  1. 1978 and the ones I've been on: 1. Montezooma's Revenge, KBF 2. Colossus, SFMM 3. Shock Wave, SFOT I would add Greezed Lightning to the list. Sadly I never got to go on it before Astroworld closed
  2. I just read on disneyworld.com that the last operating day of Maelstrom will be October 5th. Does anyone know of any events planned for the day to commemorate the closing? I've been thinking of heading over to Orlando for a last ride before Maelstrom closes for good.
  3. Thanks for a fun report on a bizarre place! What's with all the cutouts? I visited this park back in 2005 before it was sold to TBN. To see what it was all about, of course, I am in no way religious. Anyway, I can swear the guy who took our ticket at the entrance was some sort of incarnation of Ned Flanders. Same mustache, same glasses, same voice. It was mind-boggling! Back then they also used the Jesus grave site for a grand closing show every night. Instead of fireworks, the park closed with Jesus being crucified, whips and blood and all. I have a video of it somewhere. It was crazy!
  4. My husband is going on a business trip to Mexico City on Friday, and with some free time on my hands I decided to join in the last minute. The fact that I haven't been there before and could add a few credits to my list might have something to do with it... Anyway, could anyone offer any tips on the easiest way of getting to Six Flags Mexico? My Spanish is not good enough to make any sense of the website and I have yet to find an English version (but thank you, Google Translate). It looks like the metro and a Six Flags bus is the fastest option, unless I take a taxi? Any tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
  5. Last one was I305 during the evening ERT at the end of the IntimidaTour. I305 was also my 400th coaster earlier that day and possibly my new favorite steel coaster
  6. I agree, it just doesn't sound right. I'm not a big fan of the new logo either. Guess it has to grow on me
  7. Thanks for taking your time to scan and post this! Amazing read!!
  8. :o What a brilliant idea! I hadn't thought of that option at all! My mind was all set on Hong Kong "in the middle". With Tokyo now in the middle, I get to travel on weekdays. That will give me a better chance of getting seats on the best flights. I was working on a budget here, and your idea just made everything work out perfectly! (At least on the screen) LOL Thanks! Edit: added extra emoticon...
  9. TPR Disney Around the World... sign me up already! I will be flying from Oslo, Norway. Travel time to LAX will be about 18-19 hours. I might go the other way instead (start out with Tokyo and end up at Disneyland). That way I can fly during the nighttime and save money on 3 nights of hotel rooms (11 instead of 14). The only problem is that seat availability is lower that way Thanks for the Hong Kong tip! I know that Hong Kong Disneyland is small, but I guess I'll be done with most of the resort in just a day. I want to see Ocean Park too (because of your trip report of course!), so I guess two days in HK will be enough. How was Disney's Hollywood Hotel, by the way? Would you recommend staying close to the resort rather than in the city? MrE
  10. I have 17 days off from work in February, and I plan to take advantage of one of my flight attendant perks to do a little Disneyland tour. So far my itinerary is as follows: Feb 12th Arrive Los Angeles Feb 12th-15th Disneyland, DCA, possibly Knott's or Universal Feb 16th Los Angeles-Hong Kong Feb 16th-20th Hong Kong Disneyland, Ocean Park, explore Hong Kong Feb 20th Hong Kong-Tokyo Feb 20th-25th Tokyo Disney Resort, other parks, explore Tokyo I tried to book a room at all the Disneyland Resort hotels, but there were none available for my selected dates. Can anyone recommend a good hotel CLOSE to Disneyland? Preferably within walking distance. Thanks in advance! I wouldn't mind any helpful tips for Hong Kong and Tokyo as well Eirik
