lapseofreason Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 I've heard talk of people parking off-site and walking up the hill, thus eliminating the stupid 10 dollar parking fee. Question: is there anywhere around there where I can park, with no time limit or the threat of getting towed? (I know, not any of those restaurants where there's signs every two feet.) Any info would help before Thursday/tomorrow morning, thanks! (I just don't want to pay 10 freaking dollars to park!) -Amanda
CoasterFanatic Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 Robbs House Seriously ... pay the $10! They probably need it more than you.
lapseofreason Posted December 22, 2005 Author Posted December 22, 2005 Robbs House Seriously ... pay the $10! They probably need it more than you. OK, seriously.. I'm broke. The only reason I'm going is arrowfanman said it was dead and our passes expire next week.
larrygator Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 sell your plasma then to pay for parking
CoasterFanatic Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 Really, in all seriousness, there isn't really many options but to park in the lot. The park is located on a hill and there isn't much around but housing developments and a gas station. I am not sure if SFMM has one, but many of the Six Flags parks have bus stops. You may want to check if there is a local route. Bus fare would surely be cheaper than $10.
4718 Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 You could always park in the Human Resources parking lot and hop the 3' fence to get into the guest lot, not totally legit, but by far the closest parking you'll find that's free. Then just go in HR and say something stupid like you want an application or a t shirt or something like that, and it'd be even better. The other option could be to park in the employee lot, but that's a pretty long walk, and Security's gonna look at you funny when you walk all the way across the super empty massive parking lot.....just go with the HR one if you must park for free.

lapseofreason Posted December 23, 2005 Author Posted December 23, 2005 Yeah, I know that all too well.
ebl Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 $10 for parking is steep, I admit, but all the trouble of parking down by the freeway and walking up, or parking in a lot where you may be towed is just not worth it. Pay the $10 and enjoy your day. Or if you visit often, buy the Xtreme Play Pass. You'll recoup the extra $75 in no time with the free parking and all the food and merchandise discounts. That's why I get it. Eric
shepp Posted December 24, 2005 Posted December 24, 2005 ^ These days, 10 bucks isn't that out of line, and I'm guessing it's part of SFI's strategy: "Make the printer cheap and charge a lot for ink." My SFMW SP will cost just $55 again this year (and has, at least till now, included free weekday morning parking, yippee) , and when I go to Magic Mountain and get in the gate free, paying $10 to park will seem like a relative bargain. On the other hand, I cheaped out when I went to Waterworld Concord (also free admission with the pass) 'cause I didn't want to pay $8 to park, and ended up with a $28 ticket. Note to Waterworld-goers: You know that thing on the left just before you get to the park that looks just like a car-filled parking lot? According to the police, it's not.
Jeezus Juice Posted December 26, 2005 Posted December 26, 2005 Back when I was driving a totla ghetto-booty machine I would park at the youth park just north of SFMW and walk 1/2 a block. As for SFMM I'm thinking either in the neighborhood just south of the parking lot entrence or east on SFMM parkway somewhere. Either way the hike up the hill probably won't be worth it. Just make your boyfriend pay the $10. Your worth it right?! -don
arrowfanman Posted December 26, 2005 Posted December 26, 2005 If you trust the Santa Clarita public transportation, the Santa Clarita Transit station is a few blocks away from SFMM. Park there and pay the 2-some-odd-bucks-per-person to ride the transit-bus. It drops off right next too X's raven turn. But as it has been said, it would probably be easiest to simply pay the 10 bucks... ...but then again, I just got an Xtreme play pass, with free parking!
4718 Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 But as it has been said, it would probably be easiest to simply pay the 10 bucks... No, the easiest would be what I pointed out.......and everyone somehow missed. Park in the Human Resources lot, hop the fence, don't get hit by cars bombing into the big lot, walk across to the tram road and get a ride in. Free and feasible, but probably frowned upon if you get busted.
goliathking Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 I'm like turning 12 on Jan.5 and like i'm getting a play pass for 2006. I live in Lancaster. And we have a bus that goes straight to this drop off place like a half a mile from Magic Mountain. Then another bus comes and takes you all the way to X's raven turn. Yeah so I don't have to pay parking, mainly because I can't drive. But when I went there for fright fest. My dad parked right in the parking lot where Scream, Colossus, and Goliath resign and he didn't have to pay anything. Oh yeah, and I have 2 questions. Is it really that cold up there in January? And, does everything really fly out of your pocket on X?
