Gnome Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 So, Myspace has the option of typing in your email, and showing you all your email contacts's myspace. ANd because of your newsletter, your name showed up. So, are we (tpr members) suppose to add you?
robbalvey Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 I'm not sure what you mean. --Robb "Who doesn't quite understand MySpace." Alvey
CoasterCrazy Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 ^What don't you understand about Myspace?
robbalvey Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 ^ I guess I'm not really sure what the whole point of it is. --Robb "I updated my profile, but not quite sure what I'm supposed to do next." Alvey
Gnome Posted November 9, 2005 Author Posted November 9, 2005 i guess you add people, and then they comment on how funny or great your pictures are, but we seem to do that here anyways.
CoasterCrazy Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 Robb, the next thing you do is personalize it that is why it's called myspace.
arrowfanman Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 Yea...I deleted my account about 3 months ago because I lost sight of the point and got sick of them sending me emails! Lol.
tinkerbell Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 (edited) I basically use it to talk to people I already know. Lame I know, but more people seem to be using that than email or AIM or anything like that (at least out of the people I know), so it's just easier. Edited November 10, 2005 by tinkerbell
benzo41190 Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 I hate myspace. IMO, it is pointless because you make friends but thats it. You may never even talk to that person again
CoasterFanatic Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 I updated my profile, but not quite sure what I'm supposed to do next. First you add a bunch of friends. Next you litter your profile with a bunch of links to your REAL site. Of course, for maximum effect, surround said links with killer phrases that will boost your inbound link count with quality referrals. Next you post silly bulletins. These bulletins will become a part of all your "Friends" profile pages for a short period of time. Make sure to also include more links for maximum effect. Repeat Step 1 // at least that is what I do
Wes Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 Also, post almost nude pictures of you. And add a bunch of videos to your page playing at the same time, terrible CSS effects, flash images, etc. so it crashes people's browsers. Your Myspace isn't cool til' you can crash people's computer.
ParkTrips Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 Your Myspace isn't cool til' you can crash people's computer. ... and steal someone else's bandwidth
tinkerbell Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 Next you post silly bulletins. Yeah, especially the ones that say "Some dead kid is going to stab you at midnight if you don't repost this." Those are my personal favorites....
Mind Eraser Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 I think it's required that if you're a gay male on MySpace, you must post pictures of yourself without a shirt or in a thong. Oh yeah, anyone remember Friendster?
CoasterFanatic Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 ... and steal someone else's bandwidth Hell yeah. // Note to Microsoft Developers: Support HTACCESS on IIS7 ... please!
Blazen_AZN Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 Yeah, especially the ones that say "Some dead kid is going to stab you at midnight if you don't repost this." Those are my personal favorites.... Yeah, especially the ones that say "Some dead kid is going to stab you at midnight if you don't repost this." Four of the worst years of my life. I wanted to go to South High, but I got stuck going to Catholic School. --Robb "Private catholic school REALLY sucks." Alvey

Alvey Yeah, I'm scared about going there, I've been arguing about it with my parents for awhile (thanks for making me want to resist it more!) I went to one catholic school already, HATED IT. I'm public now, but my parents want me to go to Bishop! Mark "I want to go to Pedro High" W. by the way, what middle/elementery school did you go to?
Gnome Posted November 11, 2005 Author Posted November 11, 2005 Lutheran High Orange county is the best private school, if there ever was one.
robbalvey Posted November 11, 2005 Posted November 11, 2005 ^^ St.Philomena in Carson. --Robb "I grew up a catholic gangsta yo!" Alvey
XLRBR Posted November 12, 2005 Posted November 12, 2005 Ugh. My myspace is soo boring because besides Tom, I only have three friends! That is the whole reason I made a myspace! To make friends! But either way it's alright. --Davon "urm...dunno :? "
coasterdude5 Posted November 12, 2005 Posted November 12, 2005 I'm really sad.... Half of my friends are coasters and themeparks.
Dr Freeze Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 I like MySpace for looking up people I haven't talked to in years and lost contact with. I got a message a few months ago from a girl I haven't seen since 7th grade. I've found about 8 people I went to highschool with and lost contact with. So yea, I think its nice for keeping up with some people. I only add people I actually know on my friends list (except for maybe Dane Cook, King Kong, and Jack Skellington). I don't see a point of adding thousands of people you don't know. The groups feature is another thing I like. Some of the people from the theatre I work at formed a group. Some of the bulletins are what we think of the movies or get-togethers that are being planned (most seem to be "DVD Scene-It" game nights.
