Shockwave Posted February 25, 2006 Posted February 25, 2006 OK Robb, here's some pictures of Gardaland the year before they built the Screamin' Squirrel. Part 1 of 2: Names are listed respectively under rides until a different ride is shown. Blue Tornado Colorado Boat Fuga D'Atlantide
Jeezus Juice Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 Awesome, I loved Fuga. Intamin water-coaster goodness! You got some really good pictures of Blue Tornado too. That ride looks great, even if it's an SLC! Looking forward to some more! -Don
Shockwave Posted February 26, 2006 Author Posted February 26, 2006 Ok, here's the second part. Fuga D'Atlantide & Jungle Rapids Top Spin Space Vertigo Magic Mountain Random waterfall! Flying Island Entrance
Hattuchili Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 Gardaland looks nice. Thanks for all the great pictures, Tom! --Sören
Gutterflower Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 heya tom Some awesome pics. i went to Gardaland when they were building the Intamin water coaster. I love blue tornado. it may be an SLC but i thought it was awesome magic mountain was a passable looper too. The top spin there was my first too.... oh the memories.
viking86 Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 They must have repainted Blue Tornado before the 2005 season. It looked fantastic when I was there last year.
The Riddler Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 Thanks for the great photo's. Last year i visited the park for the 1st time and it's fantastic and verry nice. The theming is nice there, Il Cosari is the best dark-ride i've done so far.
Shockwave Posted February 27, 2006 Author Posted February 27, 2006 They must have repainted Blue Tornado before the 2005 season. It looked fantastic when I was there last year. Wow, that's looking rather nice! I suspect the whole park got a nice sprucing along the arrival of the Screamin' Squirrel. The only thing that really frustrates me about Gardaland is the lack of a big coaster. It needs an iconic ride that is taller than anything else in the park, because the focus is too much on what I'd call "supoprting" rides.
viking86 Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 ^I agree! Its a fantastic place, but the rides are unfortunately 'only average'
viking86 Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 Oh yes, I forgot about that one. That ride was REALLY impressive!
Millenniumguy Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 Well dosen't Gardaland have Sierra Tonate? Which I believe is a CCI? Other then that looks like a Italian PCW
viking86 Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 Sierra Tonanta is in Mirabilandia, not Gardaland. And its built by William Cobb, not CCI. It may look impressive, but its definately NOT a good ride. Its rough, slow and boring and has no airtime at all.
Millenniumguy Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 Oh, I see. Cobb also designed this crap Rolling Thunder here in SFGAdv(my homepark), and it's awful.
coasterboi Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 I didnt think the pirate ride was up to much when i went but i love Gardaland i think Funga D Atlantide is my favourate ride there mainly cause of the theaming.I Also loved the merlin show in the medievel aerea the effects are really cool in that
