jcgoldcoast
Sorry TheBannedKid, your kinda 1/2 wrong about the Premiere for PC, FCP for Mac. Originally Premiere was developed for both Mac and PC, and up until OSX came out ran on both systems. Then FCP came out and blew the Mac Premiere users away and not so many people purchased it for mac anymore. Premiere has since only been in production for the PC format and while it is a very reasonable product (I learnt to edit on Premiere 6.5) it has nowhere near the scope of Avid or FCP anymore. There are quite a number of differences between Premiere and FCP, one of the main differences being they way that each program handles effects and the actual rendering of files. Another major difference is the way files are handled and the way they are imported. The editing interface is also very different and FCP comes with multiple "external" programs that allow you to create titles, music tracks, manage 8, 16 and 35mm film that you are using in a project and a "control" centre for the export of video and film projects from FCP. I would in no way say that Premiere and FCP are almost exact copies of each other.
TheBannedKid
Well then I must not have gone deep into editing on the two becasue I have been able to make better videos with Premiere than with FCP.
kennywood!007
I use Windows Movie Maker. I love it, easy, fast, fun. It has some cool effects too!
thefitness
When ever i try to use my windows movie maker it says that the file is nt the correct type...how do i change the file of a video?
TheBannedKid
You have to convert the video file...what is the format of it right now? Sometimes you can find a free converter, but usually it costs some money. You just look for a "INSERT FILE TYPE HERE" to AVI Converter. I think AVI is the standard for Windows Movie Maker. I never said one was better than the other in their current state, I said on Mac, FCP was better than Premiere

Some differences here and there, and I guess if you get REALLY technical they probably have different features, but for the most part, I can do everything I need to do in either program. Why is this such a big deal anyway? *shrug*
jcgoldcoast
Its not really that bigga deal, I just like making a big deal out of it (mainly because my compatition/friend is a Premiere user and im a FCP guy I'm also not saying you cant do one thing in one program that you cant in another, its just done a different way most of the time (and personally I think some of the things in Premiere dont make sense, but thats probably just me being a FCP user now)
doitdumont1128
Well, does anyone know about one for Windows 2000 professional, I could always use Windows Movie Maker on my parents computer, but they get pissed, and my computer sucks. =(
J man
I just got Adobe Premiere Pro. I'm still kinda getting used to it. I've gotten used to doing my videos on either Magix Video Deluxe or Pinnacle Studio 8. So trying to get familiar with another program is kinda weird. Stealth
I use Roxio Videowave 7 pro, the programme is great for me when it works, but recently it just won't stop crashing, I can edit about 30 seconds of video if that before it crashes and I have to start the programme again. I might upgrade to version 8 but I'm also thinking of trying out another programme. How much does the Adobe one cost?
