CoasterFanatic Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 Last night, ym friend Jason and I headed to Heinz Field for the Monday Night Ravens/Steelers game. It was a pretty close match, but the better time won in the end Here are some pictures: Time to head back across the bridge and drive back home. More fireworks You have entered the "Heinz Red Zone" Myron Cope (Legendary Pitt. Broadcaster) got everybody waving their towels The crowd is electric for Monday night and they definately pull all the stops. Jason wanted a picture so I grabbed one of him with the field in the background. Wonder who will get on Madden's horsetrailer tonight? While walking past the endzone, the Steelers were starting to trinkle out for their warmups The scoreboard Once inside, we did a little walking tour. This part of the stadium is called the "Great Coke Hall" and features some interesting displays of Steeler legends. We hung around outside for a while to take in the sites before going in the stadium. One of the freaks was juggling fire on and off his unicycle. Since the game was halloween night, there was an interesting vibe going on outside. Here was a bizarre band/circus that was performing outside the stadium. Outside the Halloween freaks were getting ready with some face paint. Finally we arrive at our destination ... Heinz Field! We stopped by PNC Park where I grabbed another drink for the long walk. This time it would be some Iron City! Another night shot of PNC Park We parked downtown, so we had to walk a ways to get to the stadium. You can see PNC Park across the river. This one is for you, Jeremy. A nice big, thick, juicy Primanti Sammich! On the way we stopped at Primanti's. 16oz of Augustiner! Proudly brewed in Pittsburgh.
CoasterEricHP Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 Awesome game last night! Although I'm too poor to afford tickets, I was stuck in the pre game gridlock trying to get across the river to get to my g/f's house in Oakland and watch the game.. even though I can see Heinz Field from my apartment.. oh well.. Go Steelers!!
Mind Eraser Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 Good thing I didn't go! I probably wouldn't have made it out alive in my Ravens jersey
Guest Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 Damn Ted who did you rape to get tickets to a Monday night game? LMAO! Katie, who is bleeding black and gold with pride today! Go Stillas!
CoasterFanatic Posted November 2, 2005 Author Posted November 2, 2005 Damn Ted who did you rape to get tickets to a Monday night game? Nobody. I just take elderly people in dark alleys and beat them till they give up the tickets!
TConwell Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 LOL, I have the same Jersey ... and of course my Dad's family is from Coraopolis- so you can guess who I have pulled for my whole life! It was not a pretty win, but I will take it never-the-less! GO STEELERS!!! Great TR! Many thanks!! BTW -- I am going to see the Penguins and Thrashers on Jan 6th in Atlanta -- so I shall take some shots for those (diehard) Penguin fans (like me).
PhishyBrewer Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 Dude! Ted... does that sandwich have coleslaw and fresh cut fries on it? Thers is a place in Cleveland call Pinani's that does the same thing. There so freak'n good!
CoasterFanatic Posted November 2, 2005 Author Posted November 2, 2005 Pinani's WHAT? PRIMANTI'S RIPOFF! Yes, this particular sammich is bread, cheese, keilbasa, slaw, fries ... hold the tomato
Hattuchili Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 That is a great photo TR, Ted. It looks like you had a good time! Oh, the pictures from the water side are awesome! --Sören
ParkTrips Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 Oh man I used to go to the Monday Night games in Pittsburgh all the time, I haven't been in a while. My uncle has season tickets and never went on MNF games so we used to drive up for a weekend and go. Oh how I miss seeing the Steelers in person, Primanti sandwiches and a trip on the Gateway Clipper to get to the game - Joe, proud Steelers fan since my PA native father brainwashed me
ImAPrincess Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 Awww Ted, Wasn't it nice to go to the game with someone who you HAD TO EXPLAIN THINGS TO instead of taking your wonderful girlfriend (who got you FRONT ROW Patriots tickets for last year's Halloween game and you DON'T HAVE TO EXPLAIN THE GAME TO) ? Just wait.... Next time I get FRONT ROW 30 YARD LINE tickets BEHIND the STEELERS bench, who wants to go with me?.... Anyone else think I'm a little bitter?
SharkTums Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 HAHA! Ted's so busted!!! Now we see who really wears the pants in this releationship!
Bubba Z Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 I'm up for that !! Could you make it Broncos, Steelers playoff tickets.
Coaster Palooza Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 Great TR Ted! I was telling my wife on Monday night that I want to go to Pittsburgh to see a MNF game in person. It is so awesome to see these pics! GO STEELERS!!!
CoasterFanatic Posted November 2, 2005 Author Posted November 2, 2005 Now we see who really wears the pants in this releationship Did you ever have any doubt?
jackskellington101 Posted November 3, 2005 Posted November 3, 2005 Nice TR! I like these Steelers TRs, they're a nice change. Oh, and... Go Ravens Ok, yes, I'm a Ravens fan. I'm a hometown boy, but seeing my hometown teams are Baltimore and Washington, I don't have much to root for. Last Sunday, on the Washington side, was just painful, even across the ocean.
