We're knights of the Round Table

We dance when'er we're able

We do routines and chorus scenes

With footwork impeccable

We dine well here in Camelot

We eat ham and jam and SPAM a lot!!!!

I love SPAM, the foodstuff in question also, by the by....

I just usually slice it up, for sandwiches.

Rarely fry it up, tho I remember that being a good way to eat it.

Mmmmm fried SPAM.

~~~~~~
Hmmm. Maybe TPR should sponsor a SPAM-Carving Contest???
And you have to be able to take a pic of your finished creation for posting here on the thread. Winner gets credit, not much else, except to be able to eat their winning creation... eventually.
Mmm yummy.
Anybody hear ever listen to Ask Dr. Science on National Public Radio? One of his funniest bits was explaining the origin of spam. Turns out that "spam" is a government acronym for "scientifically produced animal matter." This creature was developed as a protein source for the US Army and has no teeth or fur, thus making it the "ideal luncheon meat on the hoof." It is distantly related to a synthetic jellyfish called "the Velveeta."
Remember he has a master's degree . . . in "science"!
^Don't take my word for it--ask Dr. Science!
"Remember--he knows more than you!"
"That's right!"
Weird Al has a song devoted to Spam. He used the song "Stand" by REM. The only lines I can remember goes something like:
"Spam in your home and at work.
Ham and Pork.
Think about nutrition
And wonder what's in now."
I use to like it as a kid, but now it just taste kind of funky.
Here is the full lyrics to SPAM!!! Yay more contributions to the SPAM thread!!
Spam in the place where I live (ham and pork)
Think about nutrition, wonder what’s inside it now (oh boy)
Spam in my luchbox at work (it’s the best)
Really makes a darn good sandwhich any way you slice it at all
If you’re running low, go to the store
Carry some money to help you buy more
The tab is there to open the can
The can is there to hold in the spam
Oh, spam on the table at home (ham and pork)
Think about selection, are there different flavors now (let’s eat)
Spam in my office at work (it’s the best)
Think about the stuff it’s made from, wonder if it’s mystery of meat
If you need a spoon, keep one around
Carry a thermose to help wash it down
Now, if there’s some left, don’t just throw it out
Use it for spackle or bathroom grout, now
Spam in my pantry at home (have some more)
Think of expiration, better read the lable (oh boy)
Spam breakfast, dinner, or lunch (it’s the best)
Think about how it’s been precooked, wonder if I’ll just eat it cold
Now, once you start in, you can’t put it down
Don’t leave it sitting or it’ll turn brown
The key is going to open the tin
The tin is there to keep the spam in
Oh, spam (spam)
Ham and pork
Think about nutrition, wonder what’s inside it now (oh boy)
Spam (spam)
It’s the best
Really makes a darn good sandwhich any way you slice it
Spam in the place where I live (have some more)
Think about addiction, wonder if I’m a junkie now (let’s eat)
Spam in the place where I work (you’re obsessed)
Think about the way it’s processed, wonder if it’s some kind of meat
Spam in the back of my car (ham and pork)
Spam any place that you are (ham and pork)
The tab is there to open the can (spam any place that you are) (ham and pork)
The can is there to hold in the spam (spam any place that you are) (ham and pork)
My friend has a can of that, he keeps it as a joke. We looked at some of the ingredients, and it is disgusting!
"Mechanically Seperated Chicken"
"Pork Fat"
And much more!
The amount of fat in one serving is rediculously high too.
I ate SPAM for the first time last month. It's always been a part of the morning meat rotation of the standard Navy breakfast, but I never felt the desire to try it. I even lived in the land of SPAM, Minnesota, for two years without ever trying it. So finally I broke down, figuring if it was terrible, the company couldn't possibly stay in business this long, right?
WTF?
That stuff is disgusting!
Hyper-salted ground pork?
What's to like? Never again, thank you!
Now, Eggs Benedict, on the other hand...
