CoasterFanatic Posted November 5, 2005 Posted November 5, 2005 Last Spring I headed to California (all alone) and met up with my Buddy CoasterDave for a few fine days of coaster riding. Here are some shots. Here ... let me help STAPLE you. Over the tophat Xcelerator opened with one train for super crazy lines Boomerang ERT. SUCKERS! Supreme Scream ERT The next day was Solace at Knotts. We started with some Jaguar ERT Squashable castle at night. Me and some Asian girl's backside Too bad I will be missing that Space Mountain credit too. Stupid sign was also up on my 2005 visit. Two former rides in one Dave tries his luck with the SegWay Time to whore it up! TAER IT DOWN! These people look thrilled. For some reason, i just thought this picture came out well Looks like I will be missing that BTMRR credit this time. It had to go kill someone. Splash Mountain with one back seat Beware! Tree Sculptures Time for the Jungle Cruise Little castle The crowds were awesomly light On Friday we headed to Disneyland. Looks like Cali Adventure will have to wait till next year One of my favorite Descendents songs Frank Sinatra's home away from home If I knew that the movie was about porn stars, I may have stuck around a little longer The red carpet awaits Manns was getting ready for the "Girl Next Door" opening Wow! I didn't know my dad was on the walk of fame. I got to Cali a day early, so after taking a trip to Long Beach I headed down to Hollywood for some sightseeing
CoasterFanatic Posted November 5, 2005 Author Posted November 5, 2005 More photos Solace 2004 was a great trip. No comment Again .... feel free to find yourself if you can. More Riddler. Riddler was definately the surprise of the trip. I didn't expect much but it was a very solid coaster. Next, we headed over to Gotham. I was trying to get a good shot of Colossus closed, but these coaster nerds were in my way Goliath ERT Rules Some Goliath ERT. Find yourself if you can. Wait time 3-4 hours for here! Riiiiggghhht! Now those are some big trains The next day was West Coast Bash at SFMM. X is probably not the best way to wake up in the morning. Time for GhostRider in the dark. Again ... find yourself if you can. Back to Knotts The kids love it Next up was this fine coaster A closeup of the coffin ... I mean ... train. Scariest coaster ever! Midway through the day, we made a little cred-ho stop at Adventure City I love the Knott's log flume Does everyone have their 25-point locking harness on? Too many ACERS ... too little chicken Yay! GhostRider Find yourself in this random station pic Show me to the kiddie coaster Find yourself in this random station pic
Erik Johnson Posted November 5, 2005 Posted November 5, 2005 Awesome Retro PTR. I had no idea there were those big Xs all along the X coaster train. I guess they are there in case you forget which coaster you are riding.
Robbie Posted November 5, 2005 Posted November 5, 2005 Wow I just noticed those coaster nerds are Robb and Elissa lol
PhishyBrewer Posted November 5, 2005 Posted November 5, 2005 Did they have digatal cameras back then, or do you have to scan all those photos?
Hattuchili Posted November 5, 2005 Posted November 5, 2005 Nice photo TR, Ted. I like Retro photo TR´s. Thanks for posting. --Sören
coaster911 Posted November 5, 2005 Posted November 5, 2005 nice pics and i do believe i saw myself in one of kbf shots. Kelly
DATman Posted November 5, 2005 Posted November 5, 2005 Very nice, and the X's are to hide the things that make the cars rotate
Nrthwnd Posted November 6, 2005 Posted November 6, 2005 Nice TR. And it was interesting to actually see Robb there, 'au natural' meaning NOT looking-at-camera? One of those "Very Rare Ones," y'know? Especially enjoyed the X loadstation shots. Never actually seen that before. Sure shows the HUGEness of the trains.
Louise Posted November 6, 2005 Posted November 6, 2005 ^ I know exactly what you mean Bill, I was trying to figure out why Robb didn't look quite so "Robbish" on that photo, then I realised it's because he isn't doing a silly pose! Not used to seeing you looking moderately normal Robb!
Carnage Posted November 6, 2005 Posted November 6, 2005 Nice retro TR. Brings back memories of my first trip to Cali. I'm right in the front of that random Excelarator station picture.
