnson Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 $10 to the first person who is willing to sign up. I wish I could do more, but it is a start!
sfne2005 Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 "Polar Plunge" in California? How cold can the water be??? Santa Clarita's Sauna Plunge...... Kidding aside, sounds like a good idea Elissa.
SharkTums Posted March 17, 2006 Author Posted March 17, 2006 ^That was my first impression as well! Oh well, we get the best of both worlds! Polar Pluge in 70 degree water, and a waterpark the rest of the day! For me, it will be cold, I don't like water unless it's 82 degrees or higher! Someone take Eric up on his offer, then you only need to raise $40 more!
BelizeIt Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 Well Elissa, I would like to personally contribute to your worthy cause... Though, I won't be able to attend your "Polar Plunge" on May 6th, I'll donate $100.00 towards this worthy event. Elissa, you have obviously given much more than just your time an effort towards the Special Olympics, and it shows!!! In that case, I'm glad to assist in anyway possible, because I don't doubt that your job is a difficult and challenging one. I wish you all the success you deserve!
cfc Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 We nonprofiteers have to stick together, Elissa. I'm willing to chip in $50. One of my coworkers took the Special Olympics Polar Plunge in Virginia Beach. Turned out to be a fairly warm day, but he said that the Atlantic was freakin' cold!
SharkTums Posted March 17, 2006 Author Posted March 17, 2006 This is great guys! You can either mail a check to: Special Olympics Santa Clarita Valley 24779 Valley St Santa Clarita, CA 91321 or Paypal me the money, I can donate it on your behalf and mail you a tax receipt. Also, all you So Cal youngins that want to go plunge but maybe don't have the money...these guys could sponsor you! Thanks again everyone! I'm sure we'll have some really great Photo TR's from the event!
Guy T. Koepp Posted March 18, 2006 Posted March 18, 2006 Count me in! Eric, I will take your 10 bucks! Elissa! Put me on team TPR! Do I gets some sort of sponsor package to show people?
M_Force_4_ever Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 Polar Plunge in SoCal??? well I did the Polar Plunge here in Illinois here in Illinois a few weeks back and I couldn't feel my legs I raised $80, so the challenge is to meet that!
Guy T. Koepp Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 I accept your challenge! I will raise mucho dinero for tha kids!
M_Force_4_ever Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 alright good luck Guy...oh yeah the hoodies they give (at least in Illinois) are cool and have a nice graphic
SharkTums Posted March 22, 2006 Author Posted March 22, 2006 Guy, email me your address and I'll get some of the brochures out to you ASAP!
SharkTums Posted March 22, 2006 Author Posted March 22, 2006 Robb has it, but I don't have it at work. I just sent the stuff out! Thanks again everyone, this is going to be fun!
Guy T. Koepp Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 I am so looking forward to freezing my sweet butt cheeks off in 90 degree May. I'm thinking the water should be a balmy 75 degrees. Oooooooooooo chilly! Guy "I will no longer have a stellar ass, cause it will be frozen off." Koepp
Splash_Mountain Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 If I can somehow get transportation to Valencia, and my parents are cool with it, I will definatly sign up!!!
SharkTums Posted March 23, 2006 Author Posted March 23, 2006 Well, there are 32,805,041 Canadians in the world today so I'm guessing that yes, it's possible to be Canadian! Anyone is welcome to participate in this event! Looks like we've got a great team shaping up!
Splash_Mountain Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 LOL... Duh. Any idea on how I could get to Valencia?
SharkTums Posted March 23, 2006 Author Posted March 23, 2006 ^Reality Check at this point. You're 16 and in Canada, you're not going to be able to make it down for the event. Thanks for your interest!
Splash_Mountain Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 I may be 16 and in Canada... but... I'm in California at that time, and my Mom likes it when I do good stuff.
Guy T. Koepp Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 LOL... Duh. Any idea on how I could get to Valencia? Hop on a Bus to Hollywood. As you get off, there will plenty of kind gentlemen willing and able to help you get to the San Fernando Valley. Once you get there, do your obligitory 5 scenes, exit the warehouse and take a cab the 15 miles to Magic Mountain. That's what I did. With a little time and therapy. You'll be fine.
cfc Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 ^Seesh! And to think I wasted all this time chanting in a pentagram to request that the Elder Gods (I'm talking to you, C'thulu!) transport me there, when there were those nice men in the San Fernando Valley. Hey, Elissa, Should I note that my check for the plunge donation should go to "Team TPR" or something? Chuck
SharkTums Posted March 24, 2006 Author Posted March 24, 2006 ^That would be perfect! And just so people don't have to look far...send all donations to: Special Olympics 24779 Valley St. Santa Clarita, CA 91321 Attn: Polar Plunge Call me at work 661-253-2121 if you have any questions! If you'd like to raise more money, I can send you out some brochures on the event as well. I open all the mail so it will be fine if you just throw in a little note that says it's for Team Theme Park Review.
Erik Johnson Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 I am going to send out a check to Guy in tomorrow's mail.
