I have 17 days off from work in February, and I plan to take advantage of one of my flight attendant perks to do a little Disneyland tour. So far my itinerary is as follows:

Feb 12th

Arrive Los Angeles

Feb 12th-15th

Disneyland, DCA, possibly Knott's or Universal

Feb 16th

Los Angeles-Hong Kong

Feb 16th-20th

Hong Kong Disneyland, Ocean Park, explore Hong Kong

Feb 20th

Hong Kong-Tokyo

Feb 20th-25th

Tokyo Disney Resort, other parks, explore Tokyo

I tried to book a room at all the Disneyland Resort hotels, but there were none available for my selected dates. Can anyone recommend a good hotel CLOSE to Disneyland? Preferably within walking distance. Thanks in advance!

I wouldn't mind any helpful tips for Hong Kong and Tokyo as well

LOL!

We were all just discussing a possible TPR Disney Around the World trip visiting all the Disney parks!

One quick question...where are you flying to/from as your original point? That will help me understand your logic a bit.

We are Disney and Coaster enthusiasts and we felt that a full day at Hong Kong Disney during peak season was enough. We did EVERYTHING multiple times. I don't want you to be bored in Hong Kong so you might think about adding more time in Tokyo.

TPR Disney Around the World... sign me up already!

I will be flying from Oslo, Norway. Travel time to LAX will be about 18-19 hours. I might go the other way instead (start out with Tokyo and end up at Disneyland). That way I can fly during the nighttime and save money on 3 nights of hotel rooms (11 instead of 14). The only problem is that seat availability is lower that way

Thanks for the Hong Kong tip! I know that Hong Kong Disneyland is small, but I guess I'll be done with most of the resort in just a day. I want to see Ocean Park too (because of your trip report of course!), so I guess two days in HK will be enough. How was Disney's Hollywood Hotel, by the way? Would you recommend staying close to the resort rather than in the city?

I would do:

Oslo - LAX

Disneyland for a few days

LAX - Tokyo

Tokyo and Disney for a long time!!!

Tokyo - Hong Kong

HKDisney, Ocean park, and Hong Kong for 2 or 3 days

Hong Kong - Oslo.

This way you're not backtracking at all, and maximize your time at the cool parks!

:o

What a brilliant idea! I hadn't thought of that option at all! My mind was all set on Hong Kong "in the middle". With Tokyo now in the middle, I get to travel on weekdays. That will give me a better chance of getting seats on the best flights.

I was working on a budget here, and your idea just made everything work out perfectly! (At least on the screen) LOL

Thanks!

Be sure to experience what the Disney is all about! Just make sure to watch Disney's Dreams on Parade at TDL, Tower of Terror at DCA, Indiana Jones at TDS/DL. Just try not to rush too much and think about riding the rides. Try to experience the entertainment, Food (especially at Tokyo Disney Resort), and the whole atmosphere and you'll have an awesome trip!

Don't forget photo TR!!

Im just going to speak for the CA Disney's but 3 days is really all you need at the So. Cal parks! ( and I actually like DCA ) The Florida parks are totally different. I really could spend a WHOLE lot of time there. Just have fun!

Oslo > LA > Tokyo > HK?

Why not the other way round to take advantage of the international date line?

I travelled from Tokyo to LA on the 1st Aug at 7pm arrived 1st Aug 1pm 6 hours before with a nights sleep in between!

I managed a morning and afternoon in Tokyo (doing LaQua and Joylopis) and afternoon and Evening wandering around Hollywood.

So in Disney terms you could do a Tokyo Disney (any last rides you missed out on) in a morning and spend that afternoon at DCA - you wont need alot of time here. I mananged to get round it all in a morning(although Screamin was closed).

That gives you an extra bonus day that you wouldn't get flying West to do Universal or Knotts. Might be worth your while considering, LA is cheaper than Tokyo to stay in.
